Once he’d actually reached the faucet, Jake slowed down. He ducked under the extended hot water lever blocking his way and continued towards his true enemy, the giant soap dispenser.
Stopping in front of the glass soap dispenser, he waited a second for something to happen. It hadn’t fired off any more slimes since before he entered that last foam cloud, so he knew it had to have something up its sleeve.
He wanted to be done with it and the bonus quest as fast as he could, but he wasn’t about to ruin everything at the last second. There was a waterfall’s worth of steaming hot water coming out of the faucet. It wouldn’t actually burn him, but it would definitely be burning through his HP if he fell into the sink right where it was pouring in from.
Jake looked around, making sure that none of the foam clouds were coming near. Then he looked into the cloudy waters of the sink to see, as best he could, if there was something coming for him. There was nothing or at least, nothing he could see.
He waited for another half minute. The rushing waters continued to slowly fill the giant sink while he did so. It was inching towards overflowing. It looked like he was going to have to take the first move if he wanted anything to happen.
Jake ported out the cans of bug spray from his hands and replaced them with his metal bat. Eyeing the sac filled with slime cores sitting inside the dispenser, he swung hard against the glass. If he could break open the dispenser and pull out that sac, he was thinking that would kill it.
Cracks in the glass splintered out from the point Jake hit with his bat. He pulled it back then struck again and the cracks spread further.
A slime, the one who’d been left alive in the last foam cloud, shot out of the water. As Jake pulled his bat back for his third swing, it slammed itself into the back of his knees.
Jake’s legs crumbled. He fell to the ground. Almost instantly, he switched out his bat for a can of bug spray from his Inventory. As he started spraying the slime, he heard a click sound coming from the dispenser’s nozzle above him.
He raised his freehand and summoned a can of bug spray to it, ready to catch whatever slime it shot out and attack it all in one move. Instead of slime, however, a cloud of foam shot out.
Jake looked up just in time to see the dispenser’s head push down and unleash a cloud of foam straight over him. From head to heart the foam swallowed him. Pressure built around him as the foam bubbled and rapidly began to take liquid form.
At the small cloud’s peak, Jake could see the white light of the slime core controlling it. He fired his spray aimed towards it, but showing an intelligence unlike any of the slimes before it, the cloud-gel hybrid yanked his arm and threw it along with his can of bug spray out of its forming membrane.
New Status Effect!
DROWNING!
The monster was flooding the space around Jake’s head with gel. If he tried to breathe, the gel would rush into his mouth. Attacking from outside with the can wouldn’t work, he wouldn’t reach its core in time. He had to think fast.
And so he did. Using his head as his ‘extended limb’ he summoned a can of bug spray from his Inventory just inches away from his face. There was still just enough of the monster that was foam instead of gel for him to manage the summon.
In the same instant, he switched out the can in his hand for his hunting knife. Before the slime-foam hybrid could even react, he stabbed through its membrane and pierced his summoned can.
BLINDED! [Temporary]
Poison burst out in front of Jake’s face, disintegrating the slime covering his mouth and nose and shooting into his eyes. Eyes shut, Jake ported the gel stuck in his nostrils and mouth into his Inventory so he could breathe.
With little pause between his actions, he ported the pierced can into his Inventory, replaced it with another, and stabbed it as well. The slime-foam hybrid cried out in pain, but with his ears clogged with gel, Jake felt the cry more than he heard it.
Jake rubbed his eyes against what remained of the slime’s gel to clear the poison from them, then replaced his knife with a can of wasp spray. With squinted eyes, he sniped the slime’s core through the foam and gel surrounding it.
Gel and foam together collapsed around him as the slime stuck to his legs collapsed from his assault on it as well.

Jake didn’t even bother to bring up his new skill’s description before closing the message. He was too pissed for that.
Quick to his feet, he reached out with an open hand and touched the lip of the slime dispenser’s nozzle. Before it could do anything, he summoned three cans of bug spray into its mouth.
The dispenser pressed its head down trying to release another one of its slimes at him, but the gel slime spawn got stuck between the cans and helped glue them in place.
With his rage came creativity. Jake jumped up and grabbed onto the dispenser shoulder, then pulled himself up on top of it. Porting his metal bat back into his hands, he swung down on the dispenser's mouth, cracking open the cans of bug spray inside. Its mouth flooded with poison, it wouldn’t be able to send slimes at him any time soon.
“Let’s finish this up, huh?” Jake said to the dispenser, before jumping back down and proceeding to show it the kind of hospitality he’d show to a piñata.
Like a smith’s hammer to heated steel, Jake beat down on the dispenser’s glass until it shattered. The gel within came spilling out with the sac holding the slime cores following close behind.
Jake grabbed the sac and tore it out from where it was still connected to the glass. He cut it open with his knife. It let out one last wail, then died.
You have ripped out the sac from a Gel Slime Dispenser!

Jake sighed. Hopefully, they don’t turn it back on right after I leave, he thought, referring to the faucet. That would be bad since he didn’t have any way to drain the sink.
Even if the system would give him super strength if he dumped his points into strength, he doubted he had enough to pull down the faucet’s rod. There was an entire lake’s worth of pressure pushing down against the drain blocker it was connected to.

Find a way to drain the lake within your sink and claim what treasures may lay below.

A hidden quest, huh?
Jake thought that unlocking a hidden quest for the task was cool and all, but that still didn’t change the fact that he didn’t actually have a way to complete it at the moment.
Tutorial - Come Back Later
There are plenty of things you can find in an instance that you may not be able to deal with at the time of encountering them.
When that happens, remember that the instances will stick around and you’ll be able to come back to deal with those things later when you are better prepared.
If they were willing to give him a tutorial like that right now, then that was more than enough confirmation for him that he definitely couldn’t complete the quest at the moment.
Before he could forget, Jake pulled up the description for his new skill.
Infomercial Product Weaponization
Anything and everything can be a weapon as long as you’ve seen it on television!
If a product you're using has been bought from an infomercial or a catalog, you gain bonus proficiency in using it as a weapon.
This skill’s effect can be applied to multiple items at once.
“Hmph.” Jake closed the description with a grunt. Every useless thing his grandmother had bought since he was in eighth grade was now a potential weapon for him and he couldn’t have been less thrilled.
Getting a skill like this felt like the universe was telling him it was right that his grandmother had become a hoarder and he wasn’t on board for anything that suggested that. With that said, he felt a bit more confident with the bat in his hands now.
Just as he took his first step to leave, Jake felt the whole room shake and saw waves form on the sink’s lake as a roar rang out throughout the bathroom.
You have enraged the invader’s king by thwarting his plans to spawn himself new subjects. Due to your actions, no reinforcements shall be available to him beyond the subjects he has already fielded.
The final battle awaits you at the toilet’s mouth. Do away with these invaders quickly and reclaim your porcelain lands.
Don’t have to tell me twice, Jake thought. He had worked hard enough for his five hundred—now seven hundred—dollars already. Some raging giant blob wasn’t going to stand in the way of him claiming his money.
Through the clouds of foam, he made his way back to the entrance of the sink room, then headed back out of the bathroom to prepare for the final confrontation.
