Chapter 5

From the depths of his armor, a deep and authoritative voice resonated.

"I am Sol Galahad, anointed Dust Knight. According to my code of honor, I offer you the opportunity to surrender. If you refuse, the Order grants me the right to bring you down until nothing but dust remains."

The raiders were paralyzed, their hearts seized by a mix of fear and awe. The reputation of the Dust Knights loomed large in the Far West, but now, facing one in flesh and bone, their true power was undeniable.

"We don't seek trouble. We were just..."

"Where are they? A man and his son sought our protection. They were supposed to be here," the Dust Knight interrupted, his tone allowing no resistance.

"We know nothing about them, we..."

"Lies deserve the severest consequences," declared the Dust Knight, his voice resolute.

"They're alive!" exclaimed one of the minions, unable to contain himself. "They're hiding, concealed among..."

"Silence!" hissed the boss, his eyes nervously moving between the Dust Knight and his men.

Undeterred, the Dust Knight steadily advanced, his steps measured and deliberate.

"Everyone will face the Judgment of Dust. If you can withstand a day in this merciless wasteland without water, clemency will be granted."

"To hell with that!" spat the boss, his defiance evident. "Take those two miscreants with you. We return alive."

"I cannot leave a crime unpunished," proclaimed the Dust Knight, his resolution firm.

The boss raised his grenade launcher, a last desperate attempt in his eyes. The projectile was launched, heading toward its intended target, but before it could reach the Dust Knight, it exploded prematurely.

The resulting cloud of toxic vapors spread through the air, corroding the dry ground beneath them.

"Without surrender, only retaliation remains the appropriate course," intoned the Dust Knight, his voice infused with grim determination.

The raiders launched a barrage of erratic shots, attempting to bring down their formidable adversary. But their shots missed, failing to hit their target. With deliberate slowness, the Dust Knight, his eyes gleaming with the resolution, advanced toward them.

The boss, clutching a massive hammer with a magnetic head, exuded false bravado.

"We are more than him, he is only one. We have the advantage!"

Galahad grabbed a sword hilt from his waist. Then, in a reckless charge, the boss lunged at the Dust Knight, his hammer swinging through the air. But with a quick and fluid movement, the morph steel blade emerged from the Dust Knight's hilt, splitting the boss's body in half.

The two pieces of the boss's body collapsed to the ground, blood staining the land beneath them. The sword of the Knight was blood-stained, but the morph steel transformed to keep it clean.

"Please, don't harm us!" pleaded one of the remaining minions, his voice filled with desperation.

"Where are they?" demanded the Dust Knight, his gaze penetrating the trembling minion.

"They're hidden there, behind some rocks, suffocating from the acid plasma," stuttered the minion, pointing out where they were hiding.

"Acid plasma, a dangerous substance used in factories and mines. Its use as a weapon is a grave crime. Are they alive?" asked the Dust Knight, his voice tinged with concern.

"We don't know. Please, forgive us," pleaded the minion, his voice trembling. The steel blade of the Dust Knight's sword returned to a simple hilt before he sheathed it at his side.

"Let the wasteland be your judge. Once we were dust, and to dust, we shall return."

With a solemn nod, the Dust Knight aimed his fist at the raiders' buggy, unleashing a concentrated beam from the wrist, enveloping the vehicle in a burst of flames. The same fate awaited the remaining motorcycle as it too succumbed to the power of the Dust Knight.

Having imparted his justice, the Dust Knight turned, his steps taking him back towards the safety of the rock formation. The ethereal blue glow emanating from his helmet gradually faded, blending seamlessly with the desolate surroundings.

Silence settled over the wasteland, broken only by the mournful whistle of the wind. The Dust Knight, a solitary figure in a desolate world, disappeared into the rocky embrace, leaving behind the raiders, condemned to the harsh Wasteland.
