CHAPTER 7
Back in the dungeon Kevin and Maria were both heading toward the fourth room. Kevin was in a bit of a panic since the Valkyrie had sacrificed itself for his sake and with three fewer people, he began to become more doubtful if he and Maria would survive.
“We’ll be fine”, Maria said to Kevin. “I’m not a SSS rank healer for nothing.” She gloated. “I donn-tt know.” Kevin stammered. He had a lot of worry in his voice. “I’ll protect yo,u,” she said. They entered the new room. “Hit the center orb,” Maria said to Kevin. As she began to cast healing buff and protective spells. The moment Kevin hit the orb. Maria’s spells all fizzled out. “What the—“, she said. Four doors appeared in the room. One o the doors opened and out poured a dozen skeleton knights. Kevin began to panic running back towards Maria. The skeletons charged after Kevin as he ran. Maria tried to cast a spell, but it fizzled out. The skeletons began to overwhelm them. Maria was having to hit the skeletons with her staff. “Stay next to me,” she told Kevin. Unfortunately, Kevin was in flight mode and ran leaving Maria exposed. She had managed to beat 3 skeletons, by dodging them. Maria soon heard Kevin scream. She looked over at Kevin who had been stabbed in the left shoulder with a dagger by a skeleton knight. Kevin kicked the skeleton in response sending it flying into 4 other skeletons. They all flew into the nearby falling into a mass of bones and armor. The distraction was enough for a skeleton to stab Maria in the chest with a broad sword. She gasped in pain as blood flew out of her mouth. Kevin ran over to Maria fast. He let out a battle cry that got the attention of the remaining skeletons. He kicked a skeleton with the broad sword into the other 3 remaining skeletons. They all flew into a pile of bones and armor. “Maria” cried out Kevin. “I’m so sorry.” He began to cry. Maria pulled the sword out of her chest and patted him on the head. She tried to use healing magic but it had little effect. “Wha,” she said. “She coughed up some blood. “Thought id never have to use a healing potion.” She said. She quickly used the potion and the wound sealed up. She gave Kevin a healing potion as well. He drank it and the wound on his shoulder closed up. Just then the 2 doors opened up in the room. “Can’t check my stats now.” She said. Somehow she couldn’t use her magic attacks or do any healing. She took notice of the situation. Guess I’ll have to fight with force. Kevin was just as confused he could land hard blows, but that was all he could do.
This time 8 zombies appeared out of one door and the other appeared 8 mummies. “Well at least they are slow, but they have a ton of defense.” Said Maria. Before Maria could give Kevin instructions he tried to kick a zombie in the chest. It grabbed his leg and twisted him in the air throwing him into the wall with a loud thud. “UGH,” he moaned. He looked at his leg it was twisted and his head was bleeding. Maria ran past all the mobs to Kevin. “Drink this”. She said as she gave him another healing potion. This one was more potent. “I was about to warn you that you can’t attack zombies flat out of the gate. They can only be attacked in a group or with a counterattack.” She said and sighed. The mummies I could incinerate with a fire spell, but I can’t use magic for some reason,” she moaned, “The other alternative is to pull the jewel out of their back, and they crumble to dust.” She stated.

The next moments had Kevin and Maria both attacking the zombies in the union. When all the zombies were down. Maria had Kevin aggro the mummies, while she pulled the jewel out of their backs. When the last mummy fell Maria checked her stats. Her face dropped. Somehow her stats had been replaced with Re stats. “What is wrong?” Asked Kevin. “My stats are all weak and my skills are bad too.” She replied. Kevin then checked his stats and gasped. “What is it?” Asked Maria. All my stats have been nerfed, but my skills are all healing, and have the magic spells.” Said Kevin. Before they could say more 3 doors opened in the room…
The first door opened with 10 small red spiders. They quickly overwhelmed Maria and Kevin as they began to kick and beat them. They were halfway done with the spiders when the 2nd door opened and outpoured 10 large scorpions. “Lookout!” yelled Maria to Kevin. The scorpions began to overwhelm Kevin, he was quickly stunk repeatedly over and over. Kevin cried out in pain. He managed to summon “The Slayer” and whacked a scorpion with it. It instantly died from contact with the sword, then another, and then another. Until there were all dead. “Kevin” screamed Maria as she ran over to him having finished off the rest of the spiders. Kevin;s status was bad he was bleeding with a bunch of venom in his body. The 3rd and final door opened as Maria was aiding Kevin. She was too busy to notice 10 wasps heading toward them. She gave Kevin an antidote potion. Just as he had finished consuming it. Maria was stung in the back by one of the wasps. The others began to sting her a few seconds later. “Maria” he cried out with rage. He walked one of the wasps with the sword sending it flying and instantly killing it. He did the same with the other 9 wasps. “What the heck is up with this sword,” Kevin thought. He looked at its stats and saw “The Slayer” had a 100% auto-kill rate. He raised his eyebrows in surprise. Suddenly all four doors opened with different creators of all sizes, Kevin let out a battle cry and attacked everything that came out. After a few mins, the room was cleared of all mobs. Maria had managed to treat the paralysis. The bad news with the wasps she had been stung by sucked all the mana out of her. She drank a full recovery mana potion her mana was tapped out in just a few seconds. She consumed all her mana potions. Luckily, the last one refilled her mana and didn’t drain. When Maria asked Kevin if she could see her stats. She checked over his a became pale. “So it would seem this room swaps stats of people and objects.” She concluded. “Let’s just get out of here” she growled, as they left the fourth room.
