After the passing of an unknown amount of time he awoke, his head pounding, and the hot sun beaming down on him. Upon a few seconds passing his nerves started informing of the dull resounding pain across his whole body and the sharp pain of newly opened wounds.
He quickly coughed out a combination of blood and fur, it leaving a metallic aftertaste in his mouth, and he took deep breaths as his mind struggled to handle what was going on in its half asleep state. He could feel the now dried blood on his back sticking to tufts of fur. His breaths became shorter and he swallowed some blood before almost throwing it back up.
He raised his arm to his forehead but it didn't respond - and it was only now that re registered the chunk of flesh missing from his side. He couldn't handle all this. He tried to scream, but his body wouldn't respond.
He curled up on the ground, the ground getting stained by his still leaking injuries, his eyes were getting blurry and he couldn't tell if it was blood loss or tears or both and, and-
Ding!
A sound cut through everything he was feeling, with him focusing on it to free him from what he felt and thought, wanting even just a small respite.
You have unallocated stat points!
'stat points?' He thought, before remembering the system - it all felt like a dream, even with the pain still near the forefront of his mind - and the stats it had to assigned to him, trying to remember how to recall it. 'what was it... menu? stats? status? c-' he began before a window appeared before him

'what?' was his first thought as he saw the [God's challenge] title, it was a ominous addition to his status, and for some reason he couldn't remember why he had it, just that he chose to have it.
Actually, thinking about it, he couldn't remember how he got here, he just remembered going to work, then something, and then he was here. He had never thought about because of his situation, it was weird, but he knew there was some stretch of time before he got here .
Still, he wondered what this title did? And as if responding, the system displayed a window.
Gods challenge (mythical title) - You take 50% more damage, skills are 50% harder to learn, and all enemies can sense you within a certain range. Additionally, classes are unavailable, and jobs cannot grant you skills, just make them available.
his first thought was how unfair this was, but upon closer inspection it revealed some important information, Well, just one piece of information. In this world there was something called classes, he tried to focus on the word, but it didn't trigger anything, so lacking the knowledge of what they did, he decided to move on.
Next, using this feature of inspecting he decided to try to inspect both his other title, and his new skill. Mentally waving away the first window, he focused on inspecting the next title. With a mental effort, he brought it up.
Summoned hero (legendary title) - Welcome, hero! As one meant to protect the world, you gain the [Hero] class, and a special skill which can block any damage, along with a 25% increase in any damage you deal.
Once again, classes were mentioned, he wanted to know what they were. But he knew couldn't inspect the word itself. But thinking about it, he realized he might be able to inspect the [Hero] class itself, and so, he tried. With a second mental force, he brought it up.
Hero (legendary class) - As a hero of the world, heros can learn any skill and gain 10 stat points every time they level up, with additional bonuses given upon specialization.
he could almost feel the unfairness even though there wasn't another class to compare this to. It almost made him feel bad, although it couldn't compare to being stuck in a cliff with just some murderous dogs to keep you company.
stopping that train of thought he dismissed all the windows and focused on his new skill, and with a mental force, it was brought up
Bite (common skill, lvl 1) - Bite damage is increased by 1% per level
It was... barebones. Especially compared to the expressive legendary and mythical titles on his status, it felt weird, but he decided to disregard it for now. Dismissing all of the windows, -including his status this time- he finally faced the reality of the situation.
He turned his eyes away from the wolf corpse, looking towards the rest of the pack, but they didn't see him, in fact, most didn't even have eyes. He wondered how the first wolf had noticed him for a bit, until he remembered the description of his mythical title. He backed away from the wolves, not wanting anything to do with them.
Eventually he got far enough away he felt safe looking around, and he noticed a stalagmite, silently wondering how it formed in a canyon he stepped over to it, leaning in to inspect it.
It was sharp, much sharper then any naturally formed object has the right to be, and was unnaturally smooth, like it was the first attempt at a spike. First it was the zombie dogs and now this? He couldn't understand what was going on.
Eventually, he just sighed and sat against the stalagmite, deciding it was fantasy world logic. He wanted to sleep already and he had just gotten up a few minutes ago.
As he was settling in for sleep, a bright light caught his eye. It was that same cyan crystal he spotted, and it was floating. He hadn't thought about it due to the life or death situation, but the crystal had to be supernatural. There wasn't any force that would let a crystal float in the random canyon he found himself in.
Maybe if he got that crystal he could make it float him up to the surface, but the dogs... He wasn't that desperate yet.
So he decided to try to get that crystal, but first he would need some sleep.
