Indefinite Hiatus

Yo! So I do still plan to write this novel. Same as I still plan to write Grave of Heroes. However, I'm realizing more and more that we only have so much time on this world. LitRPG was ultimately a genre I picked up when I was depressed because it was easy to read and write, kind of like junk food for reading for me.

That being said, much like junk food, the genre really leaves me dissatisfied. Rather than trying to improve the genre, as I was thinking about doing, I'd rather just write in genres that I uninhibitedly enjoy. LitRPG is just not what I want to write right now and the more I try to force it the more I resent writing.

I already have a career where I sometimes have to do work I don't enjoy, and work way too many hours towards it, so if I'm going to write in my free time then I want to write something that catches my interest and entertains me. I don't want to treat writing like I do my career, it's just not in me to do so.

For fans of the LitRPG genre and fans of my past novels, sorry to disappoint. It's just boring to me. For fans within these genres that also like my work, I recommend you try Super Supportive, Cultist of Cerebon, Delve, He Who Fights With Monsters, Artorian's Archives (Kindle Unlimited), Millenial Mage, Chrysalis, Pale Lights, and The Gods are Bastards.

For next steps, no promises. I keep making that mistake, like I'm still a recent grad and a young kid who can afford to spend time on a novel I don't care about. I've spent too much time on novels that were just passing fancies, and I don't think my next novel will be Grave of Heroes, Book of Janus (Dungeon Ecologist), or Into An Abyss. I have a lot of outlines (about 20) for different novels, but no clue what I'll go with. I've realized that the novels I want to write are not necessarily the novels I want to publish.

If I ever write something worth publishing again, you'll hear about it. And for anyone who is a true diehard fan, even if I never publish a novel again, I'll at least publish how Grave of Heroes and Dungeon Ecology would have ended before I die. I hope that by freeing myself up to write what I want to write that it won't come to that, but still I already have the notes typed up for both as a just in case.

See you when I see you!
