----------------------------------------

Meanwhile, outside of the Dungeon Core’s dream-mind space, events continued taking course. In almost no time, a week passed and Faellen managed to train up another group of Sipalians.

But that wasn’t all! It had also included a few of the resident Sipaloons in the training. Now the natives of the moon had System access as well. Which meant that they could also contribute towards guiding another group of Sipalians.

Naturally, Faellen still stuck around for another week. To make sure the Sipaloons could truly manage the training of adventurers-to-be.

But after another week passed and the fairy had to barely interfere, it decided it was time. It would go on a small trip.

Yes, Faellen activated one of the newly constructed portals.

It wanted to see first hand what sort of world they were dealing with. It wanted to see what kind of people they were working to save. It wanted to see how their plan was developing.

So on it went, hopping through the portal and onto Lapis.

The fairy appeared in a dark room, the depth of one of the mini-Dungeons. Of course, it had picked the closest one to any sort of civilization, but that still put it far far away from even the nearest village.

A growl resounded from the only exit to the room. The monster that was supposed to be guarding the chamber wasn’t happy an intruder had somehow snuck past.

The hulking beast, a much larger and more ferocious badger, stood up. It was about to turn and attack, when it felt something brush against its mind. It was the Dungeon Core, the Dungeon Seed, it was bound to.

Of course, Faellen was never in any sort of danger.

The only thing the little fae had to do was reach out through its blessing and its Dungeon Core’s power into the connection the Dungeon Core had with the Dungeon Seeds and then tell that to tell the monster to back off. A bit convoluted, but it worked.

Afterwards, it took the fairy a few hours to exit the mini-Dungeon. Not because the maze of tunnels inside the Dungeon was somehow extra difficult, nor was it extra long. No, it was because Faellen stopped relatively frequently to analyse the Dungeon.

But at last, the light at the end of the tunnel came into sight. The fairy emerged our of the dark depths into a nice and sunny environment. For once, there were no claustrophobic rooms or dim and gloomy tunnels.

“Yup, this is what I needed,” it said. “This is as much a vacation as it is work.”

The Dungeon entrance it had exited out of was inside a rather dense jungle. But even so, it was more the outskirts of the jungle, as just little distance away one could see a sandy shore.

The view was breathtaking. Faellen remained there for a good while, just floating and admiring the ocean.

But eventually, it had to end. Even so, the fairy made sure to stretch the moment as much as it could. It waited not only until the sunset, but also continued to stargaze for a while afterwards.

Still, even a being as strange as a fae can’t just stare into the distance for forever.

It began to fly away, heading almost directly away from the sea. What it was truly orienting by wasn’t the see however. It was the decreasing amount of mana in the air. Faellen knew how the mana gathering enchantment was set up, so it was a simple matter of following the mana to the edge of the Dungeon network.

From there, things became a bit more difficult. There still wouldn’t be any sign of civilization for many miles, plus it now found itself deep within the jungle.

The solution once more came from the blessing.

After a bit of meditating and connecting to the Dungeon moon’s power, a few dots appeared in the distance. So far in the distance that they were beyond the horizon, yet Faellen could still sense them.

They were the System Users that had already returned to Lapis.

With the new marker in mind, Faellen again ventured forth.

The entire night managed to pass by before the jungle ended. Still, Faellen continued flying, only this time over plains.

At last, as noon was slowly approaching, a dot appeared on the horizon. It steadily grew bigger and bigger, revealing itself to be a city. In fact, it was the very city where the Users were all located.

Yes, Faellen had skipped multiple villages and a few smaller towns to head directly here.

The city itself – or rather, the inner city – was hidden behind a rather large wall. Around which sprawled many more houses, even if these were of poorer make then the ones inside.

The streets both within and without the walls were packed full of various Sipalians going about their days. A few Waddlers – the large transport beetles from chapter 27 – walked the streets as well. Some of them full of crates, some carrying people.

And while all of that interested Faellen very much, the location of the other Users inside its mind pointed it further still. Not just behind the walls and into the inner city. At the very centre of even that was a rather official looking building. That was its destination.

Now, as a fairy of not exactly insignificant power, it could have simply walked in. it wouldn’t even have had to use force, since illusions were the bread and butter of many fae.

Except that that wasn’t the type of mission Faellen was on. So instead, it simply sat down on the roof of a nearby building and watched.
