The art of Golemancy: Ch 5

The Spider, which has all the mana, Curls up, as if it had died, then began to grow, and grow, until it had become the size of a child, or half the size of a full adult human. It had stopped growing, and slowly, it began to unfurl, like it was walking from a long sleep, and when it completely unfurled, it stood, motionless, with blue intense gleaming eyes, a black slender carapace, with slim legs, and fangs that continually dripped dark silver venom, which almost looks like water, but not quite.

The memory cuts off then, and there are no other memories after that, no more guides. I have a choice, now I could learn the whole golem stuff, or bug thingy, eventually I will learn both, but I want something for my first floor, I feel very exposed without that something right now, and seeing as there are no bugs, or anything in my little dungeon, it was not a tough choice, golems.

Alright I went through the golem memory a few times, I have made the core, which is floating, and everything, but nothing happens after that, is the dungeon controlling the golem manually, because that would be really annoying, but why would you need the core then? Can I create some type of connection using the core, maybe I have to move the rocks manually, to form the body for the core, and it would work?

And so I did, I shot a little mana into the ground, moved it upward, and formed the body. I grabbed onto the core and pushed it into the golem, and just as in the memory, the blue lines and eyes appeared, which was great, but nothing happened after that, I could not command it to move or anything, I could move it manually, but again, that would be a pain. I need to make some type of mind for the golem, but the memory, has no information on how that is done, maybe I just will it to be?

Again no, I do not just will it to be, all that did was make me feel like an idiot, hmm maybe it is something deeper than that, ok stop, there is no need to be cryptic to yourself, I will not suddenly gain some enlightenment from acting like I know... Or will I.

So here is the idea, because I need a mind, why not try meditation, after all meditation is the best way to the mind, that is not true, but it is close enough to maybe work, question is

'How do I meditate?'

It is not like I can close my eyes, as I literally can't close them, as I don't have eyes, and turning off my area sight thingy, is not an option, maybe I can try meditating anyway, it's not like it would change anything to try.

I have been trying to meditate for, what feels like forever now, and the closest I have gotten is emptying my mind, as it is very hard to get any deeper than that, because I can still see, maybe I am doing this wrong, after all, why would a dungeon meditate the same way humans do, maybe that way no longer works because I am a dungeon, maybe I have to do the opposite, actively absorb all the information of everything I see, but still empty my mind.

So here goes, I begin to put full concentration on my sight, analysing everything, from the smallest cracks, to the very shape of every rock, I analysed, which was easier than I though it would be, but the hard part would be emptying my mind while still analysing, because every time I try, new information fills the space I empty, but I am making progress, as everything I empty the space, there is slightly less information that refills it, like 0.01% less, but progress is still progress, no matter how small.

And eventually, it pays off. After I had only 1 line of information, and removed it, it was peaceful, and different from before, I felt true peace, like I am meditating in the perfect environment, with an also perfect state of mind, like I had woken up and felt... truly alive, I had it happen a couple times when I was still human, the first was on the first day of the weekends, when I didn't have school... Anyways, I am getting carried away.

So what do I do now, I was kind of put all my chips on black, and hoped this would work, hmm, maybe I can make a mind in here, because I am in my mind, so you need a mind to make a mind kind of logic, like how you need 2 humans to make a human... probably not the best example.

So with that, I began experimenting. First I tried to do it the same way I control things, by just willing it, which failed. Second, I tried to imagine it as if building, but still pretty much willing it, just with a hardhat, it also failed. The third, and final time, I tried something different, I started to think about what I wanted the golem to do, patrol, and defend the first room, using it's eyes to see, its legs to move, it's arms to fight, and protect itself, I gathered all these thoughts into one place, and now I had a ball of stuff, it's done.

I had made a rudimentary mind, very basic, and stupid, but hey, I had something, and no way to verify if it would work, until I put it into the golem, but hey, I had something, so even if it fails, at least I know I am going in the right direction, maybe. Question is how do I move this to the golem, it is not actually a difficult question, you see my eyes are open, so if I move it to the same place as the golem so it overlaps... It should work after all my mind is not flat and stuck in my mind, it is in the very air, and rocks of this place, in my domain.

After overlapping the mind with the golem, something strange happened, I could no longer move the mind as easily, like there was some kind of anchor attaching it to the golem, then the golem began to move. it's eyes flickered. it's legs began to walk, creating thunderous roars with each step. it's arms moved and covered the core, and began protecting it. It worked, shame I could not give it commands, as I never added that feature.
