Chapter 05
…
Is is one day before my twelve birthday, I used my time mainly to train, in anticipation what happens when I achieve the first level on my new Classes. Since my old ones would give me new skills on a regular basis on a level up. But the required XP is now ten times the amount I needed for Level ten of my old Class. And the couple free XP I got for small achievements, does not really cut it anymore. But it is not like my time was spent useless. Most of my Skills leveled up. On subject of leveling Skills up, I also discovered the use of Skill Point. I need two Skill Points to level a lesser Skill from level 1 to level 2 or for example a lesser level 5 Skill needs 6 Points to achieve level 6. For minor Skills it is one point more. Certainly useful, but I can still level skills without the shortcut of using Skill Points.
My [lesser Sword Arts] and [lesser Shield Arts] are at level 9 and 8 respectively. I am tempted to upgrade them to their max. level 10, since my [Mana Control] and [Meditation] upgraded to their minor grade at that point. Not seeing any better use of my 70 Skill Points, I decide to go for it.
28 used Skill Points later, I am the happy owner of two new minor Skills.
Upon the upgrade, I feel my knowledge about those two Arts deepen and how to use a few new included skills.
Excited about my progress, I spend the rest of the day, training my new Skills.
…
The next Day I sleep in, until a maid wakes me. She informs me, that my father wants to meet, my mother, Elaine and me in his study. About twenty minutes later, I am the last to arrive.
“You wanted to talk ?”
“Yes, about your path as adventurer. I have arranged a carriage, for tomorrow, to bring you to the small town of Hillberry and a house near the local Adventurer’s Guild Hall. I have also prepared this.“
My father hands me a small pouch, filled with coins.
“There should be 10 gold 20 silver and 30 copper coins in there. If I remember correctly, a meal should not be more than a few coppers and with a wealth worth of 1230 coppers you should have enough to also by anything else you need. Since Elaine belongs to you, she will accompany you on your adventures and I gave her a similar amount of money.”
I look at my only friend Elaine and ask.
“Are you alright with coming with me ? I am sure you could stay with my mother if you want to stay a maid at this mansion.”
“Yes I’m certain. I have a combat related maid class and you know from our training together, that I can fight. It would be a great chance at increasing my level. But even if I am only to remain in your new house as a maid, I would want to go. I would be lonely without you here. So if you will have me, I would be happy to accompany you.”

“Obviously I don’t want to leave my only friend behind and if you want to fight with me I know I can trust you to have my back. The only question is if you need new equipment. While I’m still settled with the equipment my father gave me a few years back, I don’t remember you owning any.”
On this note, my mother speaks up.
“I might have prepared something for this occasion.”
She pulls a ring out of a pocket, similar to my Epic grade Ring of Holding.
“This is a Rare grade Ring of Holding. It may not have to much space in it, but enough for a armor, some weapons and a few necessities.”
She gives the ring to Elaine.
“In there you will find two new Maid outfits, made out of [Silver Sheep Wool], [Arachne Silk] and durable leather. They look great and at the same time can double as peek Rare grade Armor. I also included a few Rare grad knifes and a spear with a slightly longer blade at the spearhead. I noticed your talent with it, while watching you train.”
Elaine gawks at the ring and starts to stutter.
“I… I… isn’t it… I mean… Thank you, but is it really ok for me to just accept something so obviously expensive ?”
“If you want, see it as a way of helping my son, by helping you. Just try to keep him save and I’m happy.”
She still looks unsure at first, but then looks at us and I can see her conviction in her eyes.
“I will do my absolute best.”
We go on about the last details of the trip and my new housing, but I am to nervous and excited to pay to much attention.
…
We start our journey early the next day. The coachman is an old Wolf-Beastkin.
After a heartfelt goodbye and promising my mother to look after myself, we drive off.
The journey is rather quiet for the most Part. No monster or bandit attacks.
The most action was when we made a stop for the night in a village’s inn and two drunkards went at each other, until they were kicked out.
In the afternoon, a day later, we arrive at our destination, the small town of Hillberry
The Coachman drives us to a House, close to the center of the town. It looks like a miniature version of a mansion. A two storey tall house, about 4 meters of lawn from the house to the 2 meter tall stone wall, all around.
“This is the house you were gifted. If you you she no need for me right now, I would like to see, how far back I can get, today.”
“Yes, you can go. No luggage to be carried, we should have everything we took with us in our rings.”
I look over to Elaine for confirmation and she nods.
“Then good luck to you, young master Ben”
“Good luck on your way back.”
Elaine and I walk to our new home. She pulls out two keys out of thin air and gives them to me.
“Those are for the gate and the house. Your father gave them to me, before we started our journey.”
The house has an empty cellar, the ground floor has a kitchen, dining and big living room. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a study. All fully furnished. After deciding on a bedroom for each of us, we spent the rest of the day, familiarizing ourselves with our new home.
