Chapter 4: The Talk Part I

Chapter 4: The Talk Part I

“God! I forgot how much I miss CHOCOLATE!” Gvene exclaimed as she rubbed her cheek with her left hand and she also displayed a face full of bliss and ecstasy.

I narrowed my eyebrows as I silently watched her chowing down three more boxes of chocolate bars that I was saving up to gift to one of my T-dolls.

“Ever since I came here, the chocolates that I came across doesn’t taste as godly compared to this.”

Dam. She legit finished three boxes of my chocolate that I brought out from my inventory. I lowkey let out a sigh.

“Ok glutton. Talk.”

Gvene took out a handkerchief and wiped her mouth clean.

“Ok. Ok. I’ll tell you but which version do you want? Long or Short?”

“Give it to me long and straight.”

I took out a jar of carbonated beverages and two cups. Soon after, I poured the liquid into the two cups and I handed one of the cups to her as she began her tale.

“Remember how flight KAA104 tragedy?”

The Kontinental Aviation Airline 104 tragedy, a sub-atmospheric craft that exploded midflight over the Pacific Ocean. Official reports were sketchy however all passengers and crew were confirmed to be dead. The cause of the explosion remained a mystery and was shelved by the ISA.

“Yea. I remember. The agency reported that all hands were lost. The International Spacecraft Agency could never explain the cause of the explosion, so it was shelved.”

Gvene gave me a serious look.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

“This is the part where it gets juicy. The cause of the explosion was due to a summoning gone awry and everyone that got caught up had their physical bodies vanished.”

It finally clicked. The reason why KAA104 was a unique case is that the ISA could never recover any bodies from the wreckage.

“So, you’re telling me an awry summoning is the culprit. Wait. But that isn’t how most isekai work though. One has to be dead….”

I scoffed at what I just heard and Gvene gave me a shoulder shrug.

“Well that’s what happened. And we did meet a goddess and she handled our transition from our old world to the new world.”

Gvene paused to take a sip from the cup.

“Everyone gotten their own new bodies and cheats. As for me I asked her if I could have the body of my game avatar and access to firearms as my cheat power.”

I took a sip from my own cup before I made eye contact to Gvene.

“What was the catch?”

Gvene brought out her thinking hat from what I assume to be her version of the ‘Inventory’.

“All the goddess asked of us is to further develop her world and to help her creations to subdue a demon lord from destroying the world… type of cliché.”

She took another sip from the cup.

“At first the world was changing for the best. Well that was before that ‘Hero’ came. And shit went to hell after. Some religious cult popped up outta thin air in the continent to the East and a huge war followed. That war alone stalled the technological advancements. Umu, I’ll tell ya the shit we made back then was revolutionary. Mana infused crystals powered almost everything including boosting magic powers. And now we are stuck in some fantasy steampunk shit time.”

Gvene gulped down the last drop and threw the cup back to me. I caught it and stored it back into my inventory.

“How long had it been since the war?”

Gvene raised up four fingers.

“Four centuries. That’s how long and now that group is now calling themselves the ‘Filma Faith’. We’ve been fighting against their influence ever since and let’s just say, it is not going well. They are somehow winning the nobles over. And their so called ‘Avatars’ is causing this world to decline even more.”

I noticed a blip on my motion tracker, and it was color coded red. I took out a small recording device and tossed it out Gvene. She caught it with a dumbfound look.

“What is this?”

I point my index finger at her and gave her the ‘down low’ gesture. She immediately caught on that we got unexpected guest.

“Gvene. We’ll talk more later after we dealt with these ‘guests”

Gvene nodded as I drew my M16A1 from my back. I proceeded to lay prone facing the direction where the first red dot was detected while aiming down the sight.
