[Shephard: Do you have the DSM?
Ghost: We got it, sir!
Shephard: Good. That’s one less loose end.
-gunshot-
Ghost: NO!
-gunshot-
Price: Ghost! Come in! This is Price! We’re under attack by Shephard’s men at the boneyard! Soap, hold the left flank! Do not trust Shephard- I say again, do not trust Shephard! Soap get down!]
Goddamn, this scene gets me every time. The biggest betrayal in gaming history and the reason behind my distrust in others when I always party up in matchmaking. I am currently killing time watching some old video games cutscenes while my body is still hijacked.
Taking some time off from watching the videos, I glanced around the room and its quite an extravagant room belonging to the ‘Filma Faith’, the dominant religious faith in the eastern part of the human continent. From what I can gather from their conversations, this faith worships the six Gods that were recently introduced through one of their heroes that got summoned to this world a few centuries ago. It was a sneaky tactic by inserting one of their own and pretty much when their hero got enough publicity, that hero lead a revolt against the old faith. I zoned out on the non-important small talks however one topic piqued my interest. They were discussing plans on using the 100 people to completely wipe out the last remnants of the old faith’s follower and their gods.
“Well that is one juicy intel but I can’t do jack squat since I am still powerless to kick this god dam pain in the ass archangel outta my goddamn body”
As I mentally spoke out my thought, a bunch of windows started popping all over my vision to the point it almost completely covered in windows. All of them were ‘Alert’ messages indicating that my level isn’t high enough to execute a particular skill. I mentally sighed and decided to do the one thing I keep delaying.
“Might as well get this over with. ‘Status’. OH! And play ‘‘No Time To Die'’.”

A ‘Status’ window popped up followed with a secondary window behind it. I thoroughly scanned through the window that popped up first.

I could see that my name is the character name that I made on a whim. I noticed a couple new categories that weren’t there before such as ‘Alias’ and ’Race’. I also saw that all my stats were reset back to the time I made this character so that did explain why I couldn’t use a lot of the higher ranked skills. Feeling satisfied since I did not find any other abnormalities with my status window, I pulled out the second window which was the ‘Skill Tree’ and was shocked at how limited my options were. Only five basic skills were available for me to use and none of them could help me to get out of my captivity situation.
[Sprint: At the cost of accuracy, your movement speed is temporarily increased. Can be deactivated at a full stop or cover stop.
Cover to Cover: When in cover, will automatically activate ‘Sprint’ to get to cover within your Field of View.
Arm Shield: An active forcefield in the shape of a riot shield, can project the user from small arms fire. Larger caliber or force can cripple the shield. CD: 1 minute.
StimShot: Heals your health. If your health is at full, the Stimshot will activate ‘Overdrive’ temporarily increasing health by 50%.
Armor Heal: Quickly swap out the destroyed armor for a fresh one.]
“Man. Of fucking course I have to start with the shitty basic skills”
While I was complaining about my skills, I browsed from the active section of the ‘Skill Tree’ to the passive section and noticed one skill wasn’t locked and it was active. The ‘T-Doll Link’ skill is a rank cap unlock and yet this skill was not locked while my entire rank was reset back to Private. I attempted to turn it off but was greeted with an ‘Error’ window.
[Level Too Low. Cannot Toggle Off.]
Another message popped out not a second too soon after my failed attempt to turn off that link skill.
[T-doll dummy target acquired. Acquiring Link from Target to Host.]
[Connection established. Awaiting execution command.]
Wait a minute. I vaguely remember one skill that can forcibly execute a passive skill of their choosing and I definitely know the only player that does this.
“It can’t be!”
[Execution Command Authorized.]
Before I could mentally shout out the players name, the final message popped up. The next thing I knew, I could see my vision being pulled from my body and the fast motion blurs that followed hampered my sight. As the blurs began to slow down, I heard a familiar feminine voice coming from my left side.
“I can’t believe that worked!”
