< let's start from the top, name race and class speak for themselves. Stats are Strength, Dexterity Stamina Intelligence Willpower, and Charisma. Strength is how much you can carry and lift and partly how much damage you do with melee weapons. Dexterity is everything from sleight hand movements to balance and speed, it also affects accuracy with both ranged and melee weapons. Stamina affects your health points or HP, it also affects how tired you get from swinging a sword around or doing things in heavier armor. Now to the bit more intangibles, the mental attributes. Intelligence is how smart you are, how fast you learn new things, and how damaging your intelligence-based spells are. Willpower affects your mana points or MP and how fast it regenerates. It also affects the few spells that are willpower-based, which are mostly mind-based spells, it also affects your own resistance to those same spells. Charisma is the most misunderstood, most people think it's how good you look. But it's mostly about how well you are at convincing other people, It's also the one that can fluctuate the most. Having a good pair of clothes on might give you a charisma boost when talking to a noble, but might give you a debuff when talking to the thieves guild for instance. Did you get that so far, any questions?>

“Seems mostly straightforward to me.”

“Any paths that have downsides?”

“Do I have to use up my points before I level or can I wait?”

I just nodded deep in thought thinking about the current paths that I had available to me.

“What do you mean have experience?”

“Before I go any other advice?”

And with that I was teleported back to the same table I was at before.

“Welcome back, even tho for me it was only a couple of seconds. When you take the test, Dave does some kind of timey-wimy stuff as he likes to call it, and to outside observers, the test never takes longer than a few seconds no matter how long someone is in there.”

Grim showed up next to me with a plop and a big grin on his face. After getting the same explanation from Janet, he said “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”

And with a chuckle, we compared notes.
