In this world, there are several maps of Shigong Temple, and they are immensely difficult to acquire. When you look at the map, you can see that the grounds of the temple comprise an area with a diameter of about twenty li. Simply walking from the Southern Gate to the Northern Gate would take several hours of nonstop walking. In the very center of the temple grounds is a large structure, and there is another walled off area to the west.

In the outer area of Shigong Temple, there are basically three areas where the outer disciples are congregated: North District, East District, and South District. The temple is so large that disciples rarely leave their district simply because travel would take too long.

New outer disciples typically live in the East District; this is where the vast majority of people in Shigong Temple live. Lower-level outer disciples labor in obscurity in the eastern portion of the temple, and some favored mortal merchants are allowed to sell their wares here. In the East District, items considered the height of luxury are sold, though these goods are nothing compared to the treasures created by the inner disciples. Those staying in the East District typically live in large dorms with dozens of other disciples, and fights often break out among them.

The North and South Districts are very similar, though the South District is typically considered more prestigious because important visitors to the temple arrive through the Southern Gate, and everyone else uses the Northern Gate. Higher-level outer disciples who live in these districts typically live in their own small homes that, while not very extravagant, allow a significant amount of privacy.
