Shu’s eyes lit up as he realized what Jack had been aiming for. Everything fell into place as he realized that Jack had already started cleaning up the house from the vermin. The aggressive faction had been betting on the known fact that Jack’s Dantian was destroyed, meaning that he had no known means to progress in the future.
Also, they thought that he had no more strength on his own as well and as soon as the security relaxed, they can make their move. However, this move Jack made, showed to everyone that he was even stronger and more dangerous than before. What did cultivators respect? That was strength. Strong were respected and the weak were looked down upon, so the fastest and best way to clean the house was to display his dominance.
The sorry figure of the scholar spat out a mouthful of blood as he looked at Jack. This time, there wasn’t any ridicule in his eyes but pure horror. It wouldn’t matter if he lost in a straight up fight but he had currently gotten beaten like a sorry dog without being even able to do anything.
When he thought back to the smile Jack had had, he also realized that he had just danced on Jack’s palm like a little marionette, doing exactly what Jack dictated.
Thinking back to blatant threat he had given to Jack, he wanted to curse his own pride. Just as he was about to open his mouth, an archaic voice echoed out inside the hall, “Junior, don’t you think that you went a bit too far?!”
There was rage evident in the voice and with a boom, the doors to the banquet hall had opened up. A wrinkled old man in black robes was standing in the air, looking down on the sorry sight of the tall man.
His eyes flashed with rage as he pointed his finger towards Jack and yelled, “YOU DARE ATTACK ONE OF OUR SEVEN-!”
“PIPE THE FUCK DOWN BRAT!” His yell was cut short as he suddenly felt an extremely oppressive aura weighed down on him. He plummeted towards the ground and with a *BOOM*, he was nailed to the floor. Even Jack gulped as his pupils contracted and he looked towards a corner in the distance.
In the corner, an old man that had been leisurely sipping tea, was now looking towards the old man in black robes that had appeared. Shu also gulped as he recognized the figure of the old man sitting in the corner. However, neither him or Jack had even noticed when he had entered the hall and taken seat there.
The old man then put on a gentle expression as he sized up Jack and nodded his head, “Good, good. You have guts little fellow. You take right after your Master.” Jack looked at the old man and suddenly felt powerlessness take over him as he looked at the old man’s eyes. He felt as though he had been plunged into an abyss.
Jack cupped his hands and bowed towards the old man and said, “I thank Senior for the assistance.” Everyone’s face were astonished as they saw Jack genuinely lower his head for the first time that night. Usually, he gave a half hearted bow in thanks and no one minded because they themselves would do the same but seeing him give a genuine bow made them all shocked.
The Senior just waved his sleeve as he said, “Don’t mind, don’t mind. That’s why I am here for anyway, to make sure no egoistic prick caused trouble for you.” As he said that, his gaze wandered to the old man that had been pressed to the ground from the sheer pressure that the Senior was excluding.
The old man’s eyes fell onto Jack again as he said, “The Heavenly Patriarch has high expectations of you, so do the rest of us. To give you the most optimal training environment, we will do our best to make sure nothing disturbs you.” Jack nodded his head as he had already realized that this old man was someone that the Heavenly Cosmoses had assigned on his protection detail.
Jack knew that the old man that had barged through the doors was in the mid stages of the Origin Realm and for him to be so hard pressed to the ground with pressure only, the Senior in the corner, had long surpassed the Dao Seeking Realm.
Seeing the banquet play out like this, Shu immediately stood up and said, “Well, since things have come to this, I am sorry to announce the end of the banquet as it seems like we need to clean up a bit. I truly am sorry for ending the banquet so much earlier.” As Shu said so with a businessman like smile, everyone understood the meaning behind the words.
The banquet had served it’s purpose of showcasing Jack’s own might and also the might of the backing he currently had. Only a fool wouldn’t be able to see that Virbeth will not leave Jack’s hands and he was someone that no one will be able to touch from now on. Since they were all part of major Clans or Sects, they also knew of the Planar War and after hearing that the Heavenly Patriarch had high expectation of Jack, they knew that Jack was going to play a key role in the next Planar War and only a complete retard would try to harm Jack now.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
All the passive factions glanced at the aggressive factions with an amused gaze, as if asking them, “Now that you have dug this hole, are you going to jump into it?” This was exactly their current situation as they had so blatantly tried to pick a fight and show their dominance to Jack. All the representatives present paid their respects to Jack and the Senior old man in the corner as they quickly left the hall. They could guess that Jack was not going to leave poisonous vipers by his side and the next few days are going to be interesting.
When the hall was emptied out, only Shu, Jack, the Senior from before and the two from the Seven Giant Sect were left in the hall. Seven Giants Sect was no pushover either as they had over 30 Origin Realm Experts in their Dao Reserve. Every single man counted in the War, so it was not beneficial to diminish their own strength before the War even started. The Senior looked at the old man in black robes and said, “I thought you received very strict instructions not to cause any problems for Jack. I don’t care about your petty little gathering of idiots but are you truly retarded enough to put your own shallow pride over the future of the Plane?!”
As the Senior interrogated in a cold voice, even Shu felt chills run down his back. It was evident that the old man was currently quite pissed off about the conduct of these two from the Seven Giants Sect.
The man in black robes lowered his head in fear as he said, “I-” Before he could justify himself, the old Senior snorted and the old man felt his vision go black as he lost consciousness. The tall man in the centre of the crater had breathed his last breath a while ago and no one paid him any attention.
The old Senior turned to Jack and passed a ring to him as he said, “Inside this Spacial Ring are the resources provided to you by all the Heaven Cosmoses. Inside are also mansions of knowledge left behind by Raelag for his successor. None of us has any use for it as we have no inkling of a way to decipher it.” As the old man passed the ring to Jack, Jack bound the ring with his Energy from the Crystal Core.
Jack briefly looked over all of the things inside the ring and to his astonishment, there were various rare herbs and elixirs that did not exist in their Cosmos. The old man also gave him a jade slip and said, “Here is the list of things inside the Ring and also what is the best way to use them.” As he said that, the old man gave a smile as he swept out his sleeve again and the old man from Seven Giants Sect gently floated off the ground.
He then looked at Jack and said, “I will keep watch over you from the shadows, so you can recall your little scouts and have no fear, nothing will happen to you on my watch.” As the old man smiled, he disappeared from the big hall together with the old man from the Seven Giants Sect. From the beginning to the end, Jack felt incredibly tense.
Now that the old man had left, Jack let out a deep breath of relief as he asked, “Who was he?” Shu also let out a breath of relief as he said, “His name is Xia Hao. He is the right hand man of the Heavenly Patriarch and his strength is second only to the Heavenly Patriarch. I honestly didn’t expect for him to take charge of the protection detail.”
Mixed in with Shu’s words was a bit of bitterness. To have the second strongest person in the Plane look after you like a babysitter…. It would take no genius to understand how much importance they placed on Jack during this War. Jack also felt the weight on his shoulder multiply as he reached the same conclusion as Shu.
Although Shu had said that no matter what the outcome was, no one is going to hold him responsible because all of this was shoved on his shoulders with no way out, he still felt as though he can’t slack off in the least.
Since all the formalities had been finished, there were no more things that required Jacks attention and this banquet also helped him take care of the vermin problem he had, so now he can fully focus on training his Magic and also cultivating his body. He had already thought of how his future fighting style is going to be. Now all he had to do was make it a reality.
He also had to think of a name for his new path and also find the perfect Body Cultivating Art to go with his Flame Angel Art that Raelag left behind as his Legcay. With the banquet finished, Jack went back to his Mansion and slowly immersed himself familiarizing himself with the Flame Angel Art and also, he looked at the Body Cultivating Art left behind.
As he browsed through all the Arts he currently had in his possession, he found a few that were suitable. They had a few conflicting things with his Flame Angel Art but they didn’t majorly conflict with Art.
As he was browsing through the Body Arts, he suddenly stopped on one that seemed as though it was specifically tailored to him. This Art didn’t come from Raelag’s collection but rather from the Spacial Ring given to him by Xia Hao. The Arts name was [Seven Flames Saint] and it mainly focused on refining the body with seven different attributes. When successfully practised, the person will have a body tempered by the seven elements and will be able to control flames of seven different elements.
Each of the flames will have different properties and will strengthen the body in different way. For example, the Fire attribute will give him explosive strength far superior to others of the same level while the Earth Attribute will give him a tougher body and will increase both his physical strength as well as reinforce the toughness of his body, making it impervious to a certain degree.
As a Mage that had an abnormally good affinity with Fire, this Art seemed like it was custom made for him.
Jack also wondered whether he would be able to incorporate the Seven Flames into his own flames.
