Chapter 15: Separation

Separation

Nappa pressed his boot down upon Goku's skull, trying to crack it. "Why do you have to be so thick-headed, Kakarot?"

Goku's face was pressed against the ground, his thoughts swirling. His friends' lives depended on him, yet he was helpless. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Tien and Yamcha charging at Nappa, their faces contorted with determination and fear. They were fighting with everything they had, even knowing the odds were against them.

With a sneer, Nappa unleashed a blast of energy in their direction. Both Tien and Yamcha crossed their arms to shield themselves, but the force of the blast sent them flying.

Vegeta snickered as he watched. These Earthlings just didn't know when to quit. The sight of Goku, the strongest of them all, pinned and helpless under Nappa's boot, made him chuckle. "Pathetic," he muttered, his gaze sweeping the battlefield.

Suddenly, a strange whizzing sound caught his attention. It was faint at first but quickly grew louder. Vegeta's eyes narrowed as he tried to pinpoint the source. "Huh?"

Then he saw it—a glint of energy spinning rapidly towards him. He leaped into the air just in time to avoid the spinning disc of ki that sliced through the space he'd occupied moments before. "What?!"

The disc hurtled toward Nappa with incredible speed.

"Nappa! Watch out!" Vegeta shouted.

But it was too late.

Nappa felt a searing pain before everything went numb. As he began to black out, his grip on Gohan loosened, and Gohan dropped to the ground.

Gohan's eyes widened in horror as he turned to see Nappa's decapitated body, blood spurting from the neck. With a thump, the body fell backwards.

Vegeta's mouth dropped open. If that had hit him too... When he turned to see where the attack had come from, disbelief washed over him. "WHAT?! That's preposterous!"

Standing there, panting, was an injured Krillin.

Vegeta glared at the short fighter in rage. The midget had almost managed to kill him! Unbelievable!

Krillin grinned, satisfied. His new technique, the Destructo Disc, had worked. A sharp, spinning disc of energy that could cut through almost anything! He had hoped to take out both Saiyans, but he wasn't going to complain. Never had he thought that he would be the one to finally put an end to the big Saiyan.

Both Tien and Yamcha lay injured on the ground.

Tien, dazed and confused, tried to make sense of the situation. 'Nappa's ki has totally disappeared. How?' It was his last thought before slipping into unconsciousness.

Piccolo, meanwhile, slowly stood up, rubbing his neck where Nappa had struck him. "Krillin, you sly dog," he said with a grin.

Gohan stood beside his dad, who was now slowly getting to his feet. Goku let out a sigh of relief as he looked at Nappa's corpse. "Phew! That was close. I will make a point to never let my gaurd down against any of these guys again. They sure don't have any honor in fighting."

Gohan nodded, his relief evident. The fact that his father was alive and well was all that mattered to him.

Vegeta landed on the ground, arms crossed over his chest. He turned to face Krillin, who stood at a distance. "I will get you for that," he said calmly but menacingly.

Krillin shivered in his place, horrified. 'Crap. He has his eye on me now.'

Goku stood straight, facing Vegeta. The air between them crackled with tension.

A gust of wind blew, shaking both Saiyans' hair. It was a silent signal that the battle was far from over.

Vegeta chuckled as he eyed Kakarot, his expression one of twisted amusement. "Kakarot, you and your friends will all pay."

Gohan stood tensed, his young heart pounding in his chest. The fear of losing his father again gnawed at him.

Got it! If Goku receiving the Senzu bean is crucial, we can adjust the sequence so that he gets it before Vegeta destroys the rest. Here's a revised version where Goku receives the bean but the tension and humor remain intact:

The battlefield was tense, the air thick with the weight of Nappa's defeat. Vegeta's piercing gaze remained fixed on Goku, who stood poised, ready for the next inevitable clash.

Suddenly, the distant hum of a motorcycle echoed across the battlefield, momentarily breaking the tense silence. Goku's focus remained on Vegeta, while Vegeta's eyes narrowed, irritated by the distraction.

As the sound grew louder, Krillin's curiosity got the better of him. "What in the world...?"

A familiar figure came speeding into view, huddled over a motorcycle—Yajirobe.

Oblivious to the chaos around him, Yajirobe's eyes were glued to his phone. Only when he looked up did he notice something directly in his path: the decapitated head of Nappa, glaring lifelessly at him.

"ARGH!" Yajirobe screamed, slamming the brakes and sending himself flying from the bike.

Bam!

Krillin blinked as Yajirobe landed with a thud beside him. The rotund swordsman dusted himself off as if nothing had happened, trying to maintain some sense of composure.

"Dramatic entrance, Yajirobe," Krillin muttered with a smirk.

"Do me a favor and keep your stinking mouth shut," Yajirobe snapped back, his face red with embarassment.

Vegeta eyed the newcomer carefully, feeling an almost irresistible urge to punch the fat man. The absurdity of the situation made his anger bubble just beneath the surface.

Goku grinned. "Hey, if it isn't Yajirobe! I was wondering why you weren't around."

Yajirobe snickered. "Well, I had some serious warming up to do." He then took out a bag from his pocket. "Guess what I've got."

Gohan's eyes lit up. It was the Senzu beans, a lifeline in this desperate situation.

Yajirobe took out a bean and threw it to Goku, who caught it with a sense of urgency.

"What about me?" asked Krillin, but Yajirobe ignored him, the tension between them momentarily forgotten.

Goku broke the bean in two and knelt down to Gohan's level. "Here, take this, son."

Gohan shook his head. "Don't waste it on me, Dad." His voice was filled with concern and selflessness.

Goku grinned, his eyes softening. "Come on! I'm your dad! Do as I say!" His voice was firm, a reminder of the bond they shared.

Reluctantly, Gohan took the bean and ate it, feeling the warmth and healing spread through him. As he chewed, he looked into his father's eyes, seeing the unwavering love and determination that had kept his dad going through the toughest of battles.

Vegeta's brow twitched. Those healing beans again. His frustration simmered.

Yajirobe smirked at Krillin. "I might give you one if you truly beg... at my feet."

Krillin looked taken aback. "What?!"

Suddenly, the sound of a blast echoed.

Yajirobe's mouth dropped open in horror. He fell on his back, trembling.

The bag of Senzu beans had been reduced to ashes.

"No," Yajirobe mouthed, lying on his back. "These were the last of them. The next batch will take months. What am I supposed to satisfy my hunger with?"

Vegeta stood with his hand extended, deciding to kill the fat man last and only destroying the bag of healing beans for now.

Goku looked worried, his eyes darting between his friends and the menacing Vegeta. "Piccolo," he called out, his voice tense.

"Yes," the green fighter replied, his tone serious.

"I have a favor to ask. Take Gohan and get as far away as possible."

Piccolo nodded, feeling slightly awkward taking orders from his former nemesis. Nonetheless, he did care for Gohan and understood the gravity of the request.

Goku continued, his voice steady but his heart pounding. "Krillin, you take Yamcha. Yajirobe, you take Tien."

Yajirobe grumbled, crossing his arms in defiance. However his usual bravado was about to fade..

"Do as I say!" Goku shouted uncharacteristically, startling Yajirobe. The force of his command cut through the tension, making it clear that this was not a time for arguments.

Gohan didn't look in the mood to go. "But, Dad..." His voice wavered, a mixture of fear and desperation.

The boy suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up. It was Piccolo, his expression stern yet compassionate.

The Namekian narrowed his eyes. "You saw what just happened, Gohan. Your father needs you to be safe."

Gohan looked down, his heart heavy with conflicting emotions. His dad and Piccolo were right. He didn't want to be used by the Saiyans again.

Piccolo jumped and landed beside Tien. He put the injured Tien over his shoulder and took off, followed by Gohan, whose eyes were filled with a mixture of sadness and determination.

Krillin, meanwhile, put an unconscious Yamcha over his shoulder and jumped, but was startled as someone grabbed his leg.

"You can't leave me here!" Yajirobe shouted, panic lacing his voice. "You know I can't fly!"

Krillin shook off Yajirobe's grip, his patience wearing thin. "Well, it's not my fault. I can't believe you didn't learn to fly despite all of Mr. Popo's threats. Gotta tell him now."

With that, Krillin took off, leaving behind a fuming Yajirobe. The fat man dashed towards his bike, kickstarted it, and sped away, grumbling to himself.

Vegeta watched calmly as Kakarot's friends fled, a sinister smirk playing on his lips. Well, they weren't going anywhere. He would hunt each of them down with Nappa's scouter after dealing with Goku first.

Goku took a deep breath, his mind focused on the battle ahead. He could feel the weight of his responsibility pressing down on him. The lives of his friends, family and everyone else on the planet was hanging in the balance. The finale was about to begin, and he knew there was no room for error.

The air grew thicker with anticipation, the silence only broken by the distant hum of Yajirobe's bike. The battlefield seemed to hold its breath, awaiting the clash of titans that was about to unfold.

To be continued...
