Chapter 1: One body, three memories

On a sunny afternoon day, within a range of tall mountains covered in a dense layer of green vegetation, one can hear the sounds of many beasts of the land and air going about doing their daily activities. Some are hunting for food while others are being hunted down as food. Some are also fighting with each other for territories. However, all of these beasts have one thing in common; each one possesses terrifying powers that are enough to destroy a city inhabited by normal humans.

Suddenly, an uproarious laughter sounded within a mountain range. The laughter managed to scare the beasts so much that they abandoned whatever they were doing and hid themselves inside the first place they can find.

“I did it! I finally did it!” shouted the voice. “I finally understand the secret to reincarnation. I can finally run away from those bastards and hide myself in one of the lower realms. They will never expect me to do something like this at all. When the time comes where I become much stronger than I currently am, I will get back at them for chasing after me for so long.”

When the voice ended, a streak of light can be seen rising up from one of the mountains up into the sky, piercing through the clouds. From the distance, waves of powerful spiritual undulations can be felt approaching. When it ended, two figures can be seen floating on top of the mountains.

“Damn it! We let him get away” said one of them. “We missed the chance of snatching that treasure from him.”

The other person replied, “He better hide himself well otherwise he is going to suffer a lot when we catch him.”

After saying these words, both of them flew away into the distance. All the beasts slowly came out of hiding while looking at the sky with fear.

Meanwhile on earth

A group of two boys and one girl were walking down the road as they finished school. They all appeared to be discussing a new game that is going to be released with a great amount of interest. Clearly, it must be something really popular among the youth judging by how enthusiastic they were.

“I can’t wait to try out the all new game called Sword Art Online when I get back home.” Said Wu Tian, the only girl in the group.

“Yeah, I can’t believe how long the line to the store was on the day the game was out on sale. Good thing we waited in line all night in front of the store, else we would not have been able to get a copy.” Added his friend Li Di while pumping his fists into the air.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Let’s quickly go back to our homes so that we can log in as soon as the game launches in about an hour.” Said Li Ming, the third guy in the group. He was the most excited among the three as he had always dreamed of becoming a warrior in a fantasy world.

Everyone agreed to what Li Ming said as they were all eager to reach home as early as possible to take care of all their necessary tasks so that they can log into the game and play without anything to stop them. Hence, after saying goodbye to each other, they all went their separate ways at the crossing.

However, just as Li Ming was crossing road, a group of reckless boys riding a motorcycle appeared at his side of the road. As they wanted to avoid waiting for the green signal, the rider decided to speed up and ignore the red signal and go through the crossing. As a result, when Li Ming appeared in front of them, the rider got panicked and used the brakes as hard as he good. This caused the motorcycle to skid across the road and crash onto Li Ming.

Li Ming did not expect that anyone would try to break the signal. Therefore, he was careless while crossing the footpath and ended up in the motorcycle’s trajectory. When he finally noticed, it was already too late. The motorcycle had already appeared in front of him. The sudden misfortune that appeared in front of him rendered him completely immobile due to fear. Thus, he could not avoid his fate and got ran over.

The sudden noise of the accident prompted Li Ming’s friends who were nearby to turn back to look at what was going on. When they realised that their good friend was involved in the accident, both of them rushed up to him. At this point, all the nearby vehicles had stopped around them. There were also a few voices shouting for someone to call an ambulance and the police as soon as possible.

When they could finally see him clearly, they were horrified to see the injuries that he had sustained. There, Li Ming lay on the road in a pool of his own blood. The impact from the motorcycle had flung him a few meters back into the middle of the crossing where cars and busses were crossing. If Li Ming could somehow survive the crash, he certainly would not survive being run over by a bus.

Seeing this horrifying sight, Wu Tian with a pale face started to fall to the ground. The nearby Li Di quickly extended his hands to support her from falling. After receiving support from Li Di, she started to wail hysterically on his chest.

(Author’s Note: That is why you should always stick to traffic rules when riding or driving on the road. While walking, always be aware of the surrounding vehicles to avoid such a thing happening in real life.)

At night in the Douluo Continent

Inside a cottage in a village on the outskirts of the capital city of Star Luo Empire, Star Luo City, a young girl lay on her bed soundly sleeping. The innocent expression on her face while sleeping would make anyone looking at her want to pinch her cheeks. Suddenly, the girl opened her eyes as if something had startled her awake.

“Where am I?” the girl groaned as she sat up with a confused mind. A lot of memories started flashing in her mind. After some time, she said, “I remember now, my name is Li Ming. Why am I still alive? I thought I died in that accident. Where is this place, and why does my voice sound funny?”

As she said those words, she looked down at her body. Noticing that something was off, she quickly removed the blanket that was covering her body. When she saw what was underneath the covers, she got the fright of her life. There lay on the bed a girl who had yet to reach puberty. Suppressing her urge to scream, she thought, “Why am I a girl? How did I end up in this body?” A lot of questions started to fill her mind at this point.

Suddenly, she entered into another state of epiphany. This time, it lasted for a shorter period of time. When it ended, a lot of things became clearer to her. She had received the memories of the young girl from the time she started to remember things to the present.

“So my name is now Li Tian Tian. I seem to be six years old this year. I seem to be living in a place close to Star Luo City of the Star Luo Empire in the Douluo Continent.” As she thought up to this point, she lay back down on the bed and fell asleep, as her body became tired from the sudden douse of memories it received in a short period of time. As she lay sleeping, her tired mind started to assimilate all the new memories so that her body can adjust to the sudden increase in information.
