Chapter 1: I Can Make Zombies

Chapter 1: I Can Make Zombies

It's the year 3255, the third year of the Apocalypse.

Location: A residential building on the outskirts of Tianfang City in the Dragon Kingdom of parallel world – Blue Planet.

Lin Long went to the window at the top of the floor, lifted his binoculars, and started scanning the world outside. Through the lenses, he could see endless zombies aimlessly wandering on the city streets. Their devastating numbers and distorted faces sent shivers down his spine.

After a while, he put down the binoculars, cold sweat breaking out on his forehead as a product of fear. The idea of the end of the world, zombies that once seemed so far-fetched to him were now lurking nearby.

However, Lin Long was not a native of this apocalyptical world. He was a young man from the 21st-century Earth, who had mysteriously received a Zombie Creation System while playing a game.

He was given three days to prepare by the Zombie Creation System before being forcefully transported to the Apocalypse. During these three days, Lin Long lived in constant terror, suppressing his fears in order to brace himself for the dystopian adventure that lay ahead.

Being a regular man, Lin Long was devoid of weaponry. He managed to equip himself with a sharp alloy knife, a dubious bulletproof vest, a steel helmet, a one-hand shield, and a small first-aid kit along with some food and water.

When the three days ended, he was transported to the apocalyptic world. His return to Earth was due three days later. This parallel world, Blue Star, was technologically advanced by around thirty years.

The Apocalypse had been triggered three years ago, and although Lin Long had limited access to information, he understood the risks that came along with it. Due to a virus mutation, zombies became extremely powerful, and even humans who survived had activated their gene chains, unlocking supernatural abilities.

Despite possessing this system, he remained a regular man. Back in this world, he was as defenseless as a chicken.

“The only good news is that I can teleport back to Earth after three days. I just need to endure these three days, then I can escape this damn Apocalypse,” said Lin Long, glancing at the sky outside. It was midday.

He wasn't sure if his wristwatch had adjusted to the time of this world.

“System, I've arrived at the Apocalypse. What should I do next?” asked Lin Long.

“Create your first zombie,” the system directed.

As Lin Long fixed his gaze on the bizarre zombie icon, he received its information:

Ordinary Zombie Product

Level: 1

Price: 10000

Creation Points: 10

Note: The most basic zombie model from the system. All elements including gender, age, appearance, and integrity are random.

He quickly realized that his assets were not abilities, but wealth.

Fund: 21000

Creation Points: 10

Two sets of simple figures.

Lin Long quickly understood, the two thousand and one hundred were his life savings.

The manufacturing points were gifts from the system.

"System, manufacture a regular zombie," Lin Long instructed.

Suddenly, he was deducted 10,000—along with 10 manufacturing points.

Eerily, countless light particles appeared before him, illuminating the room.

These particles formed the shape of a zombie in just the blink of an eye.

A desiccated middle-aged zombie staggered before Lin Long.

Its ghastly white cheeks bore holes that writhed with maggots.

The zombie wore a filthy white shirt stained with dry blood.

Its gray eyes bled a black liquid and reeked of putridity.

When the middle-aged zombie manifested, it turned its eyes toward Lin Long.

"Hu..."Lin Long was naturally startled, stepping back a few paces.

The zombie before him was just like the other zombies outside—a stereotypical product of the apocalypse.

"My sincere congratulations on manufacturing your first zombie, now you need to command this zombie to fight for you.

"With the guidance of the system, Lin Long quickly learned how to control a zombie.

Any zombie produced by the zombie manufacturing system can be remotely controlled by Lin Long through his thoughts.

Lin Long discovered that he could multitask.

In the next moment, Lin Long realized that he could merge his consciousness with the zombie.

The swap in perspective was extraordinarily fascinating.

Viewing the world through the zombie's eyes revealed a gray world.

Lin Long decided to experiment, waving his limbs, and his actions mirrored by the zombie with no delay.

Aside from the lack of expressions, the zombie was practically an extension of Lin Long.

"Try to kill the first zombie and earn manufacturing points."Upon hearing the system's prompt, Lin Long hadn't hesitated.

He controlled the zombie and walked towards the door.

However, Lin Long quickly commanded the zombie to return, took the alloy blade from the actual body, and, holding the alloy blade, sauntered out of the building.

"System, if I control the zombie like this and go out, will other zombies attack?"Lin Long asked.

"Zombies produced by the zombie manufacturing system are essentially the same as other zombies."The system's answer reassured Lin Long.

Zombies generally won't attack each other; the hordes of zombies bunched together in the streets didn't attack their kind.

Receiving the answer he wanted, Lin Long could relax.

Under Lin Long's control, the zombie detached from the residential building and headed towards Tianwei city.

While approaching Tianwei city, isolated zombies could be seen on the highway.

These zombies had aimlessly strayed from the city.

Despite the system's reassurance, Lin Long still felt a bit nervous.

He guided the zombie proxy step by step towards one of the highway zombies.

This zombie was severely decomposed and didn't react to the approaching zombie proxy.

"Perfect opportunity!"Under Lin Long's control, the zombie proxy stood behind the decomposed zombie, and without any hesitation, lifted the alloy blade in its hand.

"Shh!"The swing of the blade decapitated the zombie, and the force accompanied by the deadly sharpness of the alloy blade severed the head cleanly from the neck.

"You have received one manufacturing point.

"After killing the zombie, the system's voice rang out again.

Undisturbed by the zombie's action, the surrounding zombies, completely void of consciousness or thought, wandered aimlessly.

Their drive, an instinctive desire only awakened by the breath of life and strange noises, would march them toward their target in the most extreme and violent fashion.

Lin Long, who was initially anxious, finally felt at ease.

"An attack from one's own kind is the deadliest."Without thinking too much, gaining a single manufacturing point from an ordinary zombie required killing ten.

While they were unguarded, earning ten manufacturing points wouldn't pose much of a challenge.

Lin Long once again maneuvered the zombie, quietly approaching another large, fat zombie.

With one swift swing, the obese zombie's head was cleaved, toppling it to the ground.

The system announced, "You have received 1 manufacturing point.

"

Lin Long cracked a smile, finding these ten points to be easily obtainable.

The zombies here were utterly at his mercy, and they would never comprehend why their kind would stab them from behind—it almost reminded him of leveling up in a game.

To put it more precisely, it was even simpler.

As long as the angles of the swings were well-adjusted, one swing could kill a zombie effortlessly.

The zombies simply stood still, barely reacting.

In just a couple of minutes, he had managed to eliminate ten zombies and accrue ten manufacturing points.

Lin Long immediately ordered the zombie proxy to return.

After exiting the control mode, Lin Long issued another command: "Manufacture an ordinary zombie.

" He had enough funds to create one more ordinary zombie, and after amassing sufficient manufacturing points, he could begin production.

The system received the order as light particles once again formed before Lin Long.

Moments later, a white-collar female zombie dressed in professional attire manifested before him, her face surprisingly well preserved, though horribly pale.

Her black stockings were riddled with holes, exuding a certain alluring charm amid the fear.

Lin Long propped his chin in his hand, circling the white-collar female zombie, nodding appreciatively.

Before her undeath, she must certainly have been an attractive woman with an exemplary figure.

However, in an apocalypse, she was simply another mound of rotting flesh.

No matter how beautiful a woman was, once zombified, they all evoked repulsion.

Lin Long uttered, "An excellent degree of completeness," revealing a satisfied smile.

He was worried that the zombies he would manufacture would be missing an arm or a leg, significantly reducing practicality.

Given his limited funds at the moment, he could only afford to produce two zombies.

The system's zombies could be manipulated at will—every order he issued would be

faithfully executed by the zombies.

If need be, Lin Long could take direct control of the zombies, dictating their every move.

"Stay at the entrance and guard it," Lin Long instructed the white-collar female zombie.

She immediately complied, standing at the entrance of the residential building, effectively blocking it.

The uncle zombie, created first, stationed himself at the other side of the entrance.

 The two zombies stood guard.

Feeling his hunger pangs, Lin Long pulled a can of meat from his backpack and wolfed it down.

After eating his fill, he settled onto a dilapidated couch.

He pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, flicked one out, lit it, and began puffing in silence.

After manufacturing two zombies, Lin Long was left with a little over a thousand yuan.

"Next, I need to find money," he stated.

In the post-apocalyptic world, scavenging for wealth was the most anticipated endeavor.

The virus spread throughout the entire globe, and everything in the city became unclaimed property.

As long as you had the capability, everything was yours to take.

Many survivors eyed the city with its abundant food supply and valuable metals like gold.

In the apocalypse, food was the top priority, followed by gold.

Diamonds and silver were not within the consideration range of survivors.

As society crumbled in the face of the apocalypse, money became worthless scraps of paper.

After finishing his cigarette, Lin Long discarded the butt.

"First, I need to get some gold and exchange it for money," he planned.

The Zombie Manufacturing System only acknowledged money.

Only with sufficient funds could he manufacture more zombies and unlock more zombie types.

Now that he had the ability to cross dimensions, he planned to make full use of it.

He ventured into the apocalyptic world for what? Riches upon the brink of danger.

Lin Long immersed his consciousness into the proxy zombie's body, remotely controlling it to move towards Tianwei City.

At the same time, he gave an order to the white-collar female zombie, instructing her to guard the entrance and ensure his safety.

Along the main road, the zombie held its direction.

Every zombie in its path was promptly dispatched by Lin Long, their heads severed.

Lin Long was also short on manufacturing points.

"Too bad there's no map of Tianwei City," he murmured.

Lin Long had no prior knowledge of the post-apocalypse cities of Blue Star, and could only try his luck.

Gold stores were normally located in the city downtown.

Tianwei City was enormous, a metropolis housing millions of residents.

Getting to the city center from the outskirts was not an easy feat.

"You've received 1 manufacturing point

The system's notifications chimed in intermittently, signifying another fallen zombie with each prompt.

Upon reaching the city, the streets were densely packed with zombies.

These ranged from elderly folks to toddlers and women – not a single demographic seemed spared.

This sight sent chills down Lin Long's spine.

A shattering sound resonated from afar, originating from a skyscraper's glass facade.

Through his zombie's eyes, he spotted a colossal, crimson-skinned, four-legged climber zombie speeding up the high-rise.

Its claws were immensely sharp and solid, and its limbs showed the crisscross of robust muscles, radiating with explosive power.

As it moved, the claws deeply embedded into the reinforced concrete.

Left in its wake were trails of scarred concrete, with shards of shattered glass raining down onto the street.

The clatter of falling glass caused agitation among the zombies below, drawing them towards the source of the noise, throwing the entire street into chaos.

The climber zombie, however, quickly fled the scene, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

"That's a crawler," Lin Long gasped, realizing that he'd just witnessed one of the evolved zombie types brought about by the virus.

The genetic transformations bestow these zombies with a variety of forms, and encountering such bizarre shapes was not unusual.

One look at how easily it punctured the reinforced concrete gave an idea of its lethality.

If it were a human on the receiving end, it would have effortlessly gouged a gaping hole in them.

Lin Long remained dazed for a moment before regaining control of his zombie proxy.

Although merely controlling a zombie, being in this situation was as perilous as being in the midst of a zombie swarm.

The adrenaline was akin to wearing an AR (Augmented Reality) headset.

The immersive experience felt surreal and heightened his sense of danger.

Passing two streets, Lin Long encountered another zombie blockading the path, wielding its blade, "With one swift swing...

" the impediment was beheaded, and a burning passion ignited within his eyes.

Ahead, a gold store named Zhou Fu Fu emerged.
