Chapter 15 : Unknown me

Chapter 15 : Unknown me

Drowning deeply within the shroud of darkness, Leviathan steeled himself to move toward the enigmatic dark green object.

However, to his dismay, he found himself immobile, trapped within the inky blackness.

Leviathan made several attempts to break free from his unyielding prison, but his efforts proved futile.

As he struggled, he noticed a fine mist of dark green particles swirling around him. His attention was drawn to the source, and he watched as it emitted a series of green-hued rays that dispersed throughout the surrounding space.

Gradually, Leviathan felt an inexplicable connection forming between himself and the dark green object. It was as if an invisible force had ensnared him, rendering him unable to tear his gaze away from the alluring enigma that held him captive.

Drawn by an irresistible force, Leviathan inched closer and closer to the dark green object within the enigmatic darkness.

As he approached, the green particles and rays emitted by the object began to intensify, creating a captivating spectacle.

Leviathan found himself so close to the ground object that he could almost reach out and grasp it with a simple stretch of his hand.

Yet, despite his proximity, he remained transfixed, his gaze fixated upon the mysterious green entity. It was as though he had lost control of his senses, utterly consumed by the object's beguiling allure.

As Leviathan drew nearer to the green object within the encompassing darkness, he could now clearly discern its form.

It appeared to be a spherical entity, radiating an ominous dark green aura. Though it possessed a spherical shape, it was not a mere ball; rather, it seemed to be a manifestation of some potent force, eager to engulf the darkness and replace it with its verdant glow.

Leviathan's approach continued unabated, and as he came within inches of the object, something peculiar occurred.

Tiny particles from the green entity began to penetrate his body.

It was at this juncture that Leviathan snapped out of his hypnotic trance, jolted to awareness by the sudden onset of pain inflicted by the foreign particles burrowing into his form.

"What is goining on!" he exclaimed.

From the points where the dark green particles had infiltrated his body, a viridescent hue began to spread outward, causing Leviathan intense and unbearable agony.

With a pain like no other he had ever experienced, Leviathan attempted to move, but much like before, he found himself immobilized.

Trapped in this dire situation, he helplessly watched as the green particles relentlessly devoured his body. Overwhelmed by pain and confusion, he was gripped by an emotion he rarely felt—FEAR .

Leviathan's fear intensified, encompassing not only the enigmatic green object but also the darkness that entrapped him, the pain that coursed through his body, and the looming specter of death. It was an overwhelming and suffocating fear.

However, as his fear intensified, a peculiar thing happened.

The green particles, which had been invading his body, began to slow their advance, hesitating as if uncertain.

Simultaneously, the viridescent hue that had enveloped him started to recede.

Consumed by his fear, Leviathan found himself in an unsettling state of suspended animation. It was as though, at the very moment when he opened his mouth to scream, all the green hues vanished, and his vision plunged into darkness.

In the grand hall, Leviathan slowly opened his eyes, his body drenched in sweat, his heart racing from the harrowing experience he had just endured.

[Phew, what the hell was that?] Leviathan thought, his breathing heavy as he opened his eyes.

Incarus, already awake and seemingly cheerful, observed Leviathan's distressed state.

"What happened? You look like someone who narrowly escaped death by a hair's breadth," he inquired.

But Leviathan remained silent, focused on regaining his breath.

[For a moment, I felt like I really died. If I felt correctly, the green hue is the force of envy. With just one glance, I was almost drawn into it, addicted even.]

[But why did it seem like it was trying to kill me?] Leviathan pondered.

Leviathan raised his head and met Incarus's gaze, the confusion still apparent on his face.

After a moment of hesitation, Leviathan decided to inquire about the incident, though he omitted certain details.

"Incarus, what just happened?" he asked.

Incarus, seemingly unperturbed by the ordeal, responded, "Are you referring to the peculiar sensation I experienced in regard to my self-esteem?"

"Yes, and if it was something affecting you, why did I also experience it?" Leviathan pressed.

"It seems you have little understanding of how our powers manifest," Incarus remarked, closing his eyes in a contemplative manner.

Leviathan was about to speak further, but Incarus interrupted him. "I'll explain it to you later. This is not the moment," he said,

opening his eyes and directing his attention back to the assembly of people before them. Without giving Leviathan a chance to explain his own ignorance of his sin power, Incarus diverted the conversation.

Leviathan, though eager to understand the nature of their powers, recognized the importance of maintaining the appearance of an all-knowing figure.

He understood that Incarus had conveyed a hidden message with his words, suggesting that they should not appear ignorant. Therefore, Leviathan also turned his attention back to the assembly.

[How can I possibly know how the powers of the sins work? I was killed the moment I became a Sin Ruler.]

[However, it appears that when I transmigrated, all of my characteristics and powers from the realm of Avlora transferred with me. I can still sense my subspace and the items I stored within it,]

Leviathan's determined gaze remained fixed upon the crowd.

[It seems I must take the initiative to understand how my own powers function in this new world.]

Outside the sanctuary, an enigmatic carriage approached at a rapid pace, only to be halted by the vigilant knights guarding the entrance.

"What is the purpose of your visit?" one of the knights inquired as he approached the carriage's window.

The carriage's window opened slowly, revealing a frail yet flawlessly beautiful young girl. She greeted the knight with a serene smile.

"Though we may have arrived later than expected, it appears we have timed our arrival just right," she remarked, her words seemingly directed toward the sanctuary, even though her blindfolded eyes left it uncertain whether she could truly perceive the grand structure before her.
