The sun rises up and Anna’s alarm starts to blare, after moving a lot in her bed she finally gets pissed off and shouts, “Fucking turn off!” the alarm shuts off and the watch says, “Good morning Anna! Please cheer up, a bad morning can mean a bad day ahead!” Anna opens her eyes and scrolls through her watch, after looking at several health related stats she looks at the search bar and it is 15% complete.
There is still a long time for the search to show the location of the last scientist. Anna takes a deep breath and says to herself, “It’s alright, it’s alright. I am right on schedule, the last one will show up too.” After giving herself that motivation she starts getting ready for work. She dresses up and sits on her bed, sitting idle she starts going back to her old days. Mary, Peter and Reed sitting at the table having breakfast. She was always the one who was late at the family gathering in the morning, oddly enough she misses Chef-20X as well. That mid-sized robot always knew what to server her, based on her mood.
This world is a lot more realistic and there are no fancy robots or gadgets to help you through your day. One thing is for sure though, the people here are more genuine than those back home. They care, of course people care in her time too, but only some show their true emotions, others just pretend.
Deep in her thoughts she gets distracted abruptly by a knock on the door. She gets nervous and takes the same gadget in her hand which she used to kill the scientists. She slowly approaches the door and asks softly, “Who is it?”
“It’s Issac, I just thought I would…you know visit you so we can have breakfast together and go to work!” her heart beat starts to fluctuate and she gets even more nervous. Killing Issac is not the part of her plan. She cannot decide what to do and Issac is knocking at the door. “Just a minute! I need to clean some stuff” she replies. “It’s alright, I mean when you entered my office it was a dump. I didn’t clean it up, no need to be so formal for me!” hearing this she opens the door and Issac looks at her and the room. He gets shocked and raises his eyebrows and looks at Anna. She smiles nervously and says, “What a dump right!” and they both start laughing out loud.
“Well, looks like we’re gonna head to Grab-a-Grub. I mean your room isn’t…ahem…ready enough for guests!” Anna chuckles as she grabs her purse, wears her watch and locks the room. After having breakfast they go to the office where a bunch of files are scattered on Issac’s desk. Looking at them Anna asks, “So, looks like you didn’t sleep much last night, still finding clues about the killer?” Issac nods and says, “In all of my years as a detective, I have never seen a case this complex.”
“It seems like the killer is from another world or something, the things he can do… the things I have seen that many wouldn’t believe, you were right this case is a hard one. It’s probably the worst starting case for a junior like you. But even if it is complex, I think the killer is still human. He makes mistakes like the rest of us and I intend to use this against him. It’s only a matter of time-”
Issac doesn’t complete his sentence, his phone starts to ring. The call is from Jeff who informs Issac that the warehouse is being prepared as he has instructed. He thanks Jeff and then turns to Anna. “Okay Anna, so today we don’t have much to do. Here are some old case files, what I want you to do, is to find out any similarities between the suspects of these cases with the current suspect. I don’t mean in terms of appearance but in terms of planning and the way they operate. Consider this your assignment from me!”

Anna takes the files and starts studying them. Issac likes the way Anna handles her work. He almost smiles a little seeing her so determined. “Looks like the future of this detective is quite bright!” he says to himself. Maybe Anna was the one who was needed in his life to get him back on his feet. From the day she met Issac, he had only changed for the better. He was back on his feet and Anna had helped him immensely in the investigations. He went back to Anna and said, “Thank you Anna! You know, I...I couldn’t have asked for a better assistant!”
Anna smiles shyly and keeps herself focused on the files. The digital clock reads 10:00 P.M. she tells her findings to Issac and waits patiently for his response. He tells her that he is very much impressed and that she has passed this assignment with flying colors. Anna gets overwhelmed with happiness as he tells her that she could be his heir. They eat dinner at the Grab-and-Grub and then Issac drops her off to her apartment.
Anna rushes to her apartment and lies on her bed, she sighs and closes her eyes thinking of Issac’s expectations and the trust he has on her. She is lost in her thought when her watch starts to beep. She touches it and a hologram opens up. It reads “Police headquarters communication report” in the report she sees all the conversations that took place in the headquarters today. She says, “Filter the conversations for the last scientist’s location.” the results come in and she sees many conversations that reveal the location.
It is an abandoned warehouse at 42nd Industrial district. Now she is faced with a choice, she can either wait for her scan to complete which can take a few more hours or she can go to this location and end the scientist’s life. She feels confident and decides to go to the location instead of waiting. She is almost excited that her goal would soon be achieved. She collects her gear, dresses up in all black clothes, wears her mask and enters the location of the warehouse on her watch.
In a few moments she is teleported to 42nd Industrial Street. She appears to be in an alley near the warehouse; she looks around and finds no one around the warehouse. She jumps over the wired fencing and moves towards the front gate of the warehouse.
Issac is bored looking at the different camera feeds on multiple screens; he has almost given up and feels that he has indeed wasted his time and resources in setting up this trap for the killer. Maybe the killer is clever enough not to fall for this trick and he was a fool to try this out. He decides to throw away his pessimism and says, “Come on now, show up you clever asshole!” just as he says this, a motion sensor is tripped at the front gate.
Issac looks at the front gate camera feed and sees a hooded figure enter the warehouse. Issac smiles as he looks at the screen, “Welcome to my play ground!” He tracks the killer carefully as he moves to different sections of the warehouse. The killer is very careful as he treads the warehouse. Issac waits for him to reach the room where he has set the trap. The killer enters a dark room and decides to light up his fancy torch; he looks at the two way mirror not knowing that Issac is watching him from the opposite side.
He seems to be confused, looking at his reflection in the mirror. Almost all the warehouse is empty, and there is no sign of any scientist. Issac senses his fear; he hears his gulp and pushes a button. Issac dazes the killer by turning the bright lights installed near the two way mirror. The lights turn on and the killer shouts in pain as the lights blind him.
Everything around the killer becomes hazy, he sees a silhouette of a man pointing a gun at him and his eyes grow wider. Issac shoots a shock round which hits the belly of the killer. The shock rounds deliver a current of 0.03 amperes and the killer feels it as he screams in agony and pain.
After a few moments his screaming stops and he falls to the ground. Issac swiftly ties his hands and legs with a Velcro strap and puts him on a chair. “This is it! Let’s see who is behind this mask!” Issac pulls the mask off with his hands and as his eyes gaze upon the killer’s face, he feels as if he is hit by a train. It’s shocking and he cannot believe his eyes, he shivers a little and starts to sweat, he feels anger and sadness, his head starts to spin and tears start forming in his eyes “Oh my God! This can’t be, the killer is… Anna?!”
