A life of solitude is what he always had, but it wasn’t the life he wanted for himself. When he was at the orphanage David would often look outside his window and find couples roaming with their hands held together, they would be talking to each other and smiling constantly, sometimes he would see them with a child in their arms, a perfect portrayal of a happy family.

After the death of his mother David had embraced loneliness, he wasn’t good at making friends and slowly turned into a cynical man. He was not to be blamed though, when the world around you is cruel and corrupt the only person you can trust is yourself. Even now he isn’t attached to anyone, he has no girlfriends or friends, a man who isn’t emotionally attached to anyone, a man with no weakness of any sort.

But he is attached to one thing, a universe where his mother is still with him. He always imagines how it would be, no living on the streets, no selling drugs. But even if he did all that in the past it had made what he was today possible. A man with a unique gift of abnormal chronotons.

After getting ready he goes back to Reed’s office, Reed hands him a dossier with all the information on the universe and also a file on Harbinger, the man who was initially assigned to alter ‘P:210’.

Reed also gives him some weapons and when he gives him the green light Hunter presses ‘initialize’ and teleports to ‘P:210’

Hunter teleports to the same location, date and time to which Harbinger teleported. He looks around and sees no one which is strange, because if it is the same location, date and time Harbinger should be standing in front of him. Hunter does this to investigate how Harbinger died, but he is stopped in his tracks by his enhancer, which reminds him to open the dossier and read his objectives. “Alright you stupid thing, I’ll do it right away!”

He opens the dossier and reads his objectives from the start. First of all he needs to investigate a man named ‘Bill Logan’ his location and details are given along with his photo, looking at the photo he realizes, “Oh...so this is Harbinger’s real name and I need to investigate Bill from this universe, our Bill Logan (Harbinger) is already dead. Let’s do that and close the chapter of Harbinger so I can focus on altering other events!”

Hunter teleports to 2 years in the future to the location of Bill Logan as told in the dossier. He observes Bill and his family for some weeks. Bill has a wife, three kids and worked in the nearby lumber factory. He had a loving family and his kids thought the world of him, but something was strange.

While monitoring Bill, he found out that Bill would go into the woods near his house on Thursdays at 3:00 A.M. Inside the woods he would retrieve small notes stuck on a large Oak tree and after retrieving them he would go back to his house and tell nothing of this to anyone. Hunter becomes curious and one Thursday decides to follow Bill, he carefully tails him to the woods and once Bill picks the notes up, Hunter tails him back to his house.

Bill opens his basement door and goes inside, Hunter needs to find out what those notes say and so he decides to follow him inside the basement. It’s too dark inside the basement but Hunter keeps following the faint light that spreads from Bill’s torch. Bill reaches a door and starts opening it. After he is done unlocking it he drops a piece of paper from his hand and goes inside.

Hunter uses the faint light from his enhancer and picks up the paper. He flips it and reads ‘Lure him in’ written on it. Just as he finishes reading it he knows he is in trouble and before he could make his next move. A sudden flash of light blinds him and he screams in pain, the sudden flash blinds him and as his vision blurs. Slowly his vision starts to become clearer, he sees an EMP grenade falling from the hatch near the door. “Oh Shit!”, he whispers as it explodes and the impact fries all the electronic equipment he has.

As his chronoton enhancer fries, it sends a shock through his body and he starts shaking frantically on the ground. He feels like this is the end of his life, but Bill comes out from the door and stomps on the chronoton enhancer completely destroying it while he falls unconscious. Bill drags him through the door and takes him to a room where he cuffs him to a pipe, he then searches him. He finds a chronoton destabilizer and a dossier with information on a man named Harbinger. He looks at the name and says, “So the Overseer was right, that pathetic asshole is still fucking with other universes!”

Bill takes the destroyed chronoton enhancer and connects it to a computer inside the room. He starts digging through the data stored on it. He finds out about Hunter and his real name, his objectives and the things he has accomplished. While he is looking at the data stored on the watch, Hunter wakes up and screams in pain.

Hearing his scream Bill focuses on him while still looking at the data on his computer’s holo-screen. “Welcome back to the world of the living Mr. Hunter or should I say David? Don’t be surprised I read the dossier, so now you want to ruin this universe?”

Hunter listens to him and looks at his wrist, the chronoton enhancer had burnt him a little and was not on his wrist anymore. He looks at Bill and says, “What the fuck are you doing with my enhancer?”

Bill smirks at him and says, “Finding out who you are? And please address me with some respect, I am your senior!” listening to him Hunter is confused and has no words to say. His confusion is going to be turned into shock in a few moments. As he analyzes the data Bill looks at Hunter and says, “I am Harbinger my friend!” He comes towards Hunter and shows him his wrist. Bill wears a different kind of enhancer than what Hunter was wearing.

Hunter reads the chronoton strength from the watch and it says ‘∞’ he looks at Bill and says, “What the hell is going on here?” Bill smiles at him and says, “For now you need to rest, we’ll talk in detail tomorrow. Ah Fuck! I’m all out of sleep darts looks like I’ll have to put you to sleep the old fashioned way!” Bill takes a large steel bat and hits Hunter on his head. Hunter falls unconscious as Bill locks the room.
