The Truth Behind the Truth pt 2

Kevin loved his twin little brother, Kenneth, more than anything. They played together. Went to school together. But they were separated when they graduated from high school due to their family issues. They haven’t seen each other for two years. But they kept the distance small through texts messages and phone calls. Until Kenneth had an accident.

He was hit by a motorcycle driver who happened to be drunk. The accident paralyzed his legs and could no longer stand.

“I’m not sure If were to be glad with what happened to me.” Kenneth said to his big brother who’s sitting on his side.

Kenneth’s room was filled with books, comic books, manga’s, anime figurines, and stuff. All of his trophies from high school basketball leagues and medals from elementary were stripped off.

“And why? You couldn’t play basketball anymore… after all your hard work to get into the varsity team…” Kevin said with a sad voice.

“You know…” Kenneth scoffed. “I’ll trade basketball, those cheering girls, and being… eherm…. being the captain ball… to be with you.”

“Don’t you think that sounds gay?”

The two of them stared intently at each other like a high school couple who’s just found their first love.

Then the two burst out of laughter. It was the same laughter that they both had when they were tricking other people from who’s who.

“So… What have you been up to lately?”

“I’m glad you asked.” Kenneth then took his laptop. “I’m playing this online game and I met this girl. She wanted to meet me. But you know that I can’t.”

“You want me to meet up with her as you, right?” He knew how his little brother’s brain works.

                “Exactly.”

And thus, they arranged a meeting. Kevin met up with this girl named Cecille.

A short pale girl with long pony tailed hair. Small squinted eyes matched with small red lips. With just a single look, his heart was taken away instantly. Like the virginity of the fans of a certain writer.

“Hey, hey…. I just upgraded my +9 Emberghauerl to +10. I actually thought that it would break… but damn…. DAMN…!!! I was soooooooo lucky that day.” Cecille said as she took a bite from her burger.

“Ahhh… yeahh. Nice…. Ember…garwearsdl…” Kevin just sipped his cola.

He has no clue whatsoever about the game that his brother plays.

“Oh… right. You said that no ‘Lost Utopia’ stuff. I’m sorry. I just wanted to talk about the game with you…” That made her sad. “That’s where I met you… so it’s kinda sad that we’re not going to talk about it…”

“Ohhh… I know..!” He thought of a clever lie. “Tell me everything about it like I’m a beginner.” He gave a smile.

“That’s weird…. But okay..” She smiled.

Thus, they talked… and talked. About the game. About their lives. About what they want in the future. And finally…. When to meet next.

He was so lost in her eyes that he almost forgot that it is not him that she wants to be with. But with his little brother.

                “What happened?” Kenneth asked.

“You know, we ate. Talked. And yeah, she’s cute like on her profile picture.”

                “Really?”

“Why don’t you go see for yourself?”

                “You know that I can’t…”

“You want me to do your dirty work? You know, I don’t have a girlfriend. I might fall for her.”

                “It’s okay if it’s you…”

“Look.” Kevin placed his hands on Kenneth’s shoulders. “It does matter. Your eyes says it all.”

“She’s online now… just go to your room you douche.”

                “Okay, okay.”

“You better meet up with her again.”

                “Okay..”

Somewhat, it didn’t felt right. That he felt happy that Kenneth wanted him to meet Cecille again.

                They continued to meet. Until…

“Do you have a girlfriend..?” Cecille asked as they were walking on a park.

“I don’t. But I’m still not planning on having one.”

“Oh… that’s rare. Have you tried milking your dick once?” Cecille smirked.

                “That’s…. sexual harassment you know.”

“Okay… let me try another question.” She stopped walking. “Do you have a boyfriend?”

“Want me to kiss you right now?”

                “HAH, GAY!!!!”

                Kevin kissed Cecille.

He felt as if the world stopped. Like there weren’t any people around. That they were instantly teleported to a world where time and space did not exist. Just the two of them. Placing their lips upon each other.

“Idiot….” Cecille said. “You better marry me now… you just took my first kiss…”

“Marry? I haven’t even asked you to be my girlfriend yet.” He smiled.

When Kenneth found out about it, he slit his wrist. And left his

‘Why did he do it?’ Kevin asked himself while he is taking a last glimpse on his brother’s dead body inside a white coffin. ‘It’s his fault. Not mine. I told him to meet her directly. I didn’t agreed to meet her in the first place. Look at what happened.’

Kevin did not shed a single tear. No. He didn’t even get a single cold pain in his chest. Instead, he felt joy. For he has no one to share with his loved one. And because of that girl, he forgot all about his dreams. He just wanted to spend time with her.

But after a few days. When he was with Cecille, he bumped into his friend.

“Hey, Kevin.” His friend called out to him.

Kevin pretended not to notice. But his friend is an idiot who doesn’t take no for an answer.

“Kevin!” He said as he ran towards him. “Just because you’re with a girl, that doesn’t mean that you can just ignore me.”

“Why is he calling you Kevin, Kenneth?” Cecille said.

“Kenneth? Didn’t he just died a week ago?” Kevin’s friend said.
