Zeegal was rather enjoying this summon session. He didn't know if this was typical of how these things went, this being his first time summoned, but so far his master was mindful and the enemies legion. Sharp goblin teeth appeared with the thought of the rewards he would earn this session.
Another of the plague bringers tried to sink its own teeth into Zeegals arm as he removed his dagger from the head one of its companions. His iron armor held nicely. These minions were no match for a defender of low capital. The bigger brutes were another matter, but luckily, his master had first gathered his other summoned servants before assaulting the other gates.
Zeegal was at first overwhelmed by the variety of beings that served his master, but in the end, it was of little concern to him as there were more than enough enemies to earn merit.
He wasn't sure how it worked on another world, but on his, once you made and completed a summoned contract, the rewards could be anything from skills to stat points to titles to weapons or artifacts. It all depended on how well one served.
One could be fearless on summoned missions since death merely ended the session and brought you back to your world of origin, rarely more than a few second after you left, no matter how long the mission took.
Dispatching a few more of the plague bringers around him, Zeegal watched the other summoned servants distract the monstrous plague bringers while his master finally managed to unleash his spell into the sky.
Having seen it twice before, he knew the time to retreat was now. His master flew away from the area the spell would take place in while giving a mental command for every being to retreat. Zeegal felt the order and grouped up with a few being more his size to fall back.
Injured summon are carried by those who had the strength and they, in turn, are protected by the uninjured. Breaking into one of the immense building near the battle site allowed them to set up defensive barricade while the storm outside destroyed the plague bringers.
The master healed those who needed it, further impressing any being who hadn't witnessed it before. Few master would waste energy healing what would be easier to replace.
The lobby was crowded but somehow, they still only had just enough bodies to hold off the dead from both inside and outside.
This fortress must have fallen early.
Zeegal doesn't know much about the circumstances of this world, but it doesn't matter. A being can be summoned to do just about anything and the variety of world to visit were endless.
Once his master finished healing, he collected the clear cards that appeared when the dead were destroyed. Collecting them mid battle was dangerous, but it seemed important to his master. They only managed to get a fraction of what dropped, but his master did not seem upset about it.
The glowing bones that also appeared from the destroyed dead seem to both fascinate and repulse his master, but he collected them just the same.
Before the storm finished, his master summoned more being to replenish his ranks. Zeegal had long learned a trick in his own world to discern affinity, and so could tell all these beings were summoned under the elemental distinction.
Zeegals contract lets him be summoned under the distinctions of; Living creature, Metal element, Earth element, and Companion being.
The roles and powers allowed under each type of summon were different and his not small amount of lifesaving's had been used to afford the four different distinctions, but the potential gains were very much worth it.
The end of the storm resulted in his master's mental order to break out of this fortress and clear the immediate area.
Zeegal and the other being his size charged into the dead first, giving the larger slower being time to extricate themselves from the building and bring their power to bear. Unsurprisingly by now, some of the larger dead had survived the storm, however, it seemed the gate had as well.
Well, this is new.

Leon was not happy, his summons are managing to hold back the dead, but that wouldn't last if the noise of battle drew too many other into the area.
His [fire-bolt] splashed off of the portal gate. the rest of his attack skills fared no better. Floating closer to the shimmering sphere, he looked closer.
Master Gate
Puppet master Manor
Control Crystals - 2
Corpse Puppet, Dead-eyed Dolls, Flesh Marionette, #@%$&$#@
...well fuck.
No attack seemed to phase the thing, and the information from analyze was less than promising, but Leon had a sneaking suspicion what he was dealing with.
Leon ordered 3 of the smaller faster summons into the gate, 2 fairies, and a small golden bird. They came out almost immediately, with solemn nods to him.
"Yup, it's a freaking dungeon."
Rather than worrying about it too much, he mentally orders everyone into the thing. Once half his force are in, he flies in himself.
The inside wasn't the underground cave he was expecting, but it wasn't much better either.
An endless graveyard dominated the land. in the distance a large house, maybe a manor of some kind sat alone. At his back, behind the portal, an impossible thick forest block any direction of travel except for towards the manor.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
The area directly around the gate was bright with green grass for about 10 yards, but after that, the b-movie horror scene took over.
Dead grass, broken gravestones, the occasional mausoleum all leading up to the heavy fences and gate of the gothic-looking manor.
Leon assumed the 'Boss' would be found there.
Once his forces are through the gate he prepares for the zombies to follow. Five minutes later he had to assume the dead couldn't or wouldn't come through that way. Sighing loudly he took a look at what he had to work with.
This was the fourth gate he has attacked and the last withing ten miles of his building. In that time he had gained a few things.

With a total of 40 summoned slots, he had 74 elemental summons with him now, thanks to their half slot ability. All 35 bonus points from leveling had gone to INT, raising his MP nicely.
His curse, poison, disease and physical resistances had also gone up, proving the fight until now had not been one-sided. He had been forced to buy potions to cure disease, poison, and curses.
Gravitokinesis had risen when used to ease the mana cost of [flight], as had telekinesis. All of the kinetic skills had eased the cost of the elemental magics and had also risen accordingly. The sheer number of enemies made danger sense his highest skill at 19 and charged ice storms number of kills made it his second highest at level 12.
Flight, of course, was a close third at level 10, since he rarely spent any time on the ground. Even now he hovered just over the heads of his ground-bound summons. Those that could fly are ordered to stay between him and the sky, or specifically any enemy that could come from the sky.
After making sure everything was in order, he and his minions started their attack. As expected, the moment they put a foot on the dead grass, zombie arms shot from the ground followed by zombie bodies forcing their way to the surface.
Grouped up closely the summons marched their way towards the manor. Any being with a ranged attack let loose, while those without mostly defended them. Not all of the summoned had weapons, and Leon didn't want to arm them with the only thing he had so far picked up.

To buy a 'Large bone' from the shop cost 150 credits while selling it to the shop only got one 15 credits. He would much rather wait and see if he could make use of them.
Still, even without a weapon most of the summoned had skills that made them more than a match for the undead. The problem was the numbers in which they came. Even now more and more made their way towards Leons forces and they were still less than a quarter of the way to the Manor.
Leons sporadic elemental attacks did little to ease the pressure on his minions.
Passing too close to the mausoleum, he was startled when a fist knocked down the door and three Dead-eyed Dolls emerged. With an ear-splitting roar, they started to throw their lesser brother into the midst of Leon's troops.
Leaving the summoned to fend for themselves, he flies towards the dolls. As the biggest threat, he has learned to deal with them out of necessity. 30 feet over their heads he lets loose with his attacks. [Fire-bolt], [Ice-spear], and [Lightning Strike] all rain down on them as Leon strafes left and right dodging the dead men turned projectiles.
Invisibility and teleport help confused the Dolls, even if invisibility is broken each time he attacks. It takes time but eventually, the dolls are killed. Each requires somewhere around ten attacks from him, but that assume they aren't resistant to the element he chooses. In the meantime, their ammunition was endless and they occasionally got lucky, breaking Leon's shield and forcing him to retreat and recast it.
By the time he makes it back to his forces, they are half way to the manor but pretty much surrounded and are reluctant to advance further since it means passing within the range of not one, but two mausoleums.
To make matters worse, the flight back to them passes over another mausoleum, which activates, despite Leon being more than 60 feet above it.
With over 70 bodies to work with, the summoned do a good job of throwing healthy being at the zombies and so haven't yet suffered a deadly casualty, though some have minor injuries. That will change if the pass between the two tombs and awaken 6 more Dead-eyed Dolls on top of the three Leon is currently dealing with.
In order to only awaken the zombies in one of the buildings, they will have to pass directly in front of it, meaning the dolls will be right on their perimeter, using fists instead of undead ammunition.
He ordered is forces to directly pass by close to one of the tombs. When the door burst apart under the fist of the dead-eyed dolls inside, the larger summons consisting of golems, cyclops, half giants, treants and more fell upon them as soon as they stepped foot outside the mausoleum.
In the meantime, Leons was busy dealing with the three dolls from the second tomb. The distraction of trying to fight them and direct the summoned at the same time resulted in a direct hit on weakened shields from the intercontinental undead.
His shield popped like a bubble, barely slowing the dead man that plowed into him mid air causing him to tumble uncontrollably. Teleport was a gamble could have launched him 10 yards closer to the ground or into the sky, too dangerous. Curling into a ball and redeploying his shield before he hit the dead grass saved his life, but everything still went black when he hit.
