Walking quietly towards the bar Steve thought over why he was even trying anymore, he had been single his whole life, not from lack of trying, however, more from he never seemed to find the one.

He knew how silly it sounded but he never seemed to be able to get a connection with anyone really, it didn’t matter how good locking they were he just… couldn’t connect with them.

He had almost given up hope of even trying anymore, but here he was walking to the bar, just because his party infected best friend had called him not even an hour ago babbling about some ridiculous party he was at, at a newly opened bar, he had tried to protest with his friend for several minutes but that leach, had finally won him over when he said he’d pay for booze.

He never said he was a saint, and who can say no to free booze.

looking at his watch he saw it was already 10 pm, it had taken him 20 minutes to walk here,

sighing to himself, he could only hope they had any good liquor here.

looking up he saw the entrance to the bar had a long line of people outside and at the door stood a mountain of muscle guarding it, like some damn soldier in the last line of defense holding the palace doors against the incoming horde.

walking up to the bouncer passing the long line, he could hear angry shouts coming from the crowd.

“Hey asshole, get in line this isn’t just for show you know”

“Yeah, I’ve been waiting for an hour here, you can’t just skip the line,” another said.

ignoring them he spoke to the guard, “names Steve I’m a friend of Trevor”.

the brute glanced at him, and then looked down on the list skimming through it before finally looking up again at him, “oh so your friends with that drunk bastard, I don’t even know how he gets in, have to know someone at the top” he said grunting.

“never mind you’re on the list, you can go in,” he said before removing the rope and motioning for him to enter.

nodding his head Steve walked in, totally ignoring the annoyed mumblings from the people outside.

inside it was as he walked into another world, it was music, lights booze and hot women everywhere, sure there were a bunch of dudes too, but that was easily ignored.

he walked up to the bar, impossible to find his friend in here, signaled for the bartender, who quickly came over.

“wine, red,” he said, the bartender nodded saying “coming right up”.

sitting down he looked around a bit before hearing from his side, “an odd choice of drink for a place like this”

Looking over he saw a girl with long brunet hair, a stunning face and just as stunning body sitting to the left of him.

raising an eyebrow, he answered with a slight smile, “yeah not my kind of place really I’d rather be at a nice restaurant with a glass of wine and a good meal with friends, but get invited here and decided to show up”

“shouldn’t you be with your friends then instead of drinking by yourself at the bar”

“eh, can’t find him so I’d thought I’d wait here, close to the person who can magically make alcohol ampere out of nowhere,” he said with a slight smirk on his face, winking.

giggling slightly the girl answered with an easy smile on her lips, “well then I would think it would be my duty to entertain you for being the first one here and all”.

smiling he only answered with a small chuckle saying little old me, getting the honor to be deemed worthy of speaking to such a beautiful woman”.

laughing she continued to talk to him, and as the drinks flew by and time seemed to only be a blur the night progressed, rather quickly, Steve found it easy to talk to this girl, and he thought maybe this is the one vie been looking for.

later they moved away from the bar and the party, but now Steve’s mind was so blurry he no longer remembered his name, he thought they eventually got a bed and laid down together, but such calculations were too much for his half-awake brain.

the last thought he had before he passed out was really jumbled, huh, a strange light that one.

Waking up the next day, he was in an unfamiliar room, and after looking around a bit groggily, he found the girl from yesterday laying asleep beside him.

Smiling to himself, he started getting up, but soon found his legs were like spaghetti, and he slumped back in the bed, again.

“take it easy, teleportation takes a lot out of people the first time,” the girl said behind him now awake and leaning on him carefully”.

“what?” he said turning around sharply and looking at her.

sighing as she sat down on the bed again and said slowly “you are no longer on your planet anymore, we teleported to my dimension and had sex to solidify our bond”.

Starting to move away from her, thinking this person must be crazy or something, he fell from the bed falling on the floor, she quickly got up from the bed running over to him.

“no, you stay back, I’m leaving and going home, I had a great night, but that’s all it was, no teleportation or bonding or anything like that”.

stopping a bit from him she looked at him with sympathetic eyes, knowing this was going to happen, but she was so happy right now, they had an eternal bond connecting them together, and that could never be broken even if she wanted too.

“We are both now deities, and we have a bond connecting us together, I already was a deity before but you became one too after we connected together”.

yeah totally not crazy he thought to himself.

listen woman, I’m going to leave now and you can continue living in dreamland if you want too, you know I don’t judge some people can pull off crazy really good and I think you’re a good candidate for that, so you do you and I’m going to walk away know and yeah, we will never see each other again, but yeah”.

she only sighed as he tried to get up, she tried to help him but he only pulled his arm away.

“I’m fine, I'm fine,” he said as he got up on wobbly legs.

scanning over the room, he found his pants on a chair nearby, shambling over to the chair he pulled on his pants, with a bit of difficulty, but finally managed to get them on, he found the rest of clothes strewn about, the room.

after he put on his clothes he had managed to get his legs mostly working again, all the while the girl had just watched him, from the bed with sympathy in her eyes.

walking up to the door he took one last look at the girl before he opened it and started to walk out.

almost instantly after opening the door and looking outside, he quickly closed it and looked wild-eyed at the girl.

“its. it’s a fucking monster outside the door” he said with a shaky breath.

outside he had seen a snake with 3 heads that looked at him, then he opened the door,

she simply looked at him strangely before a lightbulb went off in her head.

“Oh, you mean sally, she’s one of the guardians at the academy, she wouldn’t hurt you, you’re a student here and a deity, so you have nothing to worry about”.

Steve looked at her wide-eyed at the girl, before thinking he must stop calling her the girl.

“eh, ok, firstly before I go insane here and storm out of here like a damn tornado trying to escape, what’s your name?”

“I’m Emily Gold leaf, husband didn’t I tell you last night”

“husband, what? never mind, eh where am I?”.

“I know this is hard to believe, but you’re a deity now, and currently at honor brooks academy, and we have lessons that start in 3 days”.

“Wait I didn’t sign up for any new schools or anything, even less becoming a deity”

“Oh, good you're coming around, most people are in denial much longer than that, we should get you acquainted with the school, sign you up for some clubs and I can introduce you to some of my friends,” she said squealing and clapping her hands.

“yeah, its, kind of hard to ignore with a giant monster outside your door,” he said.

I can hang around here for a while and find a way out of here later when I find an exit or something maybe, he thought to himself.

he followed her out the door, looking around in awe he was in a giant stairwell, reaching probably several hundred meters in the sky, he felt stronger healthier here than he ever had, he could accept being a deity if it made him feel this good, Emily had been talking in the background while they walked and he had only listened on one ear, until he heard her say something strange, well stranger than most things he had heard.

“ok so classes are around 3 to 5 years depending on what class it is, our first class is divine attunement where we will find out what element we control”.

“wait? what 3 years for one class?” he said with disbelief in his voice.

“yes, were immortal so time isn’t really a problem and often the years pass by rather quickly and we're going to rule over our own domain when we graduate, of course, we need as much experience as we can get”.

he got to admit time seemed to have passed rather quickly three hours had passed in what felt like seconds, and if he thought about it, he could remember everything she had said down to every sound he heard around him too, he was starting to accept the whole divinity thing more and more, the longer he spent here.

He could also bring down his perception of time so he could experience everything in real time as well, he remembered a discussion Emily had had when they left their room, yeah their room he could feel their connection more clearly now, and every second he spent with her, the more he felt like they belong together and that they were perfect for each other, he had of course talked about himself too, all this time with a personality that ran parallel with his own in real time but also, not, it was wherry strange but he was starting to accept it.

they said, “ hello shelly this is Steve, my husband”.

“Oh, Emily I’m happy for you” answered the snake.

yeah, I’m giving him a guided tour so see you later.

“Bye Emily, and you too Steve”

“yeah… bye” Steve said.

“bye shelly,” Emily said before they walked off.

and that was about three hours ago, remembering that something strange happened.
