I made a bit of a mistake about a week ago. One that pretty much killed any motivation I had left for the fiction.
I re-read it from the beginning.
And while it was nice to see the progression in my writing style from then to now, and to visably track my improvments, it forced me to admit that as a story, Divine Bladesmith is deeply flawed. I hated going back and seeing all the loose story arcs, and the un-finished ideas. I treated the fiction as a sandbox to test ideas, and strayed very, very far from what I had intented to write at first. That wasn't fair to the story, or to you readers.
So, unfortunete as it is, I'm dropping Divine Bladesmith for now. Key words: For now. I fully intend to give Divine Bladesmith and Kai the love and attention they deserve, once I have the time to do so. As it turns out, writing a full length novel, working on school, and taking care of my other fiction eats into pretty much all my time. I'll re-do Divine Bladesmith in the way I had originally intended...eventually.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
And if you don't think that I'll ever get to it, well—I kinda have to at some point. Telling you why would spoil things "just a little".
Now, for those that enjoyed the writing style itself, then check out my other fiction. It's much better written, and is graced by a (mostly) cohesive storyline. Otherwise, I don't know when I'll be able to come back to Divine Bladesmith. It'll likely be a long wait, so don't hold your breath, okay?
And lastly, thank you. Without you readers, who responded so positivly to Divine Bladesmith, I don't know where I would be. Probibly not writing on this site, that's for sure. I hope you all find good stuff to read, and I wish you the best of luck.
(I just realized it's Valentine's day. Dammit. Sorry about that, I guess.)
