Commander of the Imperial Army POV
“What do you mean golems?” I asked the messenger.
“Metal golems have attacked the front of the army, my lord. They have managed to kill about 400 of our men so far.”
I let out a hiss of annoyance. “Who dares attack the imperial army?”
“We are not sure, my lord. However, the men report seeing over 200 golems during the 2 attacks.”
“200 is no small number. Didn’t Captain Herius say something about a rogue coven in the area?”
“Where did the golems come from?”
“We are unsure, lord. They only attacked for a short while before retreating back into the forest. Scouts have been sent after them but they have not returned yet.”

“Damn it. We can’t afford to be wasting time here like this.”
“Deal with the golems as soon as possible. I don’t care if you have to send out a unit of mages to take out the summoner. Just get it done.”
The messenger bowed before leaving to take the message to the front.
“Do you require my assistance?” someone growled behind me. I recoiled instinctively before realizing who it was.
“No Mors. Just some pesky golems. I’m sure my mages will deal with them soon enough.”
I’ve never liked the Deathwalker beside me. He always had this creepy aura around him. But his contributions would be necessary for the plan Lord Viscount had devised.
“Mmmm,” he said in a low voice, before guiding his horse away. I heaved a silent sigh of relief once he was gone, and called over one of my trusted captains.
“You called, my lord?” he asked.
“Go reinforce the front, and track down whoever created those golems. Use a Light mage to pinpoint their location if you need to.”
“As my lord commands.”
