With an efficiency only machines could accomplish, all of my items, including the elves, were picked up and transported back to headquarters. The items were quickly organized and sorted, books had their pages scanned and uploaded to my databanks, and unidentified materials were fed into the fabricator for examination.
“Hehehe, now it’s time for the fun to really start,” I giggled to myself.
“[The fact that you are making such sounds is cause for concern,” Eve commented.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would think you were teasing me.”
“[I do not know what gave you that impression.]”
I shrugged mentally, and set about with my business. First, I sent the elves to their new home constructed by the GARs, similar to the ones Mors and Aurea lived in. The only difference were the extra beds and furnishings, as well as a few toys and such for the children. I was hoping that this would help the elves trust me more, and eventually allow me to get more information out of them. After stitching up Aurea’s wound with synthetic spider silk, I asked her and Mors to get the elves acquainted with their new home.
Next, I fabricated 6 new computer chips. These were essential for the storage and operation of new AI. Going into her core programming, I made 6 'duplicates' of Eve. To increase their processing power, I cut down on the areas that would be unrelated to their specialty. This would make them more inflexible and unable to think of new and creative solutions to problems, but with all the history and information gathered by the human race at my disposal, I didn’t see this as too much of a problem.
The first AI I designated Boar Model 1.0, and it would be in charge of the Enforcers and Montanas, as well as the general security of the headquarters. The second I designated Peregrine Model 1.0, and it would take charge of the Falcon and Laelaps units, while also focusing on gathering natural resources in the area. Both of them would inhabit their namesakes while carrying out their duties.
The third AI I named Pitman, charged with the collection of metals and minerals underground. The drillbots, as well as the more advanced tunnelbots, were set to work under it. The fourth was called Daedalus, entrusted with the responsibility of building and maintaining the soon to be constructed underground base. The GARs were put under his care.

The fifth AI was designated Eidolon, and it would be the AI that would collect and sort the information gathered by the units under it. Although it currently did not have any robots to gather information with aside from the drones, that would soon be rectified. The last Artificial Intelligence unit was christened Fuxi. Unlike the other AI, he was placed directly into the fabricator, as his responsibility would be the manufacture, fabrication, and distribution of robots and weapons.
With that complete, I gave each of the sub-intelligences their instructions and sent them off to complete their tasks.
Boar Model 1.0: Understood. Beginning deployment of Enforcers. Beginning deployment of Montanas. Current guarded area: mine entrance, 1 kilometer of mine entrance.
Peregrine Model 1.0: Understood. Beginning deployment of Falcons. Beginning deployment of Laelaps. Gathering natural resources within: 20 kilometers of mine entrance.
Pitman: Activating drillbots and tunnelbots. Analyzing soil content. Beginning mining operations.
Daedalus: Activating General Assembly Robots. Analyzing the stability of earth and stone in nearby areas. Results: Stability acceptable. Beginning construction of underground headquarters. Projected completion time: 408 days. Projected completion time with addition of 170 GARs: 72 days. Acceptable?
“Acceptable. Begin construction.”
Fuxi: Current project: Construction of 170 General Assembly Robots. Projected completion time: 7 hours, 47 minutes. Next project: Construction of industrial synthesizer, industrial refinery, industrial fabricator. Projected completion time: 2 days, 22 hours, 16 minutes. Acceptable?
“Acceptable. Begin fabrication. Once the industrial synthesizer, refinery and fabricator are finished, fabricate 20 bartac model energy-propellant pistols, 5,000 rounds of chemical-propellant ammunition, 10 sets of tailored military grade earpieces, 40 Ashray semi-liquid infiltrator units, 200 Dianmu model gunner robots with attached rifle limbs, 500 Squall model combat drones, and 4 military grade transport trucks.”
Fuxi: Understood. Estimated completion time using industrial machinery: 9 days, 4 hours, 29 minutes. Acceptable?
“Acceptable.”
Eidolon: Assuming remote control of drones. Reading drone memory chips….reading main AI memory chip…constructing map of surrounding area….map complete. Initiating surveillance protocols. Surveilled areas: Houses above the mine, forest surrounding mine headquarters, Maplepost. Examining scanned book pages…all information has been recorded and cataloged.
Transmitting data…
With all the materials acquired from Ocaephis, I was able to massively accelerate my progress. With the new AIs taking care of other matters, I delved into the pile of data that was the scanned pages of the books bought in Ocaephis.
