Tracy and Gray landed just outside of Petalburg city on route 104.

There was a building in front of them that looked worn and possibly abandoned as the wood of the building looked old and unmaintained the paint from years ago mostly gone.

Tracy climbed down from Missy and waited for Gray to do the same before returning her to her ball.

"Gray welcome to the ranger outpost on Route 104 out of Petalburg city."

"It doesn't look like it, are you ever in this building it looks abandoned to me."

"Yeah, this building is the outpost, it's just as a ranger most of your time is spent out on the routes especially during the beginning half of the year is to make them safer for newbie trainers like you Gray who are green and in danger within the unaltered wilds."

"You are right that certainly was a super crazy experience thankfully Natu helped me till you could find me, and I now have 2 new team members." Gray then released his team.

"Before you head out Gray come in for some tea and I also have something for you that will help you in another situation to avoid things like a random teleport or attacks against you because you seem very prone to danger more so than other rookies the year as you've seen an incident and had one yourself."

Tracy then pulls a net ball from her belt and presses the button releasing a purple starfish with ten legs with a golden bezel setting around a ruby like gem-like core in the center.

"Yeah, I know your excited Sarah, but this kid is way too weak for you to challenge I have another request teach the Trapinch the move Protect. For now, Gray head into town to get the new members of your team checked out."

"Ok I'll be back in a while."

Sarah the Starmie Pov.

Excitement coursed through Sarah as she began to warmup with Trap.

The first thing she noticed was his warmup was wrong she projected her thoughts to Trap.

'Hey, your warmup is incorrect remember you aren't a human or have the body type of a biped for that way of stretching and exercise so that style won't work for you especially with the evolutions you will go through mostly the next form you will take so correction need to be made before it hinders you.'

Trap turns his head in curiosity "Really I never thought my stretching was that bad I thought that that was play till what happened yesterday and he got taken away now I want to be strong enough to stop that from happening again." sadness seeped out of his voice as he talked

'Trap the technique that I will teach you will go far in your journey. If you learn it to mastery, it will even protect your trainer Gray the move is called Protect. this move creates a barrier of energy that will block any move.'

"Let's do this so that situation won't happen again"

'I can teach you the basics but everything else you will learn on your own with the other training you will receive so let's get started correcting you and teaching you the way to use the move.'

Gray pov.

I sat still in the waiting room as Sprig and Rocky got checked out.

My aunt said she would take on the examination for my new Pokemon personally.

Finally, she came back out with the 2 balls.

"You should have told me your Corphish was violent Chancey had to step in to stop him so the examination could go on."

"I had no idea he was the one who came to me actually another Pokemon with me at the time offered him the ball so I had no idea as I haven't trained with him yet."

"Worry not that isn't uncommon with Corphish. The other Pokemon you brought is very special they hatched early without complications it seems since it's only been a few hours since they hatched but they are an extremely rare one from the islands of Alola his mother was probably the one to give you him and likely was a Decidueye based on the description of the one who gave you the egg. The most interesting thing is that he has the discoloration being green rather than the brown color they normally are and the fact that he has longer feathers than the average Rowlet."

"Interesting any care tips I need to be aware of for both of them."

"As I would say for any up-and-coming trainer, they should have supplements, but I'd say a good grass type and water type food will work for now till you are more set-in funds and possibly gain a sponsorship to cover the things you will eventually need for such items. As for Rowlet they need a few weeks before you begin any big training, but some minor low exerting exercise wouldn't hurt."

"Good to know thanks Auntie." Gray walked off towards the ranger outpost

a ten-minute walk later Gray was in front of the outpost.

Sarah and Trap were training as Tracy watched with amusement as Trap failed over and over again to create a simple barrier around himself.

"How long do you think it will take for Trap to get it."

"Not long he got it once now he has to figure out how to use it again and our training is done but you need to have him use it 3 times a day till he gets it 3 times in a row then increase it till he can consistently get the shield up then you can widen it to protect yourself in dangerous situations that call for it."

"I can do that along with our daily training."

Gray watched as a green shield appeared around Trap.

"Ok Looks like he got it you and your team may go now be careful I don't want to see you again for a while hopefully the next time will be your match with the gym leader on video."

"Thanks for the help I'll be going now."

Gray and his team walked towards Petalburg woods finally entering for the second time this crazy week and hopefully the last time till after his first badge.

Once in a ways Gray was battling a Shroomish and had Trap use a Bulldoze knocking it out when out stumbles a kid with white hair and a long black scarf and a skinny body falling over a white bug that came out of the ground the panicked bug then jumped onto the boy's face and Gray can't help but laugh.

"I think she likes you." Gray called in between laughter.
