Money Doesn't Wait

Money Doesn't Wait

Yuzhi wasn't given a lot of time to adapt, and the academy already started on the Second of September.

But he didn't care since it wasn't like he needed to do much. He had only a few items to bring inside his dorm, which he shared with 3 other males, 2 that might as well be squids to him, and one that could maybe be useful to him in the future.

But besides that, Yuzhi spent the rest of the day informing himself about Stone Frost Academy.

He didn't try to learn basic stuff that he assumed he would be taught tomorrow, but instead those useful gems only a few students knew.

There was an area on the second floor of the library where there was a constant silencing formation that everyone could access.

Or that every Wednesday, at 6 a clock, on the second training ground people from all ages would meet and help each other, spar with each other, and teach each other.

These were the kinds of amazing things that one would only learn in their later years.

Besides that, Yuzhi also wanted to study in the library but decided not to.

While studying was important, to him, his cultivation base was still his number one priority. And these past few days, the progress he made wasn't very satisfactory.

Partially because it would of course take longer to reach the Indigo Qi Channeling Realm, but mostly because unlike when the fake him was in control, he cultivated less every day.

So today, he decided to cultivate till late at night before going to sleep.

The next morning, he needed to wake up at 7:30 so he could attend his first class at 8.

And similar to a university, he had a professor in an aula, around 40 students beside him following the lesson.

His first professor would teach them about Qi, all its affinities, the best way to use it, and much more. But he didn't start today and instead started explaining the academy, its utilities, the privileges the students had, and how to thrive in this academy.

Most utilities of the academy were free, like the library or training grounds, food and dorms shared the same price.

But one could get Academy Points, which could buy them luxuries like tastier food, single dorms, clothes, and much more. But also things like Intensity Strength Training, Third Library Floor, and much more.

While Yuzhi would have liked it if everything was free, this system wasn't bad, and every month he would get 100 points, plus he could earn extra by getting them appointed by a professor by winning a contest or something like that. One could also get a job within the academy, paying a monthly salary.

Mission were also an option, but not for Yuzhi since only a second-year student could do them.

Then they had another class today, this time the professor being an expert in the field of physical bodies and fighting. What surprised Yuzhi was that this was actually the examiner.

Both lessons were 2 hours, showing how much freedom the academy gave.

She also didn't start today with a real class, instead started explaining the freedom and restriction a student had. And here Yuzhi also realized that only those coming from poorer conditions didn't know these, while those more fortunate didn't even truly pay attention.

As a student, during weekdays they needed to remain on academy grounds. While on the weekend they could explore the city.

Besides that, there were basic rules of what they couldn't do, and what the punishment could potentially be.

While most people didn't pay attention, Yuzhi did with great focus. While in his previous life, he certainly wasn't a lawyer, having an understanding helped him a great way before being able to afford a good one.

After this, everyone had the entire day free, and the atmosphere in the class was a bit awkward. A few people knew someone else, but there was no real friend group forming.

Yuzhi took this chance to try and make as many friends as possible, not because he was interested in becoming friends with these kids, but because many of them came from good families.

So Yuzhi, a handsome kid whose appearance shone with warmth, a chasmateric speech, and the willingness to talk to people.

Many people quickly gathered around him like magnets.

And since it was lunch, those more introverted couldn't escape.

After lunch, Yuzhi decided to start cultivating, while making connections wasn't bad, focusing on himself was better.

Soon, 5 days had passed in Stone Frost Academy, and all the students adapting to the change.

Yuzhi fitted great in the academy. He was well-known in his entire year, and friendly with most. The teachers liked him because he was talented, humble, and paid attention to their lessons.

Yuzhi liked his current life, the progress he was making was also steady.

Every day he felt closer to the Indigo Qi Channeling Realm, and his understanding of this world had increased.

And since it was weekend today, he decided to go to the city to make some money.

While money may not be effective inside the academy, outside it would still be very effective.

Of course, making money in 2 days wouldn't be easy. But he also wasn't searching to get rich in just 2 days. After all, Rome wasn't created overnight.

These 2 days he would search for what his idea cost in his mind. And then maybe try to get some money which he could use as capital to start his business.

Now, what exactly was his business? Plain old gambling.

In this world, gambling existed in many forms, but not in the card form. Rock gambling, horse betting, fight betting...

Fortunately, paper creation was quite advanced making it not too hard for him to create playing cards.

His biggest obstacle would be to have a venue where he could operate his gambling den. And his second problem was getting customers.

For the first one, he needed money, which wasn't easy to get. The only way to get money inside the academy was to get it as a salary from being a professor's assistant.

But this would take too long, so he would need to get money outside the academy, but while he didn't need that much money, he still needed a considerable amount.

And now after 2 days of searching for the best deals he could, he realized how truly much money he needed.

Paper, while not super expensive, did cost quite a lot. But ink was an even bigger problem, especially the red one. And then lastly, he needed a place to operate.

It would cost quite a lot, even in shabbier neighborhoods, to rent a place for 1 week, which would still be something his current finances couldn't allow.

Yuzhi returned to his dorm when it became dinner, and started thinking of what options he had.

There were 2 things he could think of. Option 1: Search for a new money-making method. Option 2: Make enough money to operate for 1 week. No, if he was resourceful, he could do with 2 days.

He would just need to hire people to spread rumors about it and then operate it the next weekend. If just as he hoped, and this worked out, he would have enough money to hire people to operate his business.

Then, he would need to search for trustworthy people who he...

Yuzhi was immersed in the thought of running a business again, and even when going back to his dorm he didn't stop thinking about the countless things that could happen.

Even when he went to sleep, he couldn't stop thinking about it, but he did also receive an interesting thought, he could get some money from Jin Huang. He knew this guy was loaded, even here at the academy where ingots of gold and silver weren't as precious.

So after their first lesson, he approached Jin Huang. During this first week, he had cultivated friendships with pretty much everyone, but he had focused on Zhou Jun and Jin Huang. Whom he could currently call good friends.

"Jin Huang, what do you think about making a bet? If I win, I get 10 Academy Points from you, and if you win, you get 10 Academy Points from me."

"Hm, I don't know?" Jin Huang wasn't sold on it yet.

"Come on, I know how hard you have been training in the Strength Intensity Training room." The Strength Intensity Room was nothing short of amazing, and it could allow students to train under 5 times gravitational pressure.

And Jin Huang was what some people would call fat, including Yuzhi. He had been trying his best to lose weight using the Strength Intensity Training Room. But the problem was that 10 Academy Points could only buy one 15 minutes in the Strength Intensity Training Room.

And even his rich ass couldn't buy himself Academy Points, so he was currently in quite some need of them.

"Alright, what's the game?"

"It's just some rock paper siccor. But first, we will play 3 games that don't count and then we will play a best out of 3."

"Alright." Although Jin Huang found the amount of games a bit strange, he couldn't find anything wrong with them.

They began their first game, and they both played rock, then Jin Huang played paper and Yuzhi scissors.

The second round started, and Jin Huang played paper again and Yuzhi rock. In the third round both Jin Huang and Yuzhi played rock. Then Yuzhi played paper while Jin Huang played rock again.

After talking for a while, they began the serious round, and Yuzhi felt that he had a pretty good grasp on Jin Huang.

When comfortable, he played rock, when not, he played the opposite of what his opponent played in the previous round.

So just as Yuzhi expected, Jin Huang started with rock which he easily beat using paper.

And then the next round Jin Huang thought he had cleverly laid a trap for Yuzhi, and played rock again, thinking Yuzhi would play scissors, expecting him to play paper.

While he may not be the smartest tool in the shed, he had grown up under a businessman.

When it came to deals, he knew what to look for and what to watch out for.

So when Yuzhi proposed the 3 fake rounds earlier. He knew it was so that Yuzhi could get a read on him.

So he accepted the deal, thinking he held the upper hand on Yuzhi, using the fact that Yuzhi didn't think of him as the smartest person to his advantage.

But who would have expected that Yuzhi would have calculated all that and have such a good read over him?

Jin Huang couldn't help but admire while also slightly fear the man in front of him.

And Yuzhi was happy everything played out just as he expected.

And while some people may look at this scene and think that Jin Huang was actually quite smart. That wasn't the case.

He was someone who grew up under a businessman, he may not be smart, but he was knowledgeable and experienced.

In a way, he was the opposite of someone like Zhou Jun.

Zhou Jun was smart but naive, and Jin Huang was not very smart but experienced.
