Yuzhi did his best to enter this strange trance-like state Xiang Xin was talking about, and after trying for several minutes, he finally achieved it. He felt like a small leaf inside a giant ocean.
He did his best to keep focus and tried to find this white string in this dark space. But to no success, and Yuzhi lost focus, leaving the trance-like state.
But now having succeeded once, Yuhzi had much more ease when entering the trance-like state.
So after only a few minutes, he succeeded and started searching again, now for longer, but still no success.
He did this for 2 more times before finally succeding on the third.
'I finally found it.' In front of him, there was a small thin white string, glowing beautifully. He grabbed it, and it felt like a wet slippery fish that was hard to hold, but he did his best, and beyond anything he expected, when he left the trance-like state, he could find this strange connection with something that felt bigger than himself, despite it being his soul.
He had achieved the White Qi Channeling realm, and he was the first among the 4 students.
"Elder Xin, I have achieved the White Qi Channeling Realm." Yuzhi stood up and put his hands together bowing respectfully to Xiang Xin.
"Congratulations, while waiting for the rest, you can already explore this connection your body and soul now have."
"Alright, Elder Xin". Yuzhi quickly retook his seat and started exploring his spiritual vein.
It was something he had a hard time describing. It looked like a liquid but acted more like something solid. There were several holes in it, both large and small, but those holes disappeared only to appear somewhere else.
After having fun exploring his White Qi Channel, he started actually channeling Qi, having not so much success the first time.
It felt like trying to suck water through a cane. But the cane had countless holes.
Even if one succeeded, the amount of water they got would be very small.
But even that small amount of Qi was something that fascinated Yuhzi.
It was like a gas that could turn liquid or solid at his command. He could control it like he was telekinetic. It was mystical and Yuzhi fell in love with it.
Soon, everyone had also achieved the White Qi Channeling Realm. And Yuzhi immediately noticed Lu Wei wasn't happy someone did something before him.
And although Yuzhi found this very childish, Lu Bei was still a child so he couldn't blame him too much.
"Good, now that everyone has achieved the White Qi Channeling Realm, we can start with tempering your Qi Channels." Xiang Xin then said everything he had explained before, showcasing just how to do it. And then started guiding everyone.
However, it was clear to Yuzhi that Xiang Xin mostly focused on Lu Wei and Lu Yin.
But Yuzhi didn't let it bother him too much and just focused on tempering his Qi Channel. And while it wasn't hard to use the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique, the hard part came in actually making progress.
The entire time Yuzhi spent in the garden had only helped him with turning a very small part of his White Qi Channel into Purple.
But this didn't diminish Yuzhi's excitement, and after class ended, Yuzhi quickly went home, and ate something before starting to cultivate again.
He even skipped dinner, only focusing on cultivating.
The Next Day
Xiang Xin started the day by explaining Qi. And Yuzhi was able to learn a lot here, after all, his studies yesterday would never be able to compare to the study of countless generations.
"Qi can be everything and nothing. It can be solid while acting like a liquid, or travel as if it were a gas while being solid." Xiang Xin showed his beautiful control over the Qi, bringing a large blob of Qi out of his soul.
"The better you have over your Qi and the higher your realm, the better and further you will be able to control your Qi." Xiang Xin started showcasing again, easily moving the Qi over the entire room, precisely making it just not touch the body of everyone here.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"Of course, there is also the option to shoot your Qi in a certain direction. The disadvantages are that you can't control your Qi anymore and it will slowly disappear. But, this way it has the advantage of traveling much further, and also much faster." Xiang Xin did exactly that, shooting a very small amount of his Qi through the room, and making a small hole in the door at the end of the room.
Everyone fell silent after seeing this, they were all sure, that if that was directed towards them, they wouldn't be able to react, much less survive.
"Controlling Qi requires incredible focus, that's why trying to control 2 separate Qi's at the same time is incredibly hard." This time, Xiang Xin didn't do a demonstration, probably because he couldn't do it.
The lessen then continued for a while before it was time to start tempering their Qi Channel. They did this for the following hours while Xiang Xin gave them helpful critiques like making the arc of your arms rounder, or slightly increasing your breathing rhythm.
After what seemed to be days of cultivating, school ended and everyone went back home.
There Yuzhi kept cultivating, having minimal contact with his family.
All this cultivating had fruited some results. There was now a sizable part of his Qi Channel that had a Purple color.
He had also tried to turn this purple color into indigo. But he felt like trying to cook an egg on ice, having no results.
'I will need to ask Elder Xin about this tomorrow.'
The Next Day
Yuzhi had asked his question, and the answer he got was quite interesting.
"You need to think of your Qi Channel like something that has its own will, not an object. If you had the choice, would you only focus on training one arm or first train your entire body and then focus on reaching a new level of strength. Besides that, the current mastery you have over the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique is so low that it's similar to throwing a glass of water on a burning house.'
Besides that, the rest of the day was filled with Xiang Xin explaining all the kinds of techniques that existed. This was a pretty boring lesson because it didn't really contain much.
Xiang Xin only talked about 3 types of techniques.
The first type is the tempering type, which could temper a Qi Channel, just like the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique.
The second technique was the type that helped gather Qi more quickly with fewer losses. They were called Gathering Type and Xiang Xin said soon we would be taught one.
The last one was the type where Qi was actually used. Here, Xiang Xin said that we would also learn 1 technique, but it would come after having learned a Gathering Technique.
After that, it was just like always, cultivating for the rest of the day.
And Yuzhi felt like the speed at which he was making progress was also increasing, making him incredibly happy.
The Next DayUnlike any other day, they didn't start this day in the classroom, but outside in the garden.
"Soon, I will be teaching you a Gathering Technique. Its name is the 3 Autumn Fallen Leaves Gathering Technique. And even in the future, you will still be able to use it due to how good it is." When speaking of this technique, it was clear that Xiang Xin held this technique in great reverence.
For some reason, Xiang Xin did not a lot of explanation, only letting everyone practice while giving pointers.
And even after hours, Yuzhi and the rest had no success.
Then, for the rest of the day, it was just like normal, filled with cultivation.
But unlike on the other days, Xiang Xin gave everyone homework.
"I want everyone to train the 3 Autumn Fallen Leaves Gathering Technique today. Don't worry if it doesn't succeed, it's normal that it takes time".
3 Days Later
Yuzhi was sitting in the garden of the training ground, trying to comprehend the 3 Autumn Fallen Leaves Gathering Technique.
Its use was to cover the holes and slightly increase its speed, by using leaves of Qi to cover them.
But how was one supposed to make Leaves of Qi when he could only control the Qi after it had passed through his Qi Channel.
And then, the technique was to create 3 leaves, but how was he supposed to even control them.
Yuzhi couldn't understand, it felt like math in his previous life.
After thinking and thinking, suddenly Yuzhi had an idea.
Slowly, he gathered Qi and created a leaf, but the Qi hadn't even left the Qi Channel, then he stopped the process of Channeling Qi, and pushed back all the Qi, the leaf among it, before letting it settle on a large hole he found, and here was the import moment that could determine if what he found was something useful or just a dumb idea.
He started pushing the leaf made of Qi against the wall of the Qi Channel. But he didn't use the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique, which made the Qi Channel resist. But that didn't stop Yuhzi.
Soon, this idea that he thought of had bloomed into something beautiful, after fighting against all the resistance, the leaf stuck against the wall of the Qi Channel, and even when the hole disappeared, the Qi disappeared along it only to appear again.
It seemed that he had succeeded, but he had also reached a limit. He had used a lot of energy to place the leaf there, and doing it again would be beyond his limit.
So instead he started Channeling Qi, and just as the technique promised. The loss he had decreased while the speed increased.
While looking at the leaf on his Qi Channel slowly disappearing, he realized something amazing.
'So this is how you use it.' The Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique is required on the Qi inside your Qi Channel, and then use the technique to temper the walls.
But you didn't need to just use raw Qi, you needed to use a leaf made of Qi, similar to the one used in the 3 Autumn Fallen Leaves Gathering Technique.
That leaf, combined with the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique was the way to use the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique to its full potential.
He opened his eyes, great excitement and determination filling them.
'Did this kid realize how to use the 3 Autumn Fallen Leaves Gathering Techniques. Then he mustn't be far from also realizing the true use of the Lush Stone Leaf Tempering Technique.' Xiang Xin was quite surprised that this kid was the first, while he was quite mature and intelligent. He was the only one not coming from a family with a recent cultivator in them.
The reason why he hadn't given the answer to these kids was because if they realized it themself, they would emerge much stronger from it.
