Chapter 30 : No Escape

Chapter 30 : No Escape

Taking a few deep breaths Azreal began to concentrate on channeling his Divine Energy through the sword, after about a minute or so the sword was covered in an invisible layer of energy.

Feeling proud of his accomplishment he decided to move to the next step.

‘Inferno!...’

Boom!

The entire sword along with his arm was suddenly transformed into a flaming torch.

Releasing the breath he’d been holding in, he observed the flames that consumed his sword.

Burning so gently, if he hadn’t seen what this flames could do then he would’ve thought that it was harmless, pure and flawless, moving in whichever direction the wind blew.

A truly hypnotic scene.

While caught up in his fantasy the runes on the sword started operating slowly absorbing the [Purple Inferno].

Gripping the sword tighter he was ready to try his plan.

"Let's see if this works"

Channeling more Divine Energy into the sword, the Inferno kept growing brighter becoming increasingly chaotic as it grew larger.

.............

Meanwhile, some of the soldiers inside the camp that were gambling started to take notice of something that was happening.

"Do you guys feel that?"

"What?"

"Now that you mention it something does kinda seem off"

"Has anyone seen those five idiots that we sent out it's been over an hour, they should've been back by now"

"If you guys wanna go check you can but shit am not going out in that cold"

"Let's go"

When they all went out of the tent everything seemed normal.

"Shit man do you see anything out here?"

"I know something feels off am sure of it........ahh never mind maybe it was just my imagination"

"Your damn right it was just your imagination.......Shit I don't know why it's always so cold at night around here"

Right as they were about to go back inside they saw a huge wave of purple flames blocking off the right side of the of the camp, before anyone of them could comprehend what just happened another huge line of fire blocked off the left side.

None of them got the chance to even organize their thoughts, another huge wave of fire welled up at the entrance of the camp cutting them off completely.

The entire camp now glowed with an ominous purple hue, not an ounce of heat could be felt but no one paid attention to it, all they cared about was the giant wall of fire looming over them.

The Alliance camp was built on the side of a small mountain so as to prevent them from suffering attacks from the rear, as well as, forest on both sides of the camp so if they needed to retreat they could use the forest as cover it was built on the side of a small mountain so the couldn't get attacked from the back while there was a forest nearby if the needed to retreat but now the only escape route they were left with was the mountain, the most difficult one.

"Fuck! Those Gaza scum, of course, they attack now! Someone find a way to get in touch with the commander let her know what's happening here!"

"How are we supposed to do that she's probably halfway back to the capital by now!"

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

“Fuck what are you guys standing around for!? Get some fucking water to put out the fire!”

With that one reasonable shout all the soldiers started scrambling around to gather water to try and put out the fire.

Everyone started trying to put out the fire.

“What the fuck are you all doing!?! Focus one part of the fire! If you keep throwing at random parts how’s it supposed to have any effect”

With that reminder the soldiers quickly got more organized but still any other came.

“Are you fucking kidding me?!? Aim low!! Throw at the base of the fire!”

The soldiers who kept barking orders was already seeing his life flashing being his eyes.

‘Lord Death please don’t take me with them...’

If he could drop to his knees and start praying he would but chose to remain standing for fear of ruining everyone’s morals.

The water didn’t seem to be able to affect the fire in any way but still had hope that it might work but his hope was soon crushed when he saw a soldier pass over a barrel of wine.

Without hesitation in a voice devoid of all hope, he spoke to a soldier close to you.

"Go get Lord Kyle"

‘Why would Gaza send a unit to attack us now?’

..............

Since he couldn’t manipulate his Divine Energy how he’d like to he decided on the next best thing.

Constantly channeling Divine Energy into the blazing sword, the fire kept growing eventually covering his entire body only his eyes could occasionally be seen.

The trees in the forest were just tall enough to hide the flame but without a doubt, the pressure could be felt in the camp.

Once he felt it was enough he slashed out with the blade, sending out a huge crescent wave of fire closely followed by another two slashes so when the first dissipates the second will be able to travel on the already carved out path.

Seeing the first one being successful he repeated the process, this time the wall of fire was even bigger due to his excitement, the last one was erected behind him.

Because of how the camp was set up he didn't have to do anything else from where he was standing he could see their only escape route; the mountain and one slash and they all be dead.

Watching the mountain for about half an hour he didn’t see any soldier, so he was starting to get confused and annoyed.

'Are they all planning on dying here?......'

But those thoughts only lasted a second before about ten soldiers who looked like they were searching for something saw him, the soldiers were startled but seeing his plain clothes as well as the sword and that fiendish smile on his face they knew he was involved.

'Powerless again?......'

"You fucking Gaza scum!"

"Do you guys have no respect f-"

Azreal didn't really plan on having a conversation with any of them so before they could even get into what they were going ramble about they were all decapitated. In short order, the phantom souls were all absorbed.

The fire that was on the blade had long been extinguished so he wasn't worried about them being destroyed by the fire.

Unable to suppress his curiosity he summoned the fifteen phantoms.

The ten that had just been killed looked just like how the previous five looked but the original five didn't look the same, they were slightly bigger than a few minutes ago as well as their bones had a bit of a purple glow to it that was constantly moving it looked just like the flames.

'What is that?.....'

"Who’s that?"

"ahhh!! The bodies!"

A bunch more soldiers had arrived and they were all seething with anger when they saw their fallen comrades lying headless on the ground.

“It’s okay I’ll be joining them”

Just like before he beheaded all of them without a second thought.

All the soldiers that he's encountered so far weren't even in the Divine way so he didn't need to use any flashy technique or anything like that, what was happening now in terms of strength was no different from a human squashing an ant.

He had already called back the spirits into the runes since he wasn’t sure if he allowed them to run wild and kill everyone that he’d be able to collect their souls and right now he was in army building mode so he didn’t want to experiment.

...............

The soldiers that were at the back of the camp had started to panic because of the news they just got.

"What do you mean Lord Kyle isn't in his room!"

The soldiers didn't know what to do just based on the flames alone they knew they couldn't beat the people who were attacking them and there only hope for survival Lord Kyle couldn't be found.

Every single one of the soldiers was thinking the same thing but didn't dare voice it out loud.

Did Lord Kyle run away?

"Who are you!?"

All the soldier's attention was attracted by the shout, looking in the direction that the soldiers who had just shouted was looking they all saw a grey-haired and grey-eyed young man walking towards them with a black sword in one had a sheath in the other.

Looking at the young man who had ignored the question walking towards them they all knew that they were going to die, his hair and eyes gave off an ominous feeling and the sword in his hand, just by looking at it they felt like their souls were being sucked out.

Every one of them were shaking with fear, the wailing of the trapped souls seemed to have a psychological effect on them.

"Kid I think you should leave, the night is still dark so we can't see your face but if you insist on killing official soldiers of the alliance in the middle of a ce-"

Before the soldier who seemed like their leader could finish speaking the young man in front of him had disappeared and just as he was about to breathe a sigh of relief thinking that he'd managed to convince him his body started to feel cold.

'What's going on?....'

He'd lost his ability to speak, looking down at his uniform as well as the ground that was dyed red he didn't even need to think to figure out what happened

'That little fuc.......'
