“Happy birthday Grim, Happy birthday George!” My Mother Undine, the Leviton, called to her sleeping children.

“It’s my birthday Grim” I shouted like the little kid I am. After all, including my past life I’m only seven…. yeah I had an awful childhood in the other world. My family died, my friends shunned me because I couldn’t focus on work. I thought elementry school was supposed to be a place of happiness, but for me each day was torture. But this new world is so nice! Grim is always there for me. When I tried walking and fell over and scraped my knee, he used healing magic on it to make the pain go away! I was also surprised that death/Grim could learn healing magic.

“It’s mine too George!” He shouted back.

“Whatever, now we get to have our birthing ceremonies!” I had been told about the ceremonies constantly by Undine and Scorch, Scorch is our father, the Draconian. The birthing ceremony is where a child is given their blessings, and their status plates. I kind of have a good idea of who is going to bless me and Grim though.

“Kids come on, get your nice clothes on” Dad yelled from the kitchen.

“We’re coming. We’re coming.” Grim said loudly.

“Good, I don’t want your pancakes to get cold.” He responded.

“Pancakes!” We both yelled. We almost never ate those. We started rushing down the stairs of our house bumping into each other while trying to get our clothes on as we went. Then I got angry.

“Where are the pancakes!” I said slowly but with more killing intent than a hungry dragon, even Grim, a GOD, started sweating.

“Ummmmm…….” He was stalling for time, making me angrier. I LOVE PANCAKES, getting between me and pancakes is a death sentence I will claw at your face like a baby in a horror film. Thankfully father realized this and thought up “Oh, I was just about to start making them, I want them to be as fresh as possible on your special day” He said with glee.

“Yay! Pancakes” I started dancing around as I always do when the prospect of pancakes is near.

Father made the pancakes and they were even better than normal. I bet it’s because it’s a special day!

“Kids, lets head to the temple.”

We all went outside and walked to the beach, Mother transformed into her Leviathan form( Undine Leviathan Form ) and Father into his dragon form. I got on Mothers back because I loved the water. Grim got on Fathers back because he let me decide, although Mother and Father let grim decide since he was a minute older than me. A minute but still. Although technically he’s millions of years old, but still.

We arrived at the temple at noon. When we got close I saw an amazing sight. Tons of Sea and Air creatures were all arriving at the island with their children for the ceremony. This is a special temple, because it is made for all mythical half breeds. Other temples discriminate against half breeds, especially ones like Grim and I who are in fact triple breeds. We are 1/7th Human, 3/7th Dragon, and 3/7th Leviathan.

When we arrived, Father (in his human form) and Grim were waiting. Mother gently placed me on the sand and transformed back into her human form.

We entered the temple which looked like the parthenon. Inside, all the children were told to line up before the altar. Grim insisted we go last, so we did. Everyone else went. Some were notable, one girl had an affinity with both light and dark magic, a boy had a strength stat of 86, and one boy got blessings from 7 gods 2 of them were major gods. Now it’s my turn. I’m very nervous. What if my stats are really bad. What if I’m not good at magic. What if…

I took a deep breath and stood at the alter. The windows showing stats and blessings appeared in the air for all to see.

Almost everyone in the room fainted.
