The traitor

Young miss, young miss it's time for your medicine "Jannat entered and spoke

"Medicine? What medicine?"Helen asked. She was confused. There was never a mentioning about Villainess Helen being sick.

The maid looked flustered, her fingers clearly showed her anxiety.

Helen, her master was now a lot more intimidating than before.

She spoke, in a low but clear voice.

"Young miss you usually drink this medicine to replenish your energy as your body is weak"

Helen thought "Is there really a need for medicine. I know this body is weak. But is it really weak compared to the other noble ladies. "

She stared at the maid, who stood holding a glass bowl of medicine. The medicine looked like mixture of different herbs. It was brown and did not look appetizing at all.

Helen stretched her hand and spoke-

"This body is weak for sure, bring me the medicine"

Jannat came closer and gave the bitter looking medicine to her mistress.

"The medicine looks oddly disgusting.

Sniff...

Why does this have an awful smell....?

I, I think I have smelled this somewhere when I went on a mission.

Though there are many herbs mixed together.

There is a faint smell of Aconitum coreanum hidden in this medicine full of herbs.

[# It can be used as a medicinal drug as well as a very potent poison. Do not use it #]

Isn't this a poison?" HELEN THOUGHT

"Why why would someone want to poison a Duke's daughter. The only heir. Is it for the position or for some evil aims to be achieved?

Helen was shocked. .She knew about poisons as she was an assassin who was best at poisoning too.

"Why would my servant bring me poison to drink? That too every day?"

Helen stared at Jannat blankly while holding the bowl of poison medicine.

Helen concentrated on her body

"Now that I think about it, this body seems to be clogged and something is stopping a force that is trying to escape from inside me."

"JANNAT WHO RECOMMENDED THIS FOR ME" Helen glared and asked...

"It ....it ...it was prescribed by the doctor when you were 10 my lady " Jannat answered stuttering.

Jannat surely knows something, she is scared... I need to know what is happening.

Who wants to poison me?

Is this poison the reason Helen didn't have any elemental power?

Who will benefit from this?

WHO IS THE TRAITOR?

All these were the questions Helen the death queen had to find answer for

....

Helen wanted to organize her thoughts.

Jannat was a hindrance for Helen.

She ordered Jannat to

"Go and prepare breakfast for me I'll come down soon"

"Miss, but the medicine?"Jannat was ordered by someone to always watch Helen drink the medicine. So she was reluctant to leave.

Knowing Jannat's intention, Helen glared and ordered in a cold voice-

"I'll drink it, you can leave now. I'll be there soon."

As a maid Jannat had no right to refuse the order from her lady.

"Yes miss" she said in a low voice

Once Jannat was out of the room. Helen was left alone.

"I'll check my pulse" Helen checked her pulse to find out that she was being poisoned by the Aconitum poison which clots blood and reduces vitality ...

The amount of poison in her body was too much to be expelled within a day.

Only a special and rare herb could cure her poison soon.

"I will have to start acupuncture secretly and be stronger!"

Helen decided that no one should know about her discovery about being poisoned.

She knew that there were people who wished harm to her in the manor.

"It will be hard to find who the Traitor is, but no one can escape from me."
