Peyton Griffin's POV
"You know when I said I would do anything you wanted. I thought you had a brain in there." I shot daggers at my best friend's head.
"Tell me you're not having fun." She grinned at me.
I did a double-take at the crowd of people that surrounded us while trying to avoid drinks and food spilling onto my white top.
"Define fun," I replied dryly.
"Fun is when you both shut up, so I can enjoy this." Danny scowled at us before ravishing the usual curvy redhead that straddled his hips.
"You know what fuck this." Danny said as he moved with the redhead out of the crowd and towards God knows where "I'll be back in five." He hollered.
One look at Charlie, and you could see the raw emotions painted in her eyes, hurt being the dominant one.
I hooked my arm in hers and bumped my hips with her. A wicked smile graced my lips, "What's to say we get out of here and get two large body bags and rent out a part of the Pacific."
"Tempting," She sniffed. I made a mental note to hang Danny with the red linger I found on the floor this morning. "But this is a once-in-a-lifetime concert. Who knows when the next time Caleb will come to this town?"
Ah yes, Caleb bloody Parks, came to the Bahamas as his first town to start his world tour. Yes, his voice was manageable now, thanks to the speakers and whatever techno stuff they were using to make it sound less like a cat hacking out a furball in the tone of the alphabet.
"Okay, you enjoy this while I find the bathroom and use it. I promise to be back before Joey puts to bed."
She grinned. Mission accomplished.
I tried my best to navigate the crowd and avoid opening my mouth. The last thing I need is a mob of angry fangirls or mothers who didn't know when to grow up.
After what felt like ten years, I found a decent bathroom that had a sign which said 'NO ENTRY'. But if I ever follow signs, I doubt I would be here.
So without further ado, I walked in and did the usual. That sandwich I had earlier clearly was not sitting well with me.
I walked out and came face-to-face with the blonde moron that had me here in the first place, Caleb Bloody Parks.
"Who are you?" He questioned.
I guess it's safe to say that the rude musician stereotype does stick.
"A human being," I might as well kill time. I wonder what Charlie, Lola and the other girls in this place see in this guy.
Sure he is not ugly, but I still say he is overrated.
"Are you done drinking me in?" He said with a cocky grin.
"I think my irises have cracked enough. As much as I would love to go blind, I'd rather get back to my friends than sit through this torture. Thank you for your concert." I smiled sweetly and tried to strut by.
Tried being the keyword because this overgrown gecko gripped my forearm with his scaly hands.
"I know you're not used to seeing a celebrity, but let's get one thing clear, Love. You don't walk onto unauthorized areas without a pass, and you definitely do not insult someone who has the power to disgrace that pretty face of yours?"
I murmured a quick apology to Charlie, hoping she would hear me, "Did you just call me pretty?" I fake gushed.
His face morphed into a sour look as he looked me up and down, clearly not amused by my witty remark. I snapped my hands at him to get back his attention.
"Eyes up here, buddy," I gestured to my face with two fingers, "Thanks for the concert. I'll make sure to ask for a refund when I leave."
I dragged my hand from his grip and walked away. It's like the only decent guys left in this world are Mr Rogers and my stepbrother, who has a signed death wish from me once this nightmare of a night is over.
Apparently, the slightly cute blonde moron was lucky because he didn't try to stop me again, and I didn't rain on his parade. I get that I have no real motive for disliking him when he doesn't have any idea of who I am.
Or rather my name, I should get my mouth stuffed with cotton. It's a miracle that parents still trust me with their kids.
By the time I found Charlie, the crowd had gone hysterical because Caleb had gotten back on stage.
I know what you're thinking. Why are the children of the most dominant people of the Empire; staying in the crowd instead of renting a VIP stand? Well, it's called hiding in plain sight, and Lola is here.
I never gave her a chance to explain herself before I made that deal with Jordan. I walked out, and since then, I haven't heard from the two of them.
I stirred my thoughts from drifting to my other half and directed them at Charlie as she kept jumping with the fans. I took a closer look at her and noticed that her steps were uncoordinated, and she almost backhanded me, were it not for my quick reflexes.
"Charlie?" I took her face in my eyes and saw the unsteady movements in her eyes.
I let out a string of colourful words quietly. It seems that my mom would bunk beds with my stepbrother.
I drag Charlie through the crowd with a determined look on my face. I find it hard to comprehend Danny's true intentions with this girl. A week ago, he admitted he liked her; and now he is playing catch with a girl's mouth right in front of her.
Charlie has always been known not to handle being drunk well, so I plan on getting her out of here before the world recognizes us.
"Slow down, Peyton. You're walking too fast, and my head is starting to ache badly," Charlie whined as we made our way through the crows and exit doors.
The sight I met by the car really amazed me; instead of seeing the car moving like a roller coaster in an amusement park, the screams of excitement were replaced with moans. I am met with Danny having a cigar with a pissed-off expression.
I shoved past him and trapped Charlie in the back seat; to keep her from letting 'her at him' as she had been saying once the sight of him was in her eyes.
"Care to explain, Romeo?" I hissed in annoyance.
"What's there to explain, Penny?" He rolled his eyes and avoided my angry gaze.
"Gee, I don't know. Let's start with the one thing that makes you a man. It seems pretty clear that even though you like Charlie, you can't seem to finally grow a set and stop acting like a horny kid."
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
"Since when are kids horny?" He snorted once again, avoiding where I was taking this conversation to.
I don't know what Danny has in mind, but I am the driver of this car. And I plan on bashing a few pedestrians before we reach our final destination.
"Test me again, Torent, and I will shove that cigarette so far into your throat that no redhead could have ever taken you that deep." I seethed through gritted teeth.
He sighed and threw the cigar down to the floor, and stepped on it. He looked heavenward before turning to look me in the eye, "Tell me, Penny, if you were stuck in a predicament like this, what would be your reaction?"
As usual, a comment was at the tips of my tongue, but he kept my mouth shut with, "A word and I will rip your tongue out and slap you with it. I mean come on Penny! I know that I never came to terms with your deal with Kendall; but just so we are clear, you not only put my ass and your sister's ass on the line. You put hers too." He paused to point at the back seat of the car. "So I think pigs should fly because I have no idea how to deal with all of this."
"It's just been a week, and it hurts me a lot that I can't just be with her, but knowing that Troy may harm her just to get us in holy matrimony. Sue me if I handle all this stress by having random fucks but,"
I silenced him by moving forward and wrapping my hands around his waist.
"I suggest you hug me back because this might just be the last time, I will ever hug you."
He slowly wrapped his hands around me. Normally, Danny and I don't usually show affection, especially for each other, but I think we both needed this with what's been going on.
I looked higher to meet his green eyes and smirked, "I am not apologizing."
"I'd be shocked if you did." He humoured.
"Exactly. I have a plan, but if we want to make this work. She is coming with us." I risked looking at my friend, who got intoxicated intentionally.
Danny looked at me like I had grown a set of horns, "You really think we should drop her back at her apartment, with that bodyguard of hers raising brows and let's not forget her mom." I explained.
Danny sighed because he knew, that I was right. Let's just hope this gamble that I want to play will not land us in the hospital.
Remaining quiet, Danny and I got into the car and drove out of the parking lot. Blondie is lucky that the parking boot was empty; I was looking forward to keeping to my promise.
"Peyton, I hate your brother!" Charlie said as we went into the main road.
Danny rolled his eyes and kept his eyes forward.
Smart man.
"Head over to your Dad's company."
Danny glanced at me for confirmation, "Trust me on this."
He stepped on the gas pedal; the car went faster to a familiar drug factory.
"I mean, what the hell does he see in redheads! I thought that marriage between you guys won't hold, but if it does make sure to hang all those girls' heads above the bed on your wedding night."
Danny visibly clenched his jaw as Charlie revealed what was supposed to be a secret.
Note to self; strangle Charlie when she is sober.
"It hurts that I kept my virginity for that ferret fucker, and he still fucks around in my presence. You know what, I'm sold on that idea. Let's stop at the shop and get the body bags; I have a real estate agent on speed dial."
I turned to look at her, and she was in tears. It broke my heart, but between the ferret fucker and me, it's safe to say that his heart is in pieces as Charlie keeps on pouring her heart out.
"Charlie, why don't you just calm down and take..."
She cut me off with an over-exaggerated yawn, "Even I know you're not stupid enough to defend that walking Rowley, at times, I wish he would just drop dead!"
Before you know it, she is sniffing to stop the tears in her eyes, "You know what hurts the most? I still love him, and no matter how many girls he has sex with, I'll probably still be the plain Jane, that he will never stop to look two seconds at."
I think that, was Danny's breaking point because he abruptly stopped the car and turned swiftly to look at her. He grabbed her face and gave her a kiss. One that I am sure would be illegal in some countries because of how long it lasted.
When the kiss ended, I was not picking at the grey roots from my head.
"Let's get four things straight Char. One, I am not planning on dropping dead; till I make your first time one hell of a night. Two, I care about you a lot and now is not the time for us to get together. No matter how many girls I get into; I would gladly castrate myself and grow another pair just to show you how much I want 'an' us. Three, you are not a plain Jane; you are very far away from it, and that's one thing I love about you. It hurts that you won't remember this when you wake up tomorrow, but please wait for me. And finally, I am so sorry." He gives her another kiss before pinching the vein where her pulse in her neck is.
She goes limp, and he makes her go into a lying position in the backseat before kissing her forehead softly.
He faces forward and rests his head on the steering wheel. "Remind me to castrate Troy later." He grunted.
"Get in line." I snort.
He raises his head and gives me a sad grin.
"Don't worry; she will partially remember part of tonight, Hopefully," I say that last part quietly.
I spot a movement in my peripheral and see a bunch of large-looking men clad in black suits; marching out of the company.
"Seems like Kendall beat us to it," Danny says as we observe the members of the Spanish mafia walk out of the company.
Jordan comes out of the building and makes his way to the array of black cars parked at the side of the building. With the rest of the mafia, they get in and drive off.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Danny questions as we walk towards the building after locking the car doors.
"If anything, I hope the burglar who tries to rob that car with Charlie in it; lives long enough to tell his children the story. If there is one thing I know about that girl, we both waste no time in teaching men how to treat a lady."
"Yea, that's true." He says with a wistful smile on his face.
"Don't worry, Danny," I pat his back as we approached the front door of the building, "There will come a day when I will personally have to clean you up for her."
"And to think you were going to compliment me." He grumbles as we finally step into the building.
Apart from the little moaning from the top floor, the place is dead silent. Danny and I take the elevator and walk into a sight that I wish that that burglar was me.
"Wanna join in?" Joey grins at us as the girl in front of him on her knees straightens up and leaves.
"As much as I aspire to be an asshole when I grow up, it will have to wait," I reply sweetly and take a seat at my stepfather's desk.
Danny follows suit after recovering from the shock we earlier experienced.
Joey quickly zips up his trousers and sits in his big chair in front of us. He quickly schools his face into a neutral expression, but little does he know it takes more than one shark to rule the ocean.
"So cut to the chase, what do you want?" He directed at me whilst ignoring his son.
"I can't stop by to pay my favourite parent a visit?" I quirk a brow, silently daring him to question it.
"See, this is why I do nothing that concerns you, kids." He rubs his temples.
I roll my eyes, "Funny speaking of a kid, who's your favourite among us three?"
"None of you could meet my standards, no offence, son." He says and throws a sober grin at Danny.
"No offence, father. I only consider you like the baboon that raised me." Danny does nothing but smirk.
I tap my chin, pretending to think, "I always thought your standards remained in the lost cause of my father dearest."
Joey grits his teeth, clearly annoyed with my comment, "If you came here to insult me, I suggest you leave."
"Step-father, If I were to spoil your name, I would gladly allow the press that has a campsite at the estate to know of your dealings with the street gangs around town and least I forget the molestation that all your workers put up with you, just cause you don't know which team to swing for."
One thing you should know about making crucial deals is to know the right buttons to push. I always knew that Joey had some similarities with Lucifer; so like the curious cat I was. I did my research.
Apart from the crimes I mentioned, the press would gladly eat up. There is more than, what this guy has done that would land him in prison, but I'll save it for later when I need another favour from him.
"So this is about your sister? I knew the Don couldn't keep his mouth shut even if you gave him a reason to run for his money." He said with an underlying message, which didn't take me too long to figure out.
"I'll assume not all idiots flock together. I want the truth, Joey. I want to know who slept with Lola and why?" I glared at the man in front of me.
"It would surprise you that there were quite a few." He replied smugly. "I never thought that formula would have worked. If not for your sister being our test dummy."
"Sorry, I don't speak Idiotic, be more descriptive." I give him a sour look.
"Jordan needed a drug that would make girls wild in bed and would knock them out. Thereby making the sex enjoyable, and the girl is left with a foggy memory. A win if you ask me, I'm wondering why I never thought of it before."
"So we have discovered that you, Jordan and his buddies are horny children. Where did Lola come into this?"
"She accidentally drank it one night when it was still in the testing stage, and I just happened to be home alone with her. She sure did justice, and I just couldn't help myself. Jordan was ready to rat me out that day he saw us in the cake store two weeks before Troy and I's marriage were it not for him joining me."
I refuse to allow the bile in my throat to come out just yet, "So whose child was it then?"
"Sweet, innocent and charming Peyton, That child belonged to your dear old Dad."
