Chapter 10 - Arrival II

The girl got up, letting him rest his back against the thin wall. She filled water from a wooden bucket and gave it to him, pushing the young man's sweater aside to get a better look of his wound. He pushed her, smiling.

"That's a really nice backyard" he said, while he observed the perfectly landscaped grass and the close cut trees. The girl smiled.

"Yeah, that's were I live, so...". The young man turned bewildered towards her, and she continued calmly:

"Eugene-san left me with certain instructions on how to conclude my training in case he was gone. I'm supposed to stay here and complete certain tasks, while I wait for someone to arrive. That someone is you apparently. Oh, that's right, I forgot...I'm Aya Satoi."

"I'm Katsuo. Zen Katsuo, very nice to meet you." the boy answered slowly, whilst emphasizing the hit on his side. The girl smiled once again:

"I'm so sorry I hurt you. Well I gotta make it up to you. Would you like some tea?"

"Sure."

Aya got up and walked until she reached a wooden awning that sheltered some pots and pans underneath it. She chose a tin teapot and placed it over a small fire, burning nearby.

"Is there anything special you would like me to put in? I have...ehm...probably sugar. Eugene-san may have left some milk inside..." Katsuo answered smiling, to hide his anxiety:

"Ehm, no, no. That's okay."

"Well, that's better" said the girl and removed the teapot from the fire using only her hands "Plain tea is my spec...". Her face had turned red from the discomfort and her eyes where almost shut.

"Kyaaaaaaaaaah~" she screamed throwing the pot and shaking her red hands in the air "Burns, burns, buuuurns!". As she jumped around, one end of her dress caught on fire. The girl, when she realized what had happened, entered a state of an even bigger hysteria.

A lood noise sounded accompanying the quenching of the fire. The girl was wet from tip to toe. In front of her was Katsuo, breathing heavilly with the wooden bucket empty in his hands and an expression that looked as if he was walking on a tightrope. Aya was looking down and the long wet hair were hiding her face.

"Are you all right?"

"Yes, thank you very much."
