RC here, emerging from the writer’s cave for a moment to talk about my new book: Demon World Boba Shop.

When we wrote Deadworld, a large part of what made the world work so well was the chance to explore the relationship between Matt and Lucy. It seemed like what made the story work was 50% Matt + Lucy interactions, 30% shovel fights, and 20% everything else. And as we thought about what we wanted to write next, we began thinking more about a story that was less about fighting and more about just nice things.

So when Dotblue and I managed to get a rare chance to meet in person over iced beverages, and he asked me what I was writing next, I took a look around the shop, slurped up a bit more milk tea, and said, “Something calming. Like maybe a boba shop in a demon world, or something like that.”
