The dense and lush forest stood on top the fertile land. Its vast expanse of trees seemed to house countless creatures.
Each one of their live were delicately intertwined with the rest of the forest's inhabitants. In a unique way the forest existed in a state of perfect balance, untouched and unstained by the hands of mankind.
Yet in this moment the forest seemed to have lost its natural peace and serenity. The animals that dwelt within it were unable to contain the sense of uneasiness. It was a natural instinct that was honed when any creature was raised in the wild.
The instinct was currently resounding in their heads, desperately warning them of the impending danger they faced. Their eyes constantly darted from side to side, trying to locate the source of danger. Besides their own instinct there were other more obvious signs that had manifested.
The gentle breeze that blew ever so slightly causing the leaves in the forest to rustle had stopped. The harmonious chirping of various birds combined with the soothing sound of the running stream had seemed to have vanish as well. Everything appeared to be frozen.
The tense conditions were nibbling at the nerves of the animals like worms.
The next instant a deafening roar echoed throughout the forest, followed by a massive explosion. A huge structure had appeared in the clear sky and in the blink of an eye, crashed in the center of the forest.
It sent destructive shock waves and sharp winds that rapidly spread throughout the forest. Countless animals were instantly decimated and ancient trees uprooted to be flung to the far corners of the earth.
A deep fissure had appeared in the heart of the forest and the structure had penetrated within its dark abyss. The destruction it had left in its wake was devastating , leaving the entire forest in ruins.
But the dust had yet to settle when the ground started to tremble violently. It seemed as if the land would tear itself apart. The entire landscape changed as the earth continuously shifted and up-heaved unto itself. Soon everything that had once existed vanished, buried under the vast earth. Including the fissure.
The once vibrant and lush forest that had stood proudly on the land had been wiped of the face of the earth and replacing it was a desolate and bleak land. In the distance the sound of a sigh tore space and echoed over the barren land.

The hands of time continued to tick as days became weeks and weeks months. The quality of the land continued toppling downwards after the incident with no hope of recovering its former glory. Its vitality declined as if it were being sucked dry.
Once it was a mighty forest but now it was reduced to a barren wasteland. Gradually the effect started to spread to the surrounding areas as well. But underneath the place where the fissure had once opened, in its deepest and darkest recesses another type of change was occurring. The structure that had buried itself in the heart of the forest too had a object in its core.
Eight large pillars stood firm in a circle and outside each pillar, the figure of a mighty warrior could be seen sitting. Their bodies were heavily armed and their hands clutched large weapons. Although their eyes were shut making them seem as if they were in a state of slumber, anyone who ever saw them would instantly feel fear.
Each one of the eight warriors postures suggested that they were ever ready to defend any attack against whatever dwelt behind the pillars. Yet somehow they also seemed to be protecting the world from its attacks.
Within the circle of eight pillars one could see a vague outline of a youth. But on taking a closer look they would receive the shock of a lifetime.
The guards that stood defensively outside the eight pillars instilled a sense of awe and fear, the body that laid within instilled a feeling of pure dread. Its appearance itself was horrifying.
The most obvious feature that one would notice first on talking a closer look was the massive wound that teared through his chest. It had on the right side of his neck, splitting his collar bone and then proceeding to divide the front part of his chest into two. You could see the broken rib cage as well the mangled organs that lay within.
His heart was also cleanly split into two halves.
Half of his face was burnt into two, distorting his features into horrifying proportions and exposing the white colored skull beneath. This made him seem as if he was the grim reaper. Yet all this combined was still not the most terrifying fact about him. What truly sent chills up your spine was the fact that despite all that, he still seemed to be alive as a dark light shimmered around him ever so slightly.
A year passed, two years, three, four, ten years. The world kept spinning and the people lived on their lives. In fifty years, what vitality that was left in the land above was finally depleted and it became a full fledged desert.
However the structure hidden underground sat there with not a trace of any type of aging. The eight pillars still stood firmly on their spots as did the eight warriors. The only difference that had occurred was to the body that lay silently within.
After fifty years finally the dark light that shimmered over him in a dormant state started to move.Slowly and steadily it moved and gathered over the massive wound that ripped his chest. Unconcerned of the fact that the movement had taken another fifty years.
The flow of time then resumed. After another hundred years the heart that was cleanly slip into two seemed to have shockingly moved closer albeit by an inch.
Five hundred years later the the two halves of the heart came together and merged as once.
A thousand years later, after a slight tremble the dormant heart started to beat once more!
