A whole day had already passed and Jonathan was within his tent. He checked his stats once more to confirm them before he decided on what he would do next.

His stats had grown quite a bit from where they had been the last time he checked them. But now Jonathan was stuck. He only managed to defeat the Iron Fang Dogs because of the gun and a bit of luck. His only option was to wait for most of the plants to evolve and start harvesting them to level up and get better stats.
Another hour passed and Jonathan could not wait any longer. He exited the tent and went deeper into the woods he had barricaded himself in.
He was looking for something. Any signs of evolution would be enough for him. "I need to get stronger, quicker!" He thought.
Several minutes of searching passed and one plant started to show signs of movement. It glowed a light green color. Soon many other plants and trees showed the same reaction.
It was time! Jonathan brought out the two knives he had and began cutting down the plants one by one. Everything died. Soon the floor was littered with smaller versions of the stones the Iron Fang Dogs had dropped.
After he became tired of all the cutting Jonathan picked up several of them and instead of using them he tried something else, "Store."
Instantly a robotic voice along with a screen appeared in front of him:

It worked exactly as Jonathan expected it to work. All of the pearls were stored in his inventory and now he could use them much easier and at whatever time he wanted.
He started by getting out 10 Status Pearls and used them all:

Although these numbers were small Jonathan was mesmerized by the sight. He unlocked a hidden stat and got 1% added to his magic stat!
This was a great outcome for him. Once again Jonathan checked his stats to see the change.

As soon as he did so Jonathan began to feel the changes within his body. He felt the strength flowing in. His body was adjusting to the power and it felt great to him. Although it wasn't much, it was much higher than what the average human had. And it was coming in so fast.
After a few seconds, the feeling vanished completely and Jonathan brought out ten more pearls. He did this over and over again until he had used up all of the pearls. Checking his stats again Jonathan smirked at the change.

Jonathan was sure he was, as of right now, one of the strongest humans. He also knew that he wouldn't be able to continuously use this method to increase his stats.
As one stats increases in becomes harder to increase it. He the same amount of plants would probably give him much less stats than he had gotten. So he chose to stop.
Despite the increases Jonathan still felt incomplete. He failed to get one of the most essential stats: Perception. He needed to be extra careful until he got that stat. His spirit would be all he had to help himself until then.
He quietly walked back to his tent and ate some food before going back out onto the streets. It was time to test his power. Just as he was about to search for a creature something a notification made him stop dead in his tracks.

Instantly Jonathan felt like tens of thousands of eyes were watching him from a place he could not reach. A mix of fear and anger washed over him. These were God's that had immeasurable power. But at the same time they were the ones who watched the human race get wiped out by the monsters.
He quickly suppressed his emotions and began walking again in hopes of finding another monster. But it wasn't too hard. A large dog growled at him as it slowly closed in on him. It was an Iron Fang Dog.
"Perfect!" Jonathan thought. It was the best target to test his new abilities on. He held the knives in an attacking position and ran for the Dog with incredible speed.
The Iron Fang Dog's speed couldn't compare to Jonathan's. In a moment he was in front of the dog and its claw came crashing down. But it was too slow. Jonathan dodged the attack and aimed for the dogs neck.
He put all his strength into this attack. Instantly the knife reached the dogs neck and it's head was cut off cleanly. Even Jonathan was surprised at this display of power.
He reached a level beyond his expectations. The Iron Fang Dog's body fell to the ground as Jonathan retrieved its pearl.

A monster that could put his life in danger a day earlier was now no chance for him. He was confident in his ability to fight at least 3 of them without losing.
Now all Jonathan could do was wait until the Trial Zone advanced to its next stage. He began his movement. If he worked hard enough he would be able to reach at least 50% in all of his common stats by the end of the first stage of the Trial Zone.
Determined Jonathan began working his hardest by killing monsters and gaining levels as well as stats.
