Arum looked at the outskirt of the forest just few feet in front of her, then she looked back to her father. "My question is pending." She demanded.
"Right," Her father said, and turned his body to face her, "As you can see, I am old. I'll be turn sixty in two months, and while I am not planning on dying any time soon, I don't know what the future hold. I personally wish to live long enough to see you get married, or if I am allowed to be greedy, I wish to live until I can see your children become an adult. But that's just it, a wish." He looked up to the sky and sighed.
"So while I still can walk around on my own, I plan to teach you the rope of harvesting the abundance the forest have. I'll take you inside and show you around, hoping that in the next three weeks or so, you can already familiarize yourself with the most part of the forest. All of its fruit, plants, flowers, roots... and the animals within." Her father elaborated, saying the last part after few seconds of hesitation.
"These... animals, that you mentioned. Are they dangerous?" Arum asked after some deliberation. Her mind tugged a certain keyword, and a translucent interface hovered in front of her face. She glanced to her father, but the man didn't react at all.
"Arum, as the forest gives us many things, you also should expect it to demand something. The forest will gladly lay claim upon an ignorant guest. It will absorb their body to nurture itself, so it can continue to provide. That's why I'll be teaching you all sort of things. Lest you mistaken one leave for another, and unknowingly poisoning your own body. The same goes on which paths should you take, and which one you shouldn't... or what kind of animals should you hunt, and what kind you shouldn't."
Arum walked closer to the outskirt, she crouched down to a unique flower. It looked like a rose, but each of its petal had a shape of a feather. As she brought her face closer to it, a new, smaller window appeared on her interface:

I see... It is just like the game, Arum concluded.
In Enigmatic Eclipse, there was a certain way to know if the area you are about to go was too high-level for the current you. These plants called Featherose was a landmark that would tell you that information. If their flowers were white in color, then the area you are about to step in was filled with enemies whose strength were not too difference than your own. If the flower were blue, than you would find a very hard fight against the enemies ahead.
If the flower were red, then you would know what being overmatched felt like. You can still had a chance to win, it's not impossible, but if you didn't look for a challenge and not willing to spent few hours just to win against overwhelmingly powerful enemy, then it was best to bid your time. But if the flower were black, then you might as well turn back, there was only death ahead.
Good, it means the outer part of the forest is still safe, or 'manageable' is more accurate? Arum thought. She would still have to go through the fighting, and now that game had become reality, she didn't know how bad an actual fight might be. But knowing that she had a good chance to win, and that she wouldn't straight encounter an eldritch entity, made her feel... alright.
"So, can we start now? I can only spare less than half a day to guide and teach you, because I need the rest of day to do my chores. You know, so we can have dinner." Her father called Arum back from her thought.
"... Yes, let's begin." She stood up from her crouch, and turned to her father. As she waited him to go ahead of her so she could safely follow from behind, her father just stood still and stared at her instead.
"Arum, I know I already said it, but truly, I am sorry I-... No, we, can't celebrate your coming of age, and have to give you big responsibility instead." Her father sighed.
"...Yes, and as I already said too, please be patient and put up with me if I unintentionally become difficult or sarcastic. I just need time, Dad. Then everything will back to normal."
Or at leas I hope so
Her father smiled, and his face brightened up a little bit, "Thank you. I know you are a good kid, you have your mother kindness." He praised her, "Still, though, my pride was hurt a little bit. Couldn't afford to give my daughter a present for her once-in-life event. Maybe I am a failure, both as a father and as a Baron of-"
"-Wait a second." Arum cut in.
"Yes?" Her father raised a brow and looked at her
"Our house is a barony?"
