Chapter V: Ty’s Escape
The guards would walk around ensuring none of the prisoners would be hiding weapons or any contraband in their quarters. Ty and Sarah had started to plan their escape inside the hut they had been staying in. It was barely held up by wooden supports and all the walls and the ceiling were cloth. They had lived in it for countless days now.
“SHH… I hear the guards outside! Hide the plans!” Ty exclaimed urgently to Sarah. She quickly tucked the plans into her pockets of her tattered and ripped clothing.
The guards stormed into their sad excuse for a hut. They tossed all the few furniture items across the room for a thorough search. “All clear!” one guard declared. The other guards nodded and all but one left for the next prisoner’s inspection.
“So you’re the court-martialed soldier, eh?” the soldier stared Ty down. Ty glared back at him, his fists tightly clenched. “Yeah? Why do you ask?” Ty scoffed at the soldier.
The soldier simply chuckled and spat at Ty as he left to catch up with his squad. Sarah heaved a sigh of relief and lay the plans back out so they could memorize it.
“Alright, we need a distraction so that the guards on the outer rim of the colosseum will be forced to come in towards the center. Then we can easily sneak past the outer rim to our freedom.” Sarah pointed at the plans they had made on a hand-drawn makeshift map of the Colosseum. It marked where all of the guards were stationed and how the patrol patterns were illustrated.
“How will we make a big enough distraction from inside the Colosseum?” Ty questioned. Sarah frowned in thought. “Well, maybe we can offer freedom to someone else who is able to make a disturbance of the peace in the prison yard?”

They left the protection of their abode and went to where the many prisoners of war congregated as the legion of white armor stood guard; watching over them for any mischief that might ensue.
Lightning struck close by to the Colosseum and shook the ground. Frantically, people ran towards shelter. Sarah and Ty were the only ones left in the center of the Colosseum besides the guards who were ordered to stay at their posts.
It began to rain hard and Ty and Sarah sat under a tarp in the center so they wouldn’t get drenched. Just as they got comfy, someone pulled them in through the sheet-like wall behind their small abode. Hands were fixated tightly over their mouths so they wouldn’t be able to scream.
They turned to see a girl in a long robe with her hood covering her face in the darkness. The girl slowly moved her hands away from their mouths. “Who are you?” Ty asked as he turned to see the cloaked figure.
She removed her cloak to reveal a blonde haired girl with deep blue eyes. She wore a black suit of armor with purple pinstripes and a large jagged blood-soaked hole in the side of the torso armor piece.
“N-no… you died… you were dead how are you here?” Ty stated confused and the girl began to speak “I am Liz, the mage of special forces, and I have unfinished business.” Liz introduced herself and smiled at them both. Her smile hiding grief and anger within.
“First thing’s first I need to get you two out of here. From then on you must find Kaliam. Only he will be able to stop Mason.” She explained to them quickly. Ty and Sarah staring at her dumbfounded. “Our plan was busted by this storm… how will we escape?” Ty questioned Liz a bit frantically.
Liz smiled at him and she unraveled a piece of parchment and set it on a table in the middle of the room. “This is a full map of the castle grounds including this Colosseum. Here is your way out.” She pointed to a mapping of where the old city was. It was buried from the timeless warring. Left to fall apart underneath the new kingdom.
Liz stomped her foot and a sound of a compressed enclosement opening and a hatch opens below them. “This is where you will enter the old world. But be careful there are creatures down there that may be hostile to be on guard, oh and take these!” She hastily gives Sarah a book and weird looking wand device before giving Ty Eli’s broad sword.
“But what about you?” Sarah asked concerned. She stared at Liz as Liz looked out the window with mischief in her eyes “I will give Mason chaos since he wants it so bad!” She said darkly as she left Sarah and Ty to go into the hatch leading to the old world by themselves. They cautiously closed the capsule before hearing screams. The screams did not come from those who were innocent but the men who reigned and beat the innocent; screams from Liz’s doing. Ty and Sarah descended down an endless ladder to the world of old in hopes to find the dark prince.
