Chapter III: Secrets
Allie entered her room to clean the sheets that Kaliam had slept in. She remembered the parchments he had hid under the covers and felt for the papery texture. Her hand lightly grazed over it and she gripped the papers in her hand. “YES!” She yelled in excitement. She took them out and examined them.
She read through the entirety of both parchments before Kaliam entered the room to check on her. “Hey have you seen my-“ he stopped short and stared at her as she held the parchments into her hand.
She stood there her face with no expression showing. Her face twisted in a confused manner as she gripped the parchment till her knuckles were whiter than snow. “Who are these people described on these papers?” her voice a bit shook from what was written on the parchments.
Kaliam tore the parchments from her hand and stuffed them in his pocket. “None of your concern, it’s hard enough having to write a report about them, but to explain why?!” His voice escalated and he grits his teeth, realizing he had begun to scare Allie as she cowardly stepped back frightened. Kal frowned from losing his fragile temper and sat on the bedside.

Allie puffed her cheek out in timid frustration. “Well! I guess we can’t be friends anymore?” She replied with confidence.
His mouth gaped as he attempted to speak but the words just wouldn’t escape his mouth. “What? Cat got your tongue?” She asked and smirked knowing she got him good.
“Well, it wouldn’t be the first time I have lost a friend” Kaliam would finally break the spell of not being able to speak.
Allie sat by him and looked up at him as it was obvious he was a bit taller than she was. She forced Kaliam to look at her. “If you don’t mind my asking? Are those people named on the papers reports of your friends?” Allie asked and stared at him to await an answer.
He sat there silently. Staring back at her but showing no signs of wanting to talk about the subject. She sighed and stood up, walking towards the doorway she stops and looks back to him as she arrived at the door. “If you change your mind I’ll be waiting” she exclaimed softly as she began to leave the room.
Kaliam tapped his foot impatiently. “WAIT…” He shouted a bit loud to get her attention as she just left the room. Her head popped back into the doorway curiously, “yes?” She asked.
He frowns but pats the bedding next to him. “I’m willing to talk about it with you… I trust you”
