11. Everybody loves Jack Sparrow

Nathaniel was eager to test his new ability, and tiki seemed to share his eagerness.

“So how does one conjure a rifle”?

“It’s instinctive, like the instinct that told you what ability it is.” Tiki said.

“I didn’t learn it through an instinct, I have system messages with information about my new abilities.”

“That’s sounds helpful.” Jenifery said surprised. “But try to feel your ability. Concentrate and try to find an instinct inside of you, like rising your arm or kicking.”

“I knew you would say kicking.” Tiki told to Jenifery.

“I just think that its good thing to have ability that involve kicking.” Jenifery answered defensively.

Nathaniel tried to concentrate. He closed his eyes, open them and closed them again. He raised his arms. He closed his fist on a magazine. He opened his eyes wide as an ocean.

In his hand was a fucking AR magazine. He looked at it for a long moment, then he smiled.

Jenifery and Tiki watched him curiously.

“I imagined it a lot bigger.” Tiki said skeptically.

“that’s not the weapon.” Nathaniel explained. “it’s the… quiver.”

“What kind of arrows can you put in this small thing?” Jenifery asked.

“Small once of cores.” Nathaniel smiled. “But also, deadly.”

“Let’s see the actual weapon.” Tiki said.

Now with more understanding of the instinct, Nathaniel concentrated again.

It took him two minutes and another magazine. But at the end of two minutes, he stood with a black rifle in his hand.

“it’s a very beautiful weapon.” Tiki said. “But I don’t understand, how is it supposed to shoot? Is the string somehow inside?”

“Yes.” Nathaniel said. “But probably not the string you think of.”

“I’m losing my mind. Soot something, I want to see it.” Tiki complained.

“Ok. What am I shooting at?”

“Shoot at the lake.” Jenifery suggested.

“Ok.” Nathaniel loaded a magazine into the rifle, charged it, and switched the safety to fire.

Nathaniel have never shot a gun in his life, yet, he somehow knew perfectly how to operate his conjured gun.

He raised the rifle, pointed it to the water, and squeezed the trigger.

At first, he thought that he became deaf. He watched as the water slowly calm down, and his hearing was functional again.

“What the fuck was that”? tiki yelled.

“It’s loud as fuck.” Jenifery agreed. “And by the way Nathaniel, I don’t know what is your definition of arow, but this is not an arow.”

“I know.” Nathaniel said. “it’s a bullet.”

“bullet”?

“Yup”

“I think I saw Norvo shooting something that strong.” Tiki said shaking her head.

“Who is Norvo”? Nathaniel asked curiously.

“Norvo is a commander in the continental military.” Jenifery explained. “he’s above level one hundred and fifty. He’s a legend. He fought in the grate war against torpitia, and rumors say that he defeated team of five spell masters alone. And he was only level one hundred and forty two.”

“I don’t think that Nathaniel knows about the grate war with torpitia.” Tiki told Jenifery. “And he probably can’t appreciate enough how hard is to fight against a team of well-trained spell masters.”

“Anyway, he’s a legend.” Jenifery said.

“Yeah. I figured that match.” Nathaniel said with a smile. “You remined me of girls talking about Johnny Depp, when you talk about this Norvo.”

“Is that Johnny Depp a legend in your world”? tiki asked.

“Sure.” Nathaniel said with a smile.

Jenifery looked at him with suspicious look. “Did this Johnny Depp of yours defeat strong enemies?”

“Of cores.” Nathaniel said. “He led the pirates of the Caribbean to victory against the grate British empire.”

“pirates”? Jenifery asked. “Do pirates considered heroes in your world?”

“These pirates do.” Nathaniel laughed.

It’s too easy.

“don’t stop, it’s hilarious.”

Siri was actually laughing hard. And Nathaniel decided to go on with it.

“I can’t imagine why would anyone love pirates.” Tiki said.

“Clearly you’ve never met captain jack sparrow.” Nathaniel said. “he’s a very good pirate. Everyone loves him… well… except Amber Heard of cores.”

“Your world sounds very strange.” Jenifery said.

Siri was laughing so hard it sounds like she’s going to die.

“I cannot breathe.”

You don’t need to.

“Except Amber Heard…”

She trailed away laughing.

“Nathaniel”? Jenifery asked. “Is everything alright?”

“Yes. Why?”

“You said some weird things, and then you’ve trailed off.”

“Oh, I was talking to my companion.”

“I forgot that you have a companion.”

“Now, how do I un-conjure it.” Nathaniel asked.

“You just conjured it, why are you so eager to un-conjure it?” Tiki asked.

“I can only conjure two magazines, so I need to un-conjure one to conjure another.”

“Oh, I thought that you have more than one bullet in a magazine, you said that it’s a quiver.” Tiki said. “But I gauss that its impressive shot even for one per magazine.”

“No, I have thirty bullets in every magazine.” Nathaniel explained. “I just want to practice it.”

“You have thirty in this small magazine?” Jenifery asked surprised.

“Yes. It’s a very small bullet.” Nathaniel answered.

“Can you show me one?” Tiki asked. She was very excited about the new powerful weapon.

“Of cores.” Nathaniel took one bullet out of the second magazine and gave it to Tiki.

While she was busy with the bullet, Nathaniel turned to Jenifery. “Now. How do I un-conjure?”

“It’s instinctive.” Jenifery answered. “Try to reabsorb it.”

Nathaniel tried. It took him a while, but eventually he managed to un-conjure the magazine.

“Hey.” Tiki complained when the bullet vanished from her hand.

“Sorry.” Nathaniel said, he ejected a bullet from the gun and gave it to Tiki.

“Thanks.” Ahe said, and Jenifery gave her a flat look. “what”? she complained. “I like powerful stuff.”

Jenifery rolled his eyes, and turned to Nathaniel. “How fast can you shoot bullets?”

“Fast.”

“I think that its better if we take you to our training facility.” Jenifery said. “you’ll meet the rest of the team there.”

“Sounds grate to me.” Nathaniel agreed.

“Tiki.” Jenifery said. “When you finish drooling on the bullet, I’d like to take Nathaniel to the training facility.”

----

Nathaniel looked at the stone wall surrounding the facility. It looked to be the size of a football field, surrounded by six foot tall stone wall.

“Is it for you only?” he asked as they approach.

“Yes.” Jenifery said. “We built it when we came here.”

“So where do the locals train”? Nathaniel asked.

“What locals”? Jenifery asked.

“The local guards, the police, I don’t know, the local defense force.”

“Oh, you mean. Nathaniel. The local defense consists on level zero people.” Jenifery explained. “Advance levels exist only in very rich places, in continental or similar level forces, and the most common, in specialized clans.”

“Okey.” Nathaniel asked. “But why don’t you train in their training facility.”

Jenifery looked at him with amused expression, and Tiki chuckled.

“When you see Tiki and David blasting everything up, you’ll understand.” Jenifery said still smiling.

“Oh, I guess I’ll wait and see.

“Oh, you’ll see.” Tiki said with a chuckle.

“Easy tiger.” Jenifery said, and knocked on the facility door.

A women opened the door. Nathaniel recognized her as the leader of the team, Tolverstov called her bloom.

“Good afternoon Jenifery.” Bloom greeted. “how’s everything went?”

“she’s asking him because she’s afraid that I made problems.” Tiki whispered loudly to Nathaniel.

“Everything went smooth.” Jenifery told bloom while looking pointedly at Tiki. “This is Nathaniel, and he’s not as helpless as we thought, believe me.”

“Nice to meet you, Nathaniel.” Bloom said. “I’m bloom. Let’s talk inside.”
