Chapter 8: Law of the Jungle
I was standing near the village entrance, looking at the place which acted as my hometown. I remember the first day I came here. Now, I am finally going to start my travel around this world.
I saw people coming and going, seemed to see a lot of players spawning in the plaza. The village is really not hidden anymore, ofcourse its thanks to her. I turned around and was about to walk, when I heard a familiar voice call my name, "Kila!!!"
"Whats with that get up? You're not wearing shoes? You look badass though."
I stopped, turning around I saw Balmong running towards me, "It's been a while. Its because of my class, my weapon seems to take the hand and foot equipment slots. Thus, my appearance. "
"Kila are you leaving?" Balmong looked shyly, his ears twitching slightly.
"Yeah buddy, I am starting my journey to see the world."
Balmong looked at me with teary eyes, "Will you come back?"
I rubbed his head, "Ofcourse, this is my hometown. Also, you guys are here."
Balmong suddenly hugged me, "Remember that you can always come back when you're exhausted from you're travels."
A few seconds passed by, "Ahem."
I looked at the sounds direction, there stood Balmong's friends. I smiled at them, making them a bit shy.
"Bro, next time you comeback I will be stronger than you."
Balmong walked backwards, a few steps and he was already at the middle of me and his gang, "Bro, thank you."
He bowed his head and ran towards his friends.
"Guys, see you when I see you." I waved at them and continued to walk. I nearly missed the old coot which stood at the sidelines. He seemed to have taken a liking to me also. I nodded towards his direction making him scowl a bit.
'Still acting like you dont care.' I grinned as I remembered all the things I did in this place.
"Dakila bro!!!!! See you later!!!!" A shouting Balmong caused a few players to look my way. I walked hastily, with memories that I will never forget.
Thus, I started my journey. A journey which I never knew that would change my life for the better.

I have already been traveling for a week. The sights I've seen were really amazing. The game was really like no other, the places were what you would call fantasy like. Yes, other games were also like this but what made them different was the way the creators of [Fate] put much effort into each and every living thing in the game. The flora and fauna were unique in a way that would pique the interest of any person.
After a while, I saw a being which really piqued my interest.
"Is this a Dryad?"
The female figure which seemed to have a wood like appearance was right in front of me. I didnt expect to see something like this as I entered the forest.
I was staring at the being from a far. It has deer horns which is protruding back wards. A bark like skin and what made it standout, was its leafy hair. I mean hair which is made of leaves. Her bosom will make any man glance at her. The being seemed to be taking care of the plants, seeing as it has a watering can made off petals.
I slowly backed away not wanting to disturb the being from what it was doing. Appreciating beautiful things doesnt mean you have to touch or take them. Its like viewing a flower that is really pretty, you dont have to pluck it because its beautiful but you can take a picture instead and also let other people see the beauty of the flower. Take nothing but memories with you.
After a few hours I am staring at a new enemy which seemed strong. A group of gorillas that has four arms.
This beings stood 8 feet tall, they look exactly like the gorillas on earth except for the extra set of arms. This guys were fighting one another. Maybe a show of strength to attract the opposite sex or maybe they just like to have a brawl. I watched for a while, learning their movements.
'You never know, I may have to fight one of this creatures in the future.'
I felt something tugging me. I slowly turned my head, not expecting what caused the tugging. It was a baby stage 4 armed gorilla. It had a scar on its right eye, extending to its jaw. It seemed to be interested in me as it touched my tail, ears and mask.
"Hello there." I let out. I felt stupid knowing that a monster in game would not understand me. But heck, I was wrong.
The baby gorilla started beating its chest as if its a greeting. The gorilla let out a small grunt. And out of no where offered me a fruit of some sort. The fruit looked like an orange but with a mix of yellow and red. It seems to want me to take it.
I held out my right hand and the gorilla dropped the fruit. Which to my surprise was not even a fruit to begin with. It was a bug. A bug that turns to a circular thing when threatened. The bug tried to crawl out of my hand but the baby gorilla instantly took it and munched on it. A bite and half of the bug was gone, it stopped and looked at me.
'Dont tell me.'
Yes, if you have the same thoughts as me. It offered the half eaten bug to me.
'Nope, not me little fellow. I wont eat that thing.'
The little gorilla kept on insisting. I was quite baffled at the gorilla. Taking the bug, I slowly held it moving towards my mouth. I smiled in my head, as a thought came to my head. I can put the half eaten bug in my inventory.
The bug vanished as if I ate it, making the little gorilla jump for joy. I took out some bread and offered it to the gorilla which it instantly took and ate. A few more minutes I walked away heading to nowhere, just letting the wind push me to any direction.

After an interesting meeting with a four armed gorilla, I continued to walk deeper in the forest, until a roar made me stop. The forest seemed unsettled, roar after roar, the forest dwellers were now flying or running away from where I was previously.
I looked back to where the sound came from, it was from the gorillas lair. I ran towards them and after some time I stumbled upon a scene that is like out of the movies.
A war. A war with three species fighting.
Four armed gorillas, long haired tigers and dire wolves.
Ding!
You witnessed the war of the three powers in the forest. You can join in the war and whatever side you help, you will be given a reward.
Note: You will receive animosity from the losing sides. Sub species of the races will also act violently against you.
Will you accept the quest? Yes / No?
"No."
I ran towards the battlefield, I didnt want to receive animosity from any of the races here. Also, any kind of sub specie will act violently against me which is not good. Im also just starting my journey.
I have one goal, to save the little gorilla which I met earlier. The strength of this monsters are also not to be trifled with. They are not for low level players to fight.
I couldn't find the gorilla, suddenly I was thrown back by a force. I saw a dire wolf rushing towards me.
'What the?! My hp has lost 1/4 with that attack. Wait thats a surprise attack.'
I quickly stood up and was getting ready to fight. When suddenly, the dire wolf was attacked. A long haired tiger was brutally biting the dire wolf. Then a four armed gorilla jumped towards them causing the tiger to back away. The dire wolf couldn't stand up from the damage it received.
'Chance.'
I quickly escaped from the fray and continued my search for the baby gorilla.
It felt odd seeing three species fighting each other. It maybe the rule of the jungle- the weak are eaten by the strong - but this was too much. This waring monsters were going all out, not even the young ones survived.
After dodging or mostly running away from one monster after another, I finally saw the little gorilla. I was about to ran towards him, but unexpected things happen. A long haired tiger swept the little gorilla and with one snap of its jaws the little guy died on the spot.
I instantly attacked the tiger. My body shouted revenge. I aimed at the tigers blind spots. Not caring of the damage being dealt to me.
"Die!!!!!"
Letting out a war cry, I moved hastily with all my strength. All my skills being used to silence the tiger. The onslaught of attacks finally made the enemy face its death.
Ding!
You have leveled up!
You have leveled up!
'Defeating one tiger gave me 2 level ups!'
I stared at the body of the tiger, there was a worm like thing embedded on its neck. Walking closer to it, suddenly a wolf came towards the carcass and pulled it away.
'The weak gets eaten by the strong!' A thought that came to my mind.
I hurriedly picked up the little gorillas body, "If only I was faster."
Quickly escaping from the battlefield, I searched for a good place to bury the gorilla. Finding a big tree which shaded a small hill, I dug deep and placed my little friend in it.
Standing up, the roars have been slowly fading now. I looked at towards the battlefield.
"It should be nearing its end."
I gritted my teeth and continued to walk, "I should get stronger."
Not to far away.
A figure was slowly walking away from a hill. A smile plastered on its lips. An eerie atmosphere was coming from him.
"The test is successful."
Talking to itself, the figure laughed as it continued to walk towards the deeper parts of the jungle.

Author here,
I know too much cliffhangers. But its due to me being afflicted with flu.
This chapter should be longer, so sorry for that.
During our travel back home from a family vacation, a lot of us suddenly felt sick as we were heading home. Which I, the unlucky one, had the worst symptoms.
I am really sorry for the short chapter. I would have written a longer one but due to being pestered by my cousins of not joining in on the fun during our vacation, the outcome was a short one.
I am sorry for the delay.
Anyways please like, rate, share, comment.
P.s
I always check first if people have written comments on my fanfics. It keeps me motivated. If few comments have been posted, thats when procrastination hits me which is another reason why the updates are slow.
Also I read all your comments and I sometimes write my response to those comments. Sorry if I dont respond to all of you.
Check my other fanfic if its not a bother.
I Am Legend
really sorry guys..
