Chapter one: Bear in the forest.

Chapter one: Bear in the forest.

The forest never seemed to quiet down, yet no creature could be seen.

“I know you want to say ‘I told you so’. But nothing is set it in stone.”

‘I feel like Bo is blaming me for everything.’

“Just keep walking, we can’t live on dew and grass.”

‘Bo is definitely mad, but it wasn’t really my fault we’re in this mess. Was it?’

“Bo I’ve be-.”

“Stop talking! We have to conserve our energy.”

‘Definitely mad, I’ll wait for him to calm down.’

“Lets go this way.”

“Okay. I’m going to fiddle with the thing.”

“Just don’t fall behind.”

“Alright.”

‘Better check everything again, see if I missed something.’

Lore:

Origin:\/

You have been selected at random from a pool of trillion trillions. This means you are special.

‘How special?’ I bet these words are rolling through your primitive mind. Ah, to be so naive again.

You are special because you are numbered 277,232,917-1. This number is actually more significant than you.

The great numbers significance aside, it is the number assigned to you and our random number generator selected it. Don’t you feel special?

The landing ground:\/

Welcome to the great and vast continent Drea. Drea means small. Of course it is only small when you compare it to the other larger continents.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

If you compare Drea to your home world, even four of your planet wouldn’t cover it in its entirety.

Not only are you placed in Drea but you are in the Krea region, sometimes called Dreakrea but only by those that live outside of Krea.

Looking even closer, you have been brought to the country Te. Te is not well known but many great heroes have had their humble beginnings there.

In short, you are in Drea Krea Te. Within Te you are in on the outer rim of a forest called Dim woods.

Dim woods:\/

The Dim woods encompasses an area that reaches into four different domains. Each domain controlled by an overlord that answers only to the lord of Te.

The Dim woods is the home of thousands of creatures. It is said that an ancient treasure is buried within it its depths, and the beast feed of the energy it gives.

The depths of Dim wood are considered a forbidden zone by the inhabitants of the country Te.

‘Nothing new. And we are still lost’

“How much further, Bo?”

“I told you, Na, I don’t know.”

“But bears live in the forest!”

“And I’ve always lived with you.”

‘That’s right. Bo has always been with me, ever since I can remember.’

“Okay, Bo, I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry, Na.”

‘Only Bo stays with me after all. Only Bo cares about me.’

“Owh!”

“What is it!? Na?”

“I scratched myself on the bush.”

“San Na Litly is one of millions to be dragged from their home planets and thrown rather haphazardly into a new exotic environment.”

“There it is again, can you hear it Bo? The voice.”

“Don’t be crazy Na, there is no voice.”

“I’m sure I can hear it! And I’m not crazy! You know I’m not crazy!”

‘It was really clear this time.’

“Make sure to tell me if you hear any voice, Bo.”

‘I guess that gruff was a yes.’

“An outsider would raise an eyebrow at this engagement as the only thing accompanying this spritely woman is an animated puppet.”

“Bo’s not a puppet!”

“Her wailing hands hold a small toy bear. The bear is covered in a fading brown and every other limb has been restitched.”

“Little Bo is not a toy bear! You’re a toy bear!”

“Don’t be so loud Na!”

“But that voice called you a puppet. And it said little Bo is just a toy”

“I told you there is no voice. It’s all in your head!”

“While the forest region seemed to be in perpetual darkness it, at certain times during the day, light manages to pierce its way through the thick canopy.

San Na Litly has only spent a short furor in the forest. A furor would be equivalent to about three hours for San Na.”

“Are you sure you can’t hear anything, Bo?”

“The light piercing through allows San Na to see far enough to gain some clues as to how to find the exit to the forest.”

“I can’t see anything.”

“It is not unexpected that miss San doesn’t know how to read the forest environment. But this world isn’t so simple as to leave her to her own devices.”

On the outer edges of Dim woods there is an abundance of a pale green grass with fading yellow at its base.

Anyone that lives near or has ventured into the Dim woods knows this. It can even be considered common knowledge not worth mentioning.

“Look for pale green grass with yellow at its base, Bo.”

“Don’t be stupid.”

“Your stupid! All bears are stupid!”

“There is pale green grass everywhere, Na.”

‘There is?’

“But. All I see is dark blue grass.”

“It’s just dark here.”

‘Am I stupid?’

“San Na Litly pulls up a grass stalk by its stem and moves it into a ray of light with the intention of inspecting closer.”

“You don’t know what I’m doing. Maybe I’m just picking up some grass for later.”

“We have to continue, Na, who knows what will happen if we stay out here during the night.”

‘Why is everyone a bastard.’

“After sneakily pocketing the tuft of grass, miss San Na Litly picks up speed and follows her puppet, their direction leading straight out of the forest.

The puppets awkward movements reveal the user’s capabilities.”

‘Ignore the voices Sanalil, ignore it Sanalil, ignore it.’

“As the edge of the forest becomes clearer the more light shines through. And soon, miss San Na Litly takes her first step out of the Dim woods. One of over three hundred similarly named woods.”

“We’re out! We did it Bo!”

“Great job Na, you were a real hero in there. I know you were scared.”

‘How does he always know?’

South-western domain:\/

The south-western domain is ruled by the Sedern, Weten and Sowerth. Each possessing a main resources and several lesser resources.

Of the three rulers, it is the Sowerth that borders the Dim woods. Due to the large border over ten cities are placed along it.

Between the larger cities and towns, villages are spread sporadically. They are closer to guard outposts and will quickly disperse if the designated guards leave, even if their population reaches the thousands.

“Which way should we go Bo?”

‘What’s Bo looking at?’

“Can you see anything Bo? Lift me up.”

“The conjured puppet has grasped the spritely San Na Litly and hoisted her into air.”

“Over there Bo! I think I can see rooftops.”

“It is not strange that buildings can be seen on the horizon as the importance of the Dim woods as a border has been made clear in the history of Te.

Throughout the years many wars have begun by the enemy army taking a domain by surprise due to the great cover of the Dim woods.

Including enemy armies, there have been multiple beast tides that have left the land in temporary ruin, killing hundred of thousands directly and millions indirectly.”

“You heard it this time, Right Bo?”

‘Why am I hearing these things.’

“Its okay Na. Even if you begin seeing dragons and unicorns, I’ll stay with it.”

“Your the only one I can trust Bo, everyone else just calls me crazy.”

‘Bo also calls me crazy. I’m not crazy, right? Right! Sanalil isn’t crazy!’

“From an outsider's perspective, this one sided conversation between a young woman and her puppet might cause quite a few questions.

It is however explained away quickly as summoners are known for their less than normal behaviour, to the point that they even overshadow the other people with powerful abilities.”

“Can you hear my voice?”

“Sitting on the shoulders of her conjured puppet, San Na Litly travels quickly in the open fields. The Puppet’s large stature allow it to travel fast, and is only faulted by its stiff movements.”

“It won’t talk to me, Bo.”

“Don’t talk to the voices in your head Na, you remember how everyone treated you back home?”

“Okay, Bo.”

‘I will only listen to Bo.’

“Within a few minutes the Puppet named Bo has begun to find its stride, proving it is capable of improving. the puppet itself has capacity of improvement that is independent from its master.”

“I don’t like it when it talks about you, Bo.”

“We’ve never let anyone come between us before, have we?”

“No.”

“And nothing ever will. Right?”

“Right.”

“Good.”

“The bright sky has already passed its highest point, its rays shower down on San Na Litly and her towering summoned companion.”

“Bo.”

“Mm?”

“Do you miss home?”

“My home is where you are, Na.”

“...”

‘I think I miss mom and dad.’

“Don’t get lost in your head, Na.”

“Don’t worry, I won’t Bo.”

“The small village has already come into sight. People can be seen walking on the rough roads molded by the people who walk them everyday.”

‘Should I call out to them?’

“What should we do, Bo?”

“You’re the leader.”

“We’re both the leader.”

“You’re better with people. You know I can’t talk to them.”

“I’ll do the talking, no problem. I can do it.”

‘I can right? Time to step up Sanalil!’
