Chapter 8

Even though Yuta felt the gaze on his back, he had another thing on his mind. Yuta had purposely not told Tsunade about this competition because all the kids' parents would be there to watch them. And it must be remembered, that a great battle was happening right now outside Konoha. Jiraya and Orochimaru were already commanding the battlefield from two different fronts, but Tsunade-sama, known as the best medical ninja, was locked up at home.

Considering that many Konoha citizens had lost family members in this war, the anger against Tsunade was growing inside their hearts. Conversations like: if Tsunade had been in the war, my husband would have survived, if Tsunade had been in the camp, my brother would not have bled to death from a severed arm, and so on, swirled in every dark alley of Konoha, but no one dared to say it out loud.

Even though the people who lost their families resented Tsunade, they were still able to think. After all, these rumors were not rumors instigated by Danzo, people knew that if not for the hundreds of medical ninjas, Tsunade had trained, the war would have been lost a long time ago. It was a war and people were resentful. Not knowing about Tsunade's phobia of blood made them direct their resentment towards Tsunade.

That's why Yuta didn't invite Tsunade to today's event. He didn't want her to come there and be upset by the words of a few disrespectful villagers. Unfortunately, Yuta hadn't taken Shizune into account.

"I need you to take care of some paperwork for me after the competition, Tsunade-sama."

Tsunade watched Yuta continue cooking as if he hadn't noticed her and muttered something about being a coward. "What kind of competition is this?"

"Ehh! Didn't Yuta tell you? There will be a whole-school tournament today and a special education class will be set up for the highest-ranking students."

Tsunade heard this and frowned, she hadn't expected Sarutabi Hiruzen to be so helpless to find a ninja to send to the battlefield.

"No, Yuta didn't tell me about that. He probably didn't want me to see him getting beaten up by the other kids. Even though he doesn't look like it, he's a very shy boy."

As these words reached Shizune's ears, she heard the sound of teeth grinding together. Turning her head to look at the source of the sound, she saw Yuta sitting at the corner of the dining table holding a frying pan.

Yuta habitually placed a cloth on the table under the pan before placing it on the table.

"Tsunade-sama is right, I am quite shy even though I don't look it. If I let Tsunade watch me fight, I'll probably have to spend the rest of my life dodging the embarrassing love attacks of Tsunade who is a crush on me."

As Shizune looked at Yuta with eyes full of disbelief, Yuta brushed back his hair with one hand and uttered the final words in the strangest tone possible. "Nazenara, warawa ga… utsukushii kara!."

(Because, I'm... beautiful ,after all)

Sarutobi Hiruzen used his telescope technique to look at Shizune and Yuta walking out of Tsunade's house and towards the school. Last night he went home to sleep, but when he went to bed he realized that was never going to happen. His head was full of thoughts about Yuta.

When Sarutobi Biwako realized her husband's condition, she decided to use a ninjutsu that Hiruzen had developed and taught her. When Hiruzen was finally able to fall asleep with the feeling of soft hands gently stroking his back and clearing him of his thoughts, he had only an hour left to return to the Hokage building.

After about an hour of deep sleep, Hiruzen used another special ninjutsu, honoring his reputation as a professor of ninjutsu, and doubled the feeling of rest from that hour of sleep. In fact, as a Hokage, he could easily give himself a day off if he wanted to, but since he could guess that last night's incident had not escaped Danzo's notice, he anticipated that he would have to meet him in his office today.

Hiruzen sat back and sighed at the thought of Danzo barging into his room at any moment. Just then, as luck would have it, Danzo opened the door sharply and walked in.

Hiruzen slowly put the glass orb he used for his telescope technique back in its drawer without fear of being seen and looked at Danzo. "Good morning to you too, Danzo."

Danzo turned to face Hiruzen as if he had not heard what he had said, and a root ninja entered from behind him, holding a chair, which he placed across the Hokage's desk.

"The news I heard this morning was not good, Sarotabi."

"Keep your nose out of Yuta's business, Danzo, I will not discuss it with you."

Danzo slammed his hand on the table angrily, saying that this had to be talked about. "It was a lie, Hiruzen, that he was injured by a ninja eagle last month. The same day he was injured, one of my ninjas on guard duty disappeared."

Sarutobi laughed inwardly at his words, knowing that root ninjas would never do anything useful like standing guard around the village, but his face was still as hard as concrete.

"He definitely caught one of my ninjas leaking information from the village and eliminated him to cover up his crime. We can't let that boy get any closer to Tsunade!"

Hiruzen thought for a moment and then guessed as to why Danzo was so interested in this. He had probably realized that he was supporting Tsunade as the next Hokage and that Tsunade's phobia of blood might be healed by this boy, so he had turned the knife on him.

If Yuta had known that the Hokage had become more enthusiastic about supporting him because of Danzo, he would not have hesitated to thank him when he met Danzo.

Hiruzen told Danzo that he had to go to the academy as the headmaster of the ninja academy and left the room. Danzo was furious that he was not taking him seriously, but there was nothing he could do. He had already tried to assassinate Hiruzene before, but he had failed.

At this moment a root ninja appeared next to Danzo. "Master Danzo, the report on the boy you told us about is complete. The root ninja in charge of investigating him said that he didn't get intimate with the other children, but he saw Hatake Sakumo secretly looking at his child a few times. There may be a secret relationship between him and the boy named Kakashi."

Danzo looked at the ninja, a member of the Nara clan, closed his eyes for a moment, then stood up and walked out of the room. "As an assistant to the Hokage, I should be at the event at the ninja academy. Those children are the future of Konoha."

Shizune forced herself not to laugh as she looked at the bump on Yuta's head as he walked one step ahead.

All she had heard about Yuta at school was that he was lazy and awkward. But when she met him at Tsunade's house, she saw that he was quite funny.

As Shizune wondered why people described Yuta as strange, she noticed that Yuta's steps were getting slower and slower.

When she was level with Yuta, who had been walking ahead until a moment ago, she heard him cursing the sun. Shizune could now understand a little why the other children called him strange.

Yuta and Shizune continued to walk to school, and after a while, the process of walking turned into Yuta walking with Shinuze's help, and eventually Shizune carrying Yuta.

On a normal day, Yuta would walk to school, shielding himself from the sun as much as possible, but on this day, with Shizune by his side, he couldn't walk any farther for more shade and ended up in the situation he is in now.

Meanwhile, Morino Ibiki, who had gone out into the garden to enjoy the sunny winter morning with a cup of hot coffee in her hand, sat on a tree and watched the excited students entering the school gates. Each student was burning their heart with the dream of winning today's competition and becoming a great ninja in the future.

Of course, knowing the truth, Ibiki realized that his coffee no longer tasted as good as it used to. This competition seemed to be fair, but in fact, it was not. Children from ordinary families would start honing their skills at the ninja academy. In contrast, children from the big clans would already have a fighting strength close to that of genin-level ninjas by the time they entered the academy. So the whole competition was nothing more than a way to prevent the rebellion of ordinary families while giving privileges to children from the big clans.

Morino Ibiki could no longer taste the coffee in his hand, so he gulped it down in one gulp and was about to leave for the teacher's office when he noticed two students entering the schoolyard.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

A female student was carrying another male student to school on her back. Seeing that one of his students might have been injured, Ibiki immediately started running in that direction. Any other teacher would probably have done the opposite, an injured student meant trouble and no teacher liked trouble. The fact that a student had been injured in an incident outside the school had nothing to do with them. But for the bald teacher, Morino Ibiki, it was just the opposite; how dare anyone hurt his students?

As the teacher rushed over to them, he got a closer look at who the students were: Shizune, a senior student, was carrying his student, Yuta, on his back, while Yuta was snoring and sleeping.

Ibiki, who knew his student better than anyone else, had already noticed that every time he went out he felt weak like a man with a cold. Of course, he thought it was psychological, and in the unlikely scenario of expulsion, he was planning to give Yuta psychological treatment with the help of special ninjutsu.

Picking Yuta up from Shizune, Ibiki took him to the classroom, placed him on his desk, and waited for the other students. As time passed, other students began to enter the classroom, at the same time Yuta woke up from his beauty sleep.

Realizing that he had unknowingly arrived in his classroom, Yuta decided to do something about the fact that in the future he would fall asleep like a bloodless vampire in the sun. Soon after, today's class started.

After listening to the lesson for a while, Yuta realized that this was not the boring -what is a chakra- lesson that was a continuation of the last lesson. The teacher had changed today's lesson topic, which was to be a competition, to something more useful.

After Morino Ibiki wrote the title of the lesson on the blackboard, he turned his back to the writing on the board -How to escape a Gnejutsu-. "So, kids, do any of you know how to break a genjutsu?"

Ibiki first gave the speech right to the boy from the Uchiha clan, thinking that he could give him a good answer.

"Sensei, my Uchiha clan is the best clan in the world when it comes to genjutsu, so I know a lot about genjutsu and..."

The ibiki frowned, interrupting the uchiha brat's boasting. "Get to the point."

"Ahem, breaking a genjutsu is actually quite simple. All you have to do is open your Sharingan when you are under the influence of genjutsu."

"Okay, you can sit down, wrong answer."

While Yuta was appalled by the brat's arrogance, Ibiki brought the next student to his feet. The reason Ibiki had asked this question in the first place was to show his students the difference between them and the children of the great clans. The children of civilian ninjas who were smart enough would probably be able to understand the true purpose of this competition.

This time it was Sarutobi Asuma, son of Sarutobi Hiruzen, standing up. As the son of the Hokage, he was certainly more knowledgeable about the arts of genjutsu than the average student.

"To get rid of genjutsu, sensei, you need pain. If you are in genjutsu you should immediately take out a kunai and stab it into your leg, if you don't stab the kunai into your leg your opponent will not hesitate to use your kunai to rip your head off."

As Asuma was explaining how to escape genjutsu, the other students in the class turned yellow from his extreme expressions and found it scary. Meanwhile, Ibiki raised his hand to cover his face.

Sarutobi Asuma's answer was not wrong, but it was not right either. Using pain to escape genjutsu was too primitive, and only a low-level genjutsu could be defeated with pain. If the genjutsu user was good enough at genjutsu, the feeling of pain would already be part of the genjutsu. The highest level of genjutsu could even directly influence people's decisions or destroy their perception of time.

"Sit down Asuma! This answer is also wrong, don't use this tactic unless it's your last choice, because the chances of it working are too low to be worth it."

"But teacher!"

"Shut up Asuma and read fewer comics."

The teacher looked at the last two people to raise their hands and saw that one of them had the same answer as Asuma because he had put his hand down when he told Asuma that his answer was wrong.

The teacher realized that he could not teach the lesson he wanted to teach the children, so in desperation, he looked at the last person. This time it was a girl, a sweet girl with black hair and bright red eyes. Morino Ibiki knew whose daughter this girl was and her answer was probably the right one, but... This was not the conclusion he wanted to reach.

Meanwhile, Yuta secretly laughed at the other children's answers and decided to be part of the charade himself.

Ibiki Morino was surprised to see his lazy student, who always fell asleep in a corner, raising his hand. It was not at all normal to see him actively participating in class. Nevertheless, Ibiki remembered that this boy belonged to the Senju clan and, hoping for a miracle, gave him the right to speak.

Even the children, who until now had been talking among themselves in hushed voices in the back, fell silent when they saw Yuta standing up to speak. Yuta had a strange hold over the class, but he had done nothing to gain it. Even though Yuta had done nothing, the young boys' instincts were not blinded like an adult's and they could feel deep in their hearts that he was a monster.

Yuta didn't speak after he stood up and sat on the table, propping himself up on one knee. As Ibiki looked at the way he was sitting, he felt another tantrum slowly approaching him.

"If I am under a genjutsu I will attack in every direction with the most destructive jutsu I know. If the user of the genjutsu dies, the genjutsu will be automatically broken."

Kakashi covered his face in embarrassment and pretended not to recognize his seatmate, while Sarutobi Asuma laughed openly.

"If you get under a genjutsu, using ninjutsu won't be so easy, Yuta. Also, if you have teammates around you, your attack will affect them as well."

Yuta bowed his head a little, letting his hair hang down the sides of his head, and said, "A necessary sacrifice," in a voice that chilled the whole class. Sensing the seriousness in his words, the children forgot to laugh even at the answer he had just given.

Kakashi slowly walked away to the corner of his seat, looking through Yuta's hair into his sad-looking black eyes. Asuma stopped laughing at his words, swallowed hard, and decided to stay away from this madman in the future.

Ibiki picked up a book from the lectern where he had been lecturing as if nothing had happened, and he rolled it up hard.

Yuta felt the chakra that Ibiki had placed under his feet, sensed what was coming, and jumped off the table saying "I'm just kidding!" but Ibiki had already used his body flicker technique to catch Yuta in mid-air and hit him hard on the head with the book in his hand.

Yuta was on the floor holding his head, saying something like " that place was already hurting" and suffering in pain, while Ibiki was looking at him with widened eyes. He had used the body flicker technique so Yuta couldn't react, but Yuta almost ran away from him, let alone react. When Ibiki realized that this silent student was hiding something, he grinned as if he realized that he had a student who could potentially win him the bonus in today's competition.

"Sensei is smiling scary again."

"I bet he's going to make us clean the school all day again."

"Uh, my goosebumps."

Ibiki heard the children whispering and angrily wiped the smile that rarely appeared on his face.

"Kurenai Yuhi, you tell me about it."

The pretty red-eyed girl immediately stood up and began to speak. "The most basic and guaranteed way to get rid of a genjutsu is to create a strong flow of chakra inside your body, teacher."

"That's right!"

With this answer, Ibiki gave up trying to confront his students from ordinary families with the truth, for today's competition would teach them enough lessons. For some reason, the big clan kids in his class seemed to be a bit stupid in general.

"Listen to me carefully, brats! Genjutsu is created when a ninja controls the chakra flow of a target's cerebral nervous system, thus affecting their five senses. Genjutsu affects all creatures with a prosencephalon structure in their brain. So dogs, cats, and even whales can be subjected to genjutsu, but insects cannot be genjutsu.

There are also many different techniques for performing genjutsu. For example, you can use mist ninjutsu to trap people in a genjutsu. Of course, there are other methods such as eye contact, but that's not my specialty. It is enough if you know this much."
