Conclusion

Conclusion: rewrite it is.

It wasn’t a decision based on the poll, although I would’ve considered even a 3:2 in favor of continuing the story as it is a jarring signal. I expected a lot more people to just unfollow and leave honestly so I’m really thankful for anyone still sticking around despite my blunder.

I know rewrites are difficult for both the readers and the author because many good stories just never recover, partly due to the waning interest as time passes and the author losing motivation.

I’m mostly here to give a little update and ask a few things.

First off, I started the whole thing just two days ago and finished the first 9 chapters already so I think this won’t drag out too long. Some chapters are completely erased, new ones are added and some are remade from the ground up, quite a bit of work. I have a bunch of things to take care of IRL too so I would’ve taken a week-long break this month anyhow but I guess I’ll cannibalize my sleep schedule a bit more and get things done.

Because some changes like the System, Eli’s racial trait and the infos dropped in the prologue are a bit too important I think I’ll release the new version as a separate story and leave this one as it is. There will be many minor and major changes but the characters, main plotline and my style will remain the same. (I hope those are the main chars of my work.)

Love this story? Find the genuine version on the author's preferred platform and support their work!

I’d advise reading through everything again when I finish and upload the chapters but at the same time, I know I can’t force anyone to read a story twice so marking the chapters with important new elements is probably what I’ll do.

The changes to the System won’t be groundbreaking but I want to add my own flair to it and remove part that I find useless. I know something new would be ideal but there are thousands of LitRPG stories out there and making a unique one… I don’t think it’s even possible.

Onto the questions. Should I keep the whacky calendar as it is, or return to the normal Gregorian one? I think it adds a little immersion but at the same time, it complicates things quite a bit. I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Second, wait longer so I can dump everything after the rewrite is finished and continue where we left off or upload things like a machine gun like a week earlier. The latter would mean you can read through the changes at a slower pace and I’d finish the last strokes while the chapters go live. (3 chapies a day probably)

I also wanted to ask about the pacing but I won’t. An important rule of being an author I learned is to be open to the audience’s suggestions without letting them shape the story. You all are here for something if not exactly unique but with a certain personality and, no offense, that’s not in the comment sections after any chapter.

All in all, things are going smoothly, I’m excited and… I need to find a way to communicate other than the comment section or releases like this.

If anyone wants to keep reading the story as it was planned then head over to my Patreon, I’ll slowly make the chapters free like the normal release schedule.

Again, thanks for the suggestions and for sticking around, it means a lot. Oh, and rant to your heart's content I don't take any offense, this is the best chance for your words to have an impact.

Typhon.
