I dash at Laila attacking with one punch after another, but they all miss. I focus shadows on the soul of my feet, making me lighter. I swiftly appear under her and go to uppercut her before she teleports behind me. Hours passed and no progress towards hitting her had been made, but my ability to channel celestial energy has bolstered immensely. I dash at her again, throwing a shadow ball from my hand. As it flies at her, it breaks open into a big spider web-like net. It immediately disappears and reappears in front of me. I tried to dash out of the way, but I was too slow. I fall onto the ground after being caught in my net. I sit there struggling. Laila looks at me while towering over me. “Make the net dissipate without an enchantment,” she says. I focus on this warm spot in the middle of my chest. Where all my energy seems to flow. I absorb the energy in the net into me. I feel slightly better, pulling the energy back in. It’s an overwhelming sense of bliss that crashes over you when you start pulling energy in. The net disappears, but I continue absorbing energy. That blissful feeling only grows stronger. I feel this sharp pain. I open my eyes to see I am on the ground. I look over to see Laila has her foot up, and she kicks me again. “If you absorb too much energy, it will kill you Amon. Do not fall for the false bliss.” Laila says, walking away. I stand up and within a blink, I'm back on the beach. Both Sera and Cassiel are on the ground, sweating and out of breath. I run over to tease them, “What, manipulating some energy too hard?” I feel a grip on my ankle. I look down to see water around my ankle, but I'm not getting wet. I feel a strong pull and the next thing I know I’m being launched into the ocean. “Laila, please! I don’t wanna get soa-” I get cut off by a formation of water in the shape of a small platform. It begins flying back and disappears out from under me, dropping me on the sand, “Woah, Cassiel that was awesome.” I say, in awe. “I could barely do that with a chant, but once I finally figured out energy manipulation without it, it just clicked. I felt like I could do anything.” He says sitting up. “That idiot thought he could part the sea. That's why he was on the ground when you got back. He poured every last drop into in by accident and fell over, unable to move.” Sera says, teasing him. I step over to her and crouch down beside her. She looks at me and says, “Can I help you?”. I lift my arm and point my finger out slowly, getting closer to her nose. “Amon don't you dare,” Sera says, watching me closely. I flick her nose and she lays there silent. “You also used up all your energy doing something stupid, didn't you?” I ask while poking her cheek repeatedly. “Shut up.” She snarks. “She made a suit of armor out of fire and a fire sword to go with it. It was fine until she kept increasing the size of the sword until she made it too big and fell over.” Cassiel snaps back.
