Chapter 41

----------------------------------------

Adrian and Damien had spent a few months in school. At first, when Kai was nowhere to be found, they had hope that he would come back soon.

Not all wishes come true; this was particularly true in their lives. In a few weeks, they would be allowed to go home. That is, after a test. The two brothers were anxious not because of the test, but because they would be going back home after the test.

“Damien, What are we going to do?” It was evident that Adrian was tense.

“I— I don’t know, I am panicking!” This was the first time Adrian was seeing his brother panic.

“Me too!… Sigh, Father might have our heads for this—Fuck!” Adrian was sure that his younger brother would receive a lighter punishment than he would. But still, a punishment was a punishment.

“You know…” Damien quipped.

“Yes? At this point I would take any idea you’ve got.” Adrian edged closer.

“Well, we could go to his house, it would not take much to find his home.” Damien added.

Shocked, Adrian could only look at his brother with wide eyes. “Are you saying what I think you are saying?”

“Maybe; I would really hate to be punished”

Adrian could not believe his ears. “YOU? You are the one telling me this?”

“Is it too much?” Damien asked.

Shaking his head, “No, not really. I am just shocked that you want us to skip school. Oh, I never thought this day would come.” Adrian was almost moved to tears.

“Brother, you are crying?” Damien was conflicted. He knew his brother was odd, but this was too odd, even for him.

“My Dear brother! You are now a man!” Adrian said as he hugged him. “We move tonight—”

“Wait, what!??”

“Shh… Don’t move let our hug sink in.” Adrian whispered.

Even if Damien struggled, he could still not get out of Adrian’s grip. Adrian was totally stronger than he was. As helpless as he was he decided to just stay and accept his fate.

A few hours later, the brothers had fallen asleep.

“Damien… Hey! It’s time to wake up.” Adrian whispered as he woke Damien up.

That night, fortunately, was a moonless night. Damien had dreaded this moment since earlier today. Damien was still asleep… At least that’s what he feigned. He could not sleep, his heart had been pounding against his chest since earlier today.

“Come on, I know you are not asleep. I can hear your heart beating… Damn, it is like a week per hour in there…Damn!”

“Fuck your great hearing. Alright, I am awake”. Damien said with almost closed eyes.

Damien’s eyes were closed so he didn’t see Adrian’s shocked expression. “Did you just cuss?! This young man you seem to grow too fast. I like it!”

‘I just cussed? FUCK! Did I just cuss again? SHIT— Fuck!!!’ Damien was simply hysterical.

If Adrian could hear his thoughts, he would be rolling on the floor with laughter. “if you are done thinking, you can open your eyes now. Put these on.” Adrian tossed Damien’s black clothes at him.

“You are seriously doing this?” Damien asked as he took the clothes. “Wait, where did you get this?”

Damien recognized the clothes, it was their family assassin garb, the Nyx. They named it after their family-name. It was just a like jumpsuit, but black. It was rather very simply designed.

The material used to make his clothes was simply out of this world, most people didn’t know that such a material existed nor was the knowledge of the lunar worms made public. The material was made from the protective material spun around lunar worms.

Lunar worms were like the gold worms used to make mage uniforms by the Weapon smiths Bureau. The only difference was that the lunar worm was transparent during the day, and was only visible during an occurrence of a blue moon.

The lunar worm was extremely hard to catch as a result of its characteristics, its worth was accrued to that of the bones of a skylark thunder beast. It was so rare that mortals and lower-ranked mages thought it a myth— a legend.

A mage’s attire was made from the silk of gold worms and later dyed to give the final color. The silk threads from the Gold worms were as strong as steel, as flexible as a tree branch and as light as a feather.

Although the silk made from the gold worms seemed really dependable, there was always something better: the silk from lunar worms. The clothing made from the lunar worm’s silk was more resilient, lighter and overall the best type of protective clothing a mage could have.

It was basic knowledge that, although some mages had toned muscles and a strong figure, most mages knew close to nothing of close range or hand-to-hand combat.

The battle between mages was of spell-casting speed and precision, so heavy armor was not really a wise decision for a mage. Not minding the fact that there were monster-mages that had strong hand-to-hand combat experience as well as high-speed spell-casting abilities.

Some mages don’t need to cast a spell to manipulate their affinity elements. One other thing, the garb made from this material was almost impossible to make or find. To make one attire, fifty Lunar silkworms would be drained to death, making the garb Adrian was wearing very valuable.

The outfit Adrian tossed to Damien was made of the same material as the one he was wearing. Damien was shocked because this attire was so valuable that although it was his, he hadn’t worn it once.

Each member of the Nyx Family, as well as other branch families, was assigned one, and only one at the time of their birth. The patriarch was the only one who enjoyed the luxury of having two, one of which he would have to pass down to the next patriarch.

The clothes in Damien’s hands and Adrian’s body were akin to their identity as members of the Nyx family.

“Don’t stress it, the Nyx is just clothes. Besides we need it. Just put it on, it is not as if I stole it or something.” Adrian said with his normal nonchalant smile.

It was true, they needed it. The Nyx helped to amplify their prowess, allowing them the ability to be one with the night, to become shadows if you will.

“Sigh… You say it’s just clothes…” Damien whispered and shook his head in disapproval as he put on the clothes. “I can’t believe that I am going to skip school… Sigh I have really changed.”

“Don’t beat yourself up. This is for the best— hurry up!!” Adrian said as he inspected the route they would be taking…not as if hey needed to do that.

The Nyx made it possible for the wearer to blend with the shadows. Besides the fact that it was night, Adrian and Damien both had the element of night within them. It was just the fancy way of saying that the two of them could blend into the night.

A night mage wearing the Nyx could simply ditch his or her body and move without restriction as though they were in a two-dimensional world. Their entire being, presence and aura would blend into the shadows, there was a disadvantage though.

A night mage could not attack or affect the real world in that form, they were basically none existent in that form.

Although Adrian seemed to be the risk-taker of the two brothers, he was the most careful. He would not do something without being entirely sure of whatever it was. Damien on the other hand was more of a follower, he knew how to accomplish any task as far as instructions were given. He could do anything as long as he was guided properly. Truly the twin brothers were polar opposites.

It didn’t take long for Denzel to be dressed and ready to go. He met up with his brother who was hanging on to their dorm’s open window. “Damien, could you loosen up a little? I am by your side, I would not let you get hurt. I promise.”

Adrian was very serious as he said those words to Damien. The words of assurance worked wonders, Damien no longer fidgeted. He looked at his brother and took a deep breath to calm himself.

“Let us go.” Adrian said as he let himself fall.

Damien took another deep breath and also let himself go. He simply could not turn back now, the moment he put on the Nyx he had no choice in this.

The two brothers seemed to disappear into the moonless night as they let themselves fall into the darkness of the night.

----------------------------------------

Lester still had Maria in his arms when Denzel woke up. He saw this scene before him but it wasn’t the first time he was seeing this.

Denzel simply stayed back in his laying position. Maria was heavy but Lester seemed to love it, her softness, her scent… It simply intoxicated him, and Maria knew of this. Maria like most women loved to to be held, but she noticed that another pair of eyes were feasting on Lester’s property.

“Lester, your brother is awake…” Maria said after she stopped grinding him with her extremely soft and relatively enough body part.

“Oh, is that so?” Lester stood up with Maria still in his arms. “How do you feel?” Lester was standing directly over Denzel.

Although Denzel had his eyes closed he could still feel Lester’s burning gaze. He knew he had no choice but to respond to his brother’s words.

“I am sorry brother, I wanted to inform you but I saw that you were busy,” Denzel emphasized the busy, to make Lester understand.

“…so, I decided to wait until you were done, then I would inform you—”

“That’s not the answer to my question.” Although Lester was a water mage, his eyes burned with such intensity that Denzel’s soul shook.

“Sorry, sorry. I feel better, although I am sore in some parts. It feels like I ran for days.” Denzel explained.

“That’s good, I assume you can walk out of here, I need my privacy.” It was pretty clear what Lester meant by privacy.

Denzel struggled to get up from the water altar. “Ngh… I think I can do it.” Denzel staggered out of the room while using the walls for support.

Lester waited for him to walk out of the room before he looked at Maria deep into her eyes. “You said something about not being able to control myself…”

Maria gulped as the thoughts of what Lester planned to do to her raced through her mind.

“… I can feel my self-control start to slip…ngh… I can’t stop myself any more…ngh…forgive me if I wreak you…” Lester said, feigning struggle.

“You can try~” Maria said with a seductive smile, which She knew worked Lester’s switch.

Those words ignited a fire within Lester.

----------------------------------------

“That Maria is one crazy lady…” Denzel said as he recalled the day they first met… Or so he thought.

That Maria who was Lester’s personal maid had died of old age, at least that was what Maria made everybody think. The Maria that Lester was dating right now was of a weird origin, he never did ever ask where she was from… Or did he? He could not remember any more.

The first day she met with the new Maria, their meeting was rather odd. Lester and Maria were so close to getting it on.

“Sorry… Sorry!” Denzel could never have imagined that his brother was about to receive head during the early afternoon.

“Denzel what are you doing here? We don’t have a training session until tomorrow.” Although Lester’s dragon was out of its den, he wasn’t the least embarrassed.

His signature straight expression and piercing gaze drove into Denzel’s soul. The smug smile that the kneeling woman had was rather scary. It was almost as if she was beckoning him.

“I had questions to ask…” Denzel was simply on edge at this point.

“I Believe that you see that I am busy now. Come to me later…to be safe come tomorrow before our scheduled time, I should be free.” At this point, only a dense man would not understand what Lester meant.

“yes— Yes, I will go now.” Denzel waltzed out of the room, almost tripping on a non-existent object that was placed on the floor.

Denzel was outside of Lester’s door when he heard this. “Hope you are not annoyed with him barging in on us?”

“Not really, I found it hot actually. Let us continue, you haven’t really scratched my itch.” Denzel could imagine her sultry smile as she said those words out loud.

“I promise not to disappoint.”

“Break me~”

Denzel was simply taken aback by Lester’s words, he didn’t know that his cold brother had this part to him. Denzel could not believe that his brother could be this brazen, he always seemed righteously sinister…If that makes sense.
