As though on cue Darcy opened her mouth to scream. “Monster!!, please!!! Help!!!!” Darcy’s throat ached after screaming so much.
Kai’s lips moved to a smile as his eyes were laid on Darcy. “Good now, I will run to the door. Before the guards come, I want you to look scared.”
Kai was about to run towards the door before he was stopped by Darcy. “What will I tell them happened to the couple and us?” Darcy asked as she was confused, and more or less anxious.
Smiling Kai responded, “Tell them a beast came here but before you describe the beast you pass out, makes sense?” Not waiting for Darcy to respond or ask any questions, Kai dashed out towards the door. “Remember to shout…”
‘He is crazy…’ Darcy thought to herself as she saw Kai’s back disappear into the other room. ‘…here goes nothing.’ Darcy thought as she readied herself to scream.
Darcy opened her throat and screamed at the top of her voice. The intensity of her voice was so turbulent, it could only be heard once in a life time. “Monster!!! Somebody—anybody! Help!!” Sometime after Darcy had screamed there was a big bang coming from the bigger room.
—BANG, BANG—
More precisely it was from the big door on which Kai was pounding. ‘Now I wait…’ Kai thought to himself as he stood in front of the door trying his best to look as out of breath as possible.
The wait was not too long as within a few breaths the door was blown open.
—Boom—
A team of guards stormed into the room, their footsteps could have been easily called off as an earthquake.
“What happened to our lady?” A lanky man with a deep scar running through his face from his left eye running through to the left cheek asked. He had a thick killing intent emitting from him, his deep voice was just to boost, although it didn’t fit his figure.
The lanky guard felt weird. ‘Something is definitely off about him. He looks weak…but I feel weary of him,’ The guard’s senses had been sharpened through his huge experience.
The lanky guard was weaker in terms of essence purity compared to that of Darcy, but if they had a duel the lanky guard would win, simply because of his fighting experience.
Still trying to feign catching his breath, Kai replied. “Huff…huff…there was…huff…a… Beast…” Kai’s voice had returned to normal, it even sounded shaken by fear.
The lanky guard who acted as the Head of the guards looked shocked and so did the other guards. “A beast? How is that possible? We did not sense it? What happened to our lady?” the lanky guard asked again.
Kai tried to look as horrified as could. “The…beast…it—”
“Speak up man!!” The lanky man shouted at Kai cutting his words off as he motioned for some guards to march inside the chamber.
Meanwhile, as the now possessed Kai looked at the guards while he answered the lanky guard. “It…attacked…” Kai’s black abyssal eyes glowed a deep lilac color as he looked at the guards in the room.
Single-digit numbers floated above every guard, each with a special color to represent their elements; except the lanky guard in front of Kai’s body, he had a white twelve floating on top of his head.
Within Kai’s body, his soul spoke, ‘Deity what is this that I am seeing?’ Kai was utterly confused at the moment.
‘This is the eye of Horus. It is a skill. Don’t worry you will get a hang of it when you are strong enough.’ The deity answered Kai in a calm tone as if she were talking to a student of hers.
The lanky man looked shocked as Kai finished speaking. “What?!!!” The lanky guard screamed in a voice that sounded so manly and loud that it seemed it did not belong to him.
The lanky guard darted into the room, forgetting Kai who was in front of him. A scary grin grew on Kai’s face. ‘It’s time for my meal… I have not been this excited to eat human flesh in a long time.’
Seeing their commander dart into the chamber the remaining guards followed behind leaving Kai’s kneeling on the ground.
A sinister grin grew on Kai’s face. “This would be fun…so exciting.” He Stood up and walked into the room where the guards were. All that was happening to Kai, he wasn’t in support of it; his body was under the control of that of the deity in his head.
The look on the faces of the guards were one of a kind. The lanky guard looked horrified. The scene looked so baleful. A blood-dyed bed and a headless skeleton on top of it. On the second bed, there lay a mutilated female corpse. ‘It can’t be…’
The lanky guard was in a kind of shock, never did he except that the woman he loved would die like this with her guts exposed.
Darcy was flat on the floor in one corner of the room. ‘Seems she did her part well…too well.’ Kai thought to himself as she walked to see if Darcy was still breathing.
Chuckling loudly, Kai stood up from his crouched position before he burst into an uproar of laughter attracting the attention of the many guards in the room. “HAHAHA…”
Kai looked at them as though they were lambs for slaughter.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you? Have you gone mad? Can’t you see what happened here why are you laughing?!!” The lanky guard asked with some tears in his eyes sometime after Kai had taken his time to laugh.
“it is funny don’t you think?” The deity spoke through Kai in a deep monotone voice.
Confused the lanky guard asked. “What is funny?”
Smiling even more the deity spoke through Kai. “It is funny that you all will help my vessel grow…NOW I welcome you to the afterlife.”
The gauntlet of the gods glowed a menacing red hue as the bloodthirsty aura from Kai skyrocketed. It wasn’t as though the deity needed the gauntlets to use her power, it was just that the after effect of using her powers directly with Kai’s body without an external channel would be disastrous on him. She still needed him for something else.

“!!!” The lanky guard was too shocked to respond, he felt his knees go weak. ‘He… He is strong.’
The deity activated the skill, Manipulate. The guards saw the room go dark as Kai seemed to disappeared from in front of them.
—Slice, Pfft, pfft—
The sound of something slicing through the air was heard, it sounded so eerie that it drove fear deep into the souls of the now-blinded guards. It didn’t take long before the sound of another thing dropping was heard. It sounded heavy. “Fire mages!! Give us light!!” The lanky guard ordered.
Sounds of fire crackling and booming were heard but it still did not make any change not improve their stand in the brawl. The room was still as dark as an abyss. Shocked, the lanky guard shouted to no one in particular. “What is this!?!”
This was bad for them.
The slaughter continued as the tension and panic in the lanky guard grew. Every now and then from a random position a scream would be heard then soon after the sound of a head falling onto the hardwood floor would be heard. With all this panic and tension the lanky guard’s thinking was all pushed up in fear, but his years of fighting reflexes appeared to kick in at the last moments.
The lanky guard tried to draft his way out of the room. He was so close when the room became dead silent. He knew something was up, his last underling had been killed. But the taste of sweet escape was already at the tip of his tongue, he could almost taste it…he had to taste it.
Once his foot was outside the room his eyes became clear letting him see. It appeared to be that whatever was making them go blind was only potent in the room where he had just escaped from. ‘I will take revenge one day,’ He thought as he ran out of the room. Upon getting close to the door he froze out of shock and fear of what was in front of him.
Kai was at the door smiling cheerfully then the deity spoke through him, “How could you just leave unannounced? That breaks my heart…” Kai walked under the control of the deity as slowly as possible while talking.
The expression on Kai’s face was one of a host seeing and invited guest leave his party unannounced.
“I love to be honest, I killed your lady and her lover. I see that you loved her, right? I saw it in your eyes the way you looked at her corpse… I can see that you hate being powerless, please let me end your misery.” At that moment that Kai became a blur.
The lanky guard searched around to see where he would come from. After some time the guard saw the ceiling without looking up. Then he heard the voice he hated so much.
“I wished to make you my subordinate…but I changed my mind,” Kai let the head fall out of his hand onto the ground. “Such a waste.” A drop of tear trickled down Kai’s left cheek.
Kai under the deity’s control walked into the room where Darcy was still unconscious. “Well, this makes things easier for me.” The next moment Darcy was carried by Kai to their room. “She can’t sleep here tonight.”
----------------------------------------
It was already late at night when all things were finished. Not even a single lantern was lit. This was good for the deity controlling Kai. They found their way into the school and Kai laid Darcy on her bed in her chamber. Then found his way to the quarters of the official Samantha.
The view of the official was unexpected. “She is…beautiful.” Of course not to compare to Chelsea, but Samantha was a beautiful dark-skinned girl, tall and plump in all the right places. The view of her lying on her bed was pleasing.
“Mmhmhh…” The official moaned in her sleep before waking up, as though on cue. “Is anybody there?” She asked, to no one in particular.
Samantha looked around in her moonlit room. “M mm…?” She saw a black bag with a note by the side that read.
I have kept my promise, Meet me in the death ring. I have something to tell you.
The moment Samantha read the letter, her formally sleepy countenance had an 180-degree change.
Samantha gasped as she saw what the bag contained. Tears trickled down her cheeks as she looked at the contents of the bag.
The look of horror on master Nelson’s face was one thing that gave Samantha joy. She could not care less about Lady Belisha, but the fact that he put it there was something Samantha saw as being sympathetic and heroic.
Some time later Samantha was dressed up and ready to walk to the death ring.
----------------------------------------
After the deity dropped the bag of heads in Samantha’s chamber. She controlled Kai’s body to wash himself, before going to the death ring.
—tap tap—
After a few long moments, Kai’s controlled body walked leisurely into the death ring. Samantha was waiting for Kai to arrive.
As Kai entered the death ring because the gauntlets of the gods were still in attack mode, Kai’s aura was bursting filling all round corners of the circular dome. When she set sight on him, she fell on her knees in the centre of the dueling area as tears fell from her eyes, happy, joyful tears.
The moonlight made her tears sparkle, highlighting her beautiful face. “Thank you,” that was all that she said to Kai.
Kai’s body stopped walking when he got in front of her. Lifting her the deity spoke through him. “I need your help.”
Samantha looked up to Kai’s face as she looked intently at him waiting to hear what it was that he needed. She was rather shocked that he needed something, but she knew that his favor would not be cheap.
“…I want you to join me.” Kai looked deep into her eyes before he spoke again, “No one will ever hurt those you love any more. I will make sure of that.”
The deity spoke through Kai to Samantha in a voice so melancholy and suggestive that she could only accept his offer. The deity through Kai sounded so suggestive. The passive skill god’s whisper was already in use, making Samantha look at his words as the words of a higher being.
‘He helped me take revenge, Georgia will have rest now. I can only pay his kindness back,’ Samantha thought within herself before she spoke, “I accept…”
Kai’s face brightened up. “Excellent choice…! I see that you don’t have any magic essence… Do you want help with that?”
The words sounded like an explosion in the drums of Samantha’s ears. “Th—that is not possible!”
It was clear that Samantha had tried before, the expression of shock engraved on her face was evidence of that fact. It was as if she was hearing that he could bring her sister back to life—which was impossible.
“Do you want to be a mage?” The deity was pissed off at the way Samantha underestimated her.
Sensing that Kai was pissed, she could not offend her hero any further so she agreed to the deity’s wish. It wasn’t as if there was any harm in trying…right?
“Alright I accept.”
“Open your mouth.” The request was odd but Samantha had to just go with what he said as she begrudgingly opened her mouth. “kneel,” the deity added.
Samantha kneeled directly in front of Kai. ‘I could get used to this view,’ Kai thought to himself within the dark space he found himself floating in.
The deity caused Kai’s body to clench his hands so hard that the gauntlets of the gods pierced through his flesh. Blood trickled down his fist and then to the ground. His bleeding hand was raised above Samantha’s mouth causing a few drops of blood to fall into her mouth.
Throughout all this Samantha really wanted to react but Kai’s aura kept her body from moving. It was simply suffocating for her. Only her eyes could move in a way to express panic and a righteous fear.
Moments after Kai’s blood fell into her mouth. She felt a crawling sensation under her skin, at first it was mild then slowly but surely it escalated leading to a burning feeling all over her.
“Ahh…!” Samantha screamed as she rolled on the floor, it was excruciatingly painful. She felt as though all her pores were being stung by tiny needles causing her utmost pain. Her former beautiful and delicate demeanor vanished as a result of the pain she faced. “…Ahh!!” Her cries filled the death ring.
Suddenly, after a but of incessant screaming, her screams went silent. She was out cold but there was something different about her. There was a trace of magic essence within her.
Smiling the deity spoke through Kai. “This is excellent…” Sometime later Samantha was carried to her chambers and Kai found himself on his bed the next moment.
----------------------------------------
Somewhere beyond the void, where night meets day…
“Syther…” Someone dressed in a golden dress with golden lightning for eyes and seated on one high stone throne, called out. “You have sinned.”
There was a person, a woman kneeling in front of the golden man with her face to the ground. “I am sorry,” the woman spoke softly.
“I forgive you… Do not do it again.” The moment the golden man said that the woman in front of him turned into a cloud of smoke and disappeared.
Speaking to himself with furrowed brows, “It’s just a matter of time before the war comes, you would finally be mine, sigh… It’s really boring to be king.”
