Chapter VI
The whole house is a mess. Izekiel was lying dead face down on the floor while Valerie is nowhere to be seen.
Ophelia immediately rushes to Izekiel and shakes him incessantly.
Izekiel woke up with a face full of annoyance.
Ophelia: “Izekiel! I thought you were dead!!!!” she was relieved.
Izekiel: “Cleary I’m not, but I wish I was.”
Ophelia: “Huh? By the way where’s your sister? Don’t tell me you- ”
Izekiel: “She’s in your room. I put her to sleep in the crib. She’s fine”
Izekiel: “But I’m not.”
Ophelia: “What exactly happened?” She looks concerned.
Izekiel: “You don’t know the things I had to endure mom. She’s not a baby, she’s a fricking demon.”
The horror in his voice made Ophelia curious and worried.
Izekiel: “She cries like 100 times a day. I thought the mission I’ve had were hard but taking care of that demon is much harder. I can’t even get a decent sleep. At this point I’d rather be exterminating demon than having to tolerate that crying ball full of shits and urine.”
Ophelia lets out a laugh while Izekiel was trying his best not to cry.
Izekiel: “This is no laughing matter mom. I’m genuinely struggling here. We need to get rid of her.”
Ophelia continued on laughing.
Ophelia: “Ahahaha, I knew you were terrible at this but I didn’t know you were THAT bad.”
Izekiel: “I’m not terrible, it’s her who’s terrible.”
Ophelia: “AHAHA, I’m sorry, but I can’t help it.” She laughed hysterically.
After a while, she finally calmed down.
Ophelia: “What did you do that makes her cried so much? She’s usually very calm and quiet around me, I’d rather she cried more.”
Izekiel: “The thing is, I don’t know. She literally cries at everything I do. She was definitely doing it on purpose, that little brat.”
Ophelia: “I’m glad you two are finally getting along.” She smiled
Ophelia: “I’m going to see my baby for a bit.” Then she struts off
Izekiel: “Getting along how?” He looks confused, genuinely.
This continued on for a few years. Valerie is about 3 years old now. She can finally speak clearly. And her relationship with her brother did not get any better. They bickered every time they’re within 3 meters of each other. Ophelia was annoyed of it for a while at first but now she’s become accustomed to it.
Izekiel: “You fucking brat! Where the hell did you hide my keys??” He shouted.
Valerie: “How would I know? Search the closet or something.” She replied back in annoyance.
Izekiel: “Mom, do something!”
Ophelia was on the couch sipping on tea and watching TV while ignoring the whole ruckus her children made.
Ophelia: “Izekiel, don’t swear in front of your sister.”
Izekiel: “I have to leave in 5 minutes and that demon won’t give me back my keys!!”
Ophelia gives Valerie a thumb-up with a proud face. Valerie gave Izekiel a smirk. Seeing this his irritation grew.
Izekiel: “Stop encouraging her mom, she’s going to be even more spoiled when she grows up.”

Valerie: “Says you.” She mumbled.
Izekiel: “I heard that. Anyway mom, if I don’t go quickly, people are going to be in danger. So, convince your dear daughter to give me back my keys, won’t you?!”
Ophelia: “But you won’t be back home for a long time again…”
Izekiel: “I’ll try to finish it as soon as possible. Beside don’t you have work too? So, you aren’t going to be home that much either.”
Ophelia: “Fineee. Valerie dear, won’t you give your brother back his keys?”
Valerie clicked her tongue and reluctantly handed the keys to Izekiel.
Izekiel: “Woah, thanks for your cooperation.” He says sarcastically.
After that, Izekiel left, leaving only Ophelia and Valerie at home. Valerie looks at Ophelia.
Valerie: “Mom, you have to go to work soon too, right?”
Ophelia: “Yes, that’s right dear. Why?”
Valerie: “Well, usually I have Zeke to bother when you aren’t home. But now I don’t have anything to do.” She says with a glint of sadness.
Ophelia: “Aww my baby, are you getting lonely? Hmm, how about this? I'll take you to work with me."
Valerie beamed, getting to see the academy was her intention from the start. She quickly went to get ready.
They finally arrived at the academy. Ophelia walked to her office while Valerie was following behind. She got many attentions from the academy students on the way. She saw this and hurried closer to her mother. Ophelia held her hand and chuckled.
Ophelia: "There's no need to be shy, those kids are all really friendly and nice." She whispered to Valerie.
Valerie nodded.
Now they’re at Ophelia’s office. Her colleagues began fawning over the new child Ophelia’s brought to the office.
Colleague 1: “Ophelia! You’re finally here. Oh? Who’s this little cutie?”
Ophelia: “My daughter. She’s adorable, isn’t she?” she says with a proud tone.
Seeing all these new faces overwhelmed Valerie, even though she was the one who wanted to come here.
A haggard man who looks like he hasn’t slept for days came in to the room.
The man: “Look who finally decides to come to work. Welcome back, old hag.”
Valerie: “Old hag?” She thought to herself. She took a look at her mom then looked back at the man. She looks genuinely confused.
Ophelia's eyebrow furrowed upon hearing his voice but she still managed to keep a smile on her face.
Ophelia: “Archer! Gosh, how did you manage to look terrible than you already are?” she replied back with mocking tone. She’s clearly pissed off by his presence.
He frowned, then he looked at the child beside her. He showed a shocked face.
Archer: “You have a daughter now?? Who knocked you up?”
Ophelia was fuming with anger after hearing this, she pulls out her wand and blasts him away.
Valerie: “Mom who was that?”
Ophelia: “One of my old disciples, a very ungrateful one at that.” She clicked her tongue in annoyance.
Valerie was flabbergasted. She started to wonder exactly how old her mom is.
Valerie: “He looked double your age mom, how is that even possible?” she whispered to her mom.
Ophelia calmed down a bit and starts to give all her attentions to her daughter again.
Ophelia: “Right?!? I knew my daughter would take my side.” She replied happily back to her with a proud tone.
