Chapter II
As she slowly starts to sink into an endless dark abyss, a mysterious voice echoed through her ears, a voice she wasn’t familiar with. It was a woman’s voice.
A sudden source of faint light covers the darkness she was in, then she tries to open her eyes. As soon as her eyes were opened, she could see a place she had never seen before. It wasn’t a place that’s possible to be in considering the time period she’s in. In fact, it’s too developed.
“What is this place?” she thought to herself. She tried to move but finds herself unable to. Fear starts to consumed her but then that voice spoke again. She looks around and saw a tall woman who looks like she’s in her late 20s. The woman has a bewitching beauty, perhaps enough to get even a god captivated. She has long hair as black as a night sky and eyes with the color of shiny gold jewelry. But something was strange, she looks abnormally huge for a human.
The woman was walking towards her and soon after, she suddenly stretches out her hands and lift the girl up with a warm smile.
“I finally found you. Izekiel look! I found her.” The woman said with a happy look on her face. She proceeded to walk to a mirror with the girl in her arms.
The woman: “Even with so much dust on you, you still look as adorable as when ‘he’ first gave you to me.”
But the girl did not hear what the woman said as she was too bewildered by her appearance in the mirror. She has turned into a porcelain doll with hair resembling a ruby and eyes similar to the woman who’s holding her.
The woman: “I’m sorry for leaving you out on that shelf for too long, I had too much work to finish so I didn’t have time to take care of you. Will you forgive me, Val?” with an apologetic face.
A tall young man walks into the room. He looks like he’s just over 19, with the same black hair as the woman and deep ocean blue orbs.
The man: “Mom, why are you trying to have a conversation with a doll? It’s weird.” With a look of disturbance.
“Mom? But she looks too young to have a son that age” The girl thought to herself since she can’t speak. Then, she felt herself drop to the ground.
The woman: “Izekiel! Gosh, you scared me. You need to stop your habit of creeping up on people like that. You made me dropped her. Luckily, she didn’t crack.”
Izekiel: “Got it, anyway what’s with this dirty thing? And why were you trying to find it.”
The woman: “It’s lonely with just you, you know. Beside you rarely ever comes home anymore, leaving your old mother alone.” With a sad expression on her face.
Izekiel: “So, an old doll that can’t even move let alone speak can help with that?”
The woman: “Hmm, I guess not. But what can I do? It’s boring staying home all day.”
Izekiel: “Mom, tell me the real reason.”
The woman with a look of defeat: “Fine, it’s because I had a dream last night.”
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
Izekiel: “A dream?”
The woman: “In my dream, I saw your father standing in a dark void. He looked a me with the most beautiful smile ever. I can’t see what he looks like very clearly but I can instantly tell it was him. The past came back to me and I was reminded about this doll.”
A hint of nostalgia was relayed through her words
Izekiel: “Come to think of it, this thing has been with us for a long time but I still don’t know how we got it.”
The woman: “He gave it to me a long time ago. At first, I thought he was trying to tease me, but he told me that she will protect you and me in the future.”
Izekiel: “That seems highly impractical. But this doll isn’t quite like I remember. Something’s changed”
The woman: “What changed? She still looks like she used to, except a little dirty.” With a guilty face
Izekiel: “No, mom. Did you put something in it? Like a spirit or something.”
The woman: “No? How would I even do that? I’m a witch not a spiritualist or a god.”
Izekiel: “Well, no. But so far this is the only possible explanation."
The woman: “Son, you’re the only one who’s capable of working with soul and spirit. Maybe you did something and you just didn’t realize it.”
Izekiel: “I definitely didn’t, but this is too suspicious so you need to not get involved with it for a while. I’ll figure something out.”
The woman: “Come on! I’ve only just found it after so long.” She whines
Izekiel: “Please act your age and I smell something burning so you might want to check in on that.”
Hearing this the woman immediately panic and frantically rush to the other room.
After checking whether his mom is gone or not,
Izekiel: “Now, what should I do with you?”
He lifts the doll up and examines it.
Izekiel: “looks like there is a soul within you after all.”
After saying that he immediately stares intently at the doll’s eyes. A second past and she was back into the abyss again but this time she wasn’t alone.
It seems like he used some kind of power to intrude her mind.
Izekiel: “let’s have a chat.”
‘…’
Izekiel: “You can talk in here, don’t worry.”
‘…’
The girl: “Who are you and what did you do to me?”
Izekiel: “I should be the one asking you that. What is your purpose in possessing this doll? If it is something that includes hurting people, then I can’t just let you go on.”
The girl: “I can’t move nor speak how do you suppose I do that?”
Izekiel: “Just so you know, you might be able to see my exact appearance but to me you’re just a doll, I can’t discern your expression so I absolutely cannot trust in anything you say.”
The girl: “Turns me into a human then?” she said sarcastically
He was surprised and thought to himself for a minute.
Izekiel: “That just might work.”
The girl: “What?”
