“Screech!”
Slash!
“Reek!”
Slash!
“Damn, this is gettin hella boring after doing the same thing for days at a time,” Terry said to himself. He continued down the long Tunnel leading his large army of new ghouls behind him. Terry continued to slash the few remaining tarantula’s that attacked him but became very bored due to how easy they were. Terry had killed numerous heroic and normal tarantula’s and reached such a high level doing so that the tarantulas gave virtually no experience anymore. Plus, the tarantula’s were so weak that Terry gained no thrill from fighting them but alas, he had to remain cautious and go slowly to avoid getting gangbanged by a bunch of spiders because the ones he fought were the teens. All the adults and parents were hidden much deeper inside the cave. And although he was still very strong and could easily slaughter any normal adult and such, he preferred to always be in control and never encounter a situation where he was even remotely unprepared.
Terry followed the path for a few minutes until he reached a large room on the right side of the tunnel. Inside, he saw nearly a hundred adult tarantulas stare at him. He stood in not too large a tunnel, so he didn’t feel the need to use his mask existence skill. Instead, having the monster fight him in the crowded space would help to make killing them much easier. But Terry still was very cautious and didn’t just rush without thinking. He took the same moment as the spiders to study the opponent before determining if a fight was the proper course of action or to merely pass by. Sike!
Terry used the small amount of time he was given to jump into the room of tarantulas with his army of ghouls and began tearing through the group like cattle.

[Mega Parasitic Tarantula=weak]
As I expected, Terry thought. After that ‘cheat method’ few of these guys will be of use to me. But alas, my best chance of clearing this place completely is to wipe out each and every spider before I challenge the leader of this place. Such is proper edicate.
“F*ck em up fellas!” Terry yelled before opening his mouth long and after waiting for his teeth to become razor sharp fangs, he continued to use sword and teeth to rend his enemies like fishies, their acidic blood raining down on him. Within a mere minutes, Terry and his army had torn through the entire group of adults and made even more, stronger ghouls. Sadly, while ghouls may be very efficient and easy to make, their lifespan too, was quite short and they fell to the ground, as if they had instead been rotting for years. Although it didn’t matter much since there were so many spiders and Terry reveled in drinking all their blood and savoring the taste as it burned through his mouth. Those who Terry didn’t turn to ghouls as well as the fallen ghouls, were always eaten by the ones he still had. Even with all the tarantulas Terry had killed, he didn’t gain a single level. And these things were so much bigger than the others. Well, you know what, f*ck strategy! I’m so bored of this. The mother(s) of the tarantulas probably produce more while I'm going so slow, Terry began to realize.
Terry checked his new level and stats after he had been killing tarantulas for quite a while. He hadn't leveled up in quite a while as there were much fewer heroic tarantula's to face for some reason but needed a way to determine his current strength.
Vampire Lord=Level 26/100
Health=438
Magic=54
Stamina=78
Strength=57
Defense=42
Speed=51
Vitality=173
Intelligence=257
Heh, Terry thought. My stats have grown quite a lot down here. I think I know why my Vitality and Intelligence are so high though, likely because vampires are immortal and smart. I even understand numerous languages as well as traps and such, but still, this vessel is also very smart in his own right. I never even expected that I could level up this fast as well, such leveling speed is incredible. Now to continue forward.
[Activating Mask Presence]
“Rrrggh,” Terry groaned through his fangs. He looked to his ghouls and then back to the tunnel. Terry then began to rush out of the room and went straight to the end of the tunnel without caring at all for the other rooms. Since the tarantulas saw mostly their own rushing through the tunnel, they saw no need to intervene and simply left them be and with Terry’s maxed out Mask Presence and high level, they were of no threat to him. Sure, Terry would be missing perfect bundles of experience and safety hunting one on one but that’s not fun and whatever options aren’t fun can go f*ck themselves.
Terry had been zipping through the tunnel for the past month, fighting the hordes of tarantulas that attacked him often. many tarantulas had different amounts of strength and skill along with powerful abilities, but Terry was an unstoppable force with his ghouls and the ability to see in the darkness, making the tarantulas merely a large waste of time.
Many of Terry's ghouls had decomposed and so he had gotten new ones often with how fast spiders could proliferate. In fact, Terry was just wasting his time fighting the tarantulas, had the tunnels been shorter, he would've been easily able to tear through and escape but was unable to. No wonder even an entire group could spend such a long time inside of the cave.
Terry continued to walk forward with an even larger team of ghouls since he had just given up fighting safely and merely wished to hurry up by using the ghouls as cannon fodder. The ghouls continued to clear and Terry continued as fast as he could to find the end of the tunnel by tearing through the massive crowds of spiders with his incredible strength until finally reaching a dead-end made up of seemingly webs.
Terry felt the thick webbing that made up the blockade. The entrance to whatever room he looked at was huge but so too was the web thickness and strength.
Terry looked angrily at the blockade. It must hold something either very valuable or very dangerous, or both, Terry concluded. But that’ll make this all the more fun!
Terry commanded as many of his spiders as he could to surround the web and spit their strongest acid alongside Terry.
Sssss!
The web slowly burned in contact with the acid but not very much and the web seemed barely hurt at all.
Damn, this web was produced by spiders that probably have much stronger acid and now the web probably has a resistance to the same acid. But, only an idiot would stop now, Terry thought.
Terry called one of his tarantulas next to him and raised his sword near the web and above the Mega Tarantula Ghoul.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Sssss!
Bshh!
The heat of flame warmed Terry quite a bit. His first source of warmth in this entire cave made him create a small smile. Terry looked in front of him to the all but shattered shell of the Tarantula in front of him as it began to burn with the thick webbing barrier. Terry smiled wider. Flint and steel to start a fire, this place is really damn primitive, and hella fun. Terry had used his stolen sword to start the flame and had used the shell of a tarantula in order to create a spark which consumed the entire web within seconds. The sparks were very difficult to make though and needed quite a few attempts. But everything was worth it considering how many of the webs in the room would soon be burned along with many tarantulas inside the room.
The burning barrier of webs began to grow smaller and smaller until Terry could see inside.
Inside the room, Terry saw rows of eggs being set alight by the massive flames that consumed the webs throughout the room. Terry saw thousands of tiny spiders throughout the room screeching in pain as the flame devoured them and they became his experience.
“Screeech!”
Terry heard the sounds of many spiders behind him rushing through the tunnel toward him.
“Rehehehe! Kill them all!”
Terry commanded his ghouls to attack the tarantulas behind him as well as protect him from them. Plus, Terry couldn’t risk his ghouls being set ablaze as well. Now Terry could focus solely on killing everything in front of him instead of cautiously guarding himself.
[you have set a tarantula nest ablaze and burned 5000 giant parasitic tarantula variants to death=(Passive Skill) burn spider(web)]
[Level Up! 30/100]
Terry began to notice something off but had far bigger things to worry about when he saw two massive tarantulas charging at him at immense speeds. His ghouls had been successfully defending him and killing the other tarantulas from deeper in the tunnel. The problem was, Terry could attempt to stop the spider and lure it deeper into the tunnel to fight it alone, but there, he could be crushed by the sheer power of the massive enemy and make poor use of his skills. Plus, by then Terry would lose the element of surprise and advantage of the spiders being in a state of chaos. Although if Terry jumped straight into the massive breeding chamber filled with tarantulas, he would have plenty of room to maneuver, but he’d have to face hundreds to around a thousand super angry spiders who can withstand a massive fire that could also hurt Terry himself at any time. Many of the spiders were already spitting their acid over the flames to douse them and were succeeding. The fires would be out in a matter of minutes. Terry had to make a choice, fight long and safely or-
“Graah!” Terry roared as he jumped past one of the massive tarantulas while also using appraisal to see what exactly he was fighting.
[Giant Parasitic Tarantula King (damaged)= dangerous]
Terry grinned at the challenge of a very dangerous enemy. Before Terry completely passed the tarantula, he sunk his sharp fangs into the thick skin of the tarantula and took a small sip of the thick, sticky blood. Huh, so the kings produce the webs. Terry looked to view the numerous smaller spiders turning to ash around him and even another tarantula king was engulfed in severe flame. Hah, the fool probably attempted to douse the flaming web with more web which ended up causing the flame to spread inside of the tarantula and burn him from the inside. But in it’s last moments, it charged maddly at Terry in a final attempt at life to kill the sole cause of the numerous deaths of its brethren.
“Shht!”
“Shht!”
The Tarantula spit numerous large webs at Terry so in response, Terry raised his sword to cut through the webs.
[activating Spur]
[activating Acrobatics]
[Activating Overwhelming Strength]
Terry jumped right before the webs hit him with a spur and zipped through the air executing a perfect slice which tore through the shell of the tarantula and cut it completely in half. There was a spray of blood as the sword hit the hard ground underneath the tarantula and utilizing the new skill, completely incinerated what remained of the flaming arachnid.
[Level Up! 31/100]
“Nng!” Terry growled in pleasure through his fangs as he faced the king spider behind him struggling to burn through the thick webbing that Terry had dodged which had come to cover its entire head.
“Ssht!”
Numerous spiders continued to target Terry with their acid which was while trivial and weak for many, very difficult to avoid due to the sheer number of attacks and Terry's broken bone. Although, his skill acrobatics made maneuvering actually possible to manage while still attacking.
Terry took advantage of his opportunity and struck the webbed head of the king spider which jumped back reflexively and began to retreat in order to remove the webs from its face.
[Activating Spur]
Terry couldn’t let his perfect chance slip away and he charged toward the spider at high speeds without stopping to block the numerous attacks by the remaining tarantulas. Terry reached the King Tarantula and raised his sword again to rend his foe in two.
[Activating Overwhelming Strength]
“Roaar!”
Tear!
“Screeee!”
Crack!
Slash!
Terry’s blade ripped through the tough skin of the Tarantula king with much effort but nonetheless succeeded and caused the massive tarantula to be set ablaze. But no before tearing through the webbing covering its face and biting hard into Terry’s elbow, shattering it.
“Roar!!!” Terry screamed in pain. Blood spilled out of his mangled arm as the Tarantula king became ignited and covered flame.
Terry attempted to pull his arm back but the pain proved far too much, and Terry’s eyes began to close.
[Activating Resolve]
Terry’s eyes shot open instantly as he tore his arm from the fangs of the wounded tarantula which held onto part of the limb causing it to tear into 2 parts.
[Activating Blood Regeneration]
Terry’s blood spilled onto the ground as his massive wound began to seal via the blood clotting at remarkable speeds in order to prevent further damage to his vampiric body.
Rage filled Terry’s eyes and he raised the sword with his remaining hand before the Tarantula spit what little webbing wasn’t set ablaze to pull Terry forward and then used 4 of it’s undamaged legs to wrap around Terry.
Sh*t, how does it still have the ability to still fight? Terry thought as anger consumed him.
Chomp!
Terry looked behind him to see another King Tarantula bite hard through the legs wrapped around Terry.
Wait, because of my level, the blood must affect much stronger monsters now and faster too, this half-dead spider is under my control, and although it’s burning alive, it still can serve a purpose.
Terry looked again at his mangled arm and his arm holding the massive sword. Terry was very weak now. Even if he could still damage the tarantulas, he needed all the strength in both of his arms with overwhelming strength in order to properly cut through the kings. 2 had been dealt with and only one remained.
Terry glanced quickly around the room for any more possible threats. There, Terry saw two tarantula kings standing still in front of some sort of massive… what the hell actually is that? Terry looked past the two tarantula kings far away which seemed to be guarding something. Plus, many of the other lager spiders were also guarding that same area but whatever it was was just so large that it couldn’t be blocked from Terry’s sight. The massive thing looked similar to a massive organ, constantly pulsing. That, it was Terry’s chance to not just win but something far more important. Survive. It was the mother, Terry was sure of it.
If Terry could just kill the mother, he could throw all these spiders into an even bigger chaos than before with the flame. If Terry killed the queen, all of the tarantulas would pose no threat and in fact, would be quite easy for him to take his sweet time killing as well as get hella strong while doing so. Although still, where exactly were the rest of the tarantulas with the high levels? Considering what Terry had learned, the failures had been stockpiled for a few years, waiting to nurture and become ready for the true heroes who were worth something to whoever ruled this land. If that were the case, Terry would already be much stronger and able to tear through the remaining spider without breaking a sweat.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Terry looked toward the tarantula king about to devour him and then to his flaming, half-dead ghoul. Terry jumped away from the two and commanded his ghoul to grapple the other and burn it as well. Now that the immediate threat was gone, Terry still had 2 more and almost a thousand more weaker spiders. There was only one choice left, a risk that was also Terry’s last resort. Terry looked quickly to the tunnel as a way to flee but watched as his ghouls were being torn through from both sides of the tunnel and would die within a few minutes.
Well, no other choice then, Terry thought.
[Activating Control mind]
Terry began to fill with rage, overwhelming rage, the rage of his failure, loss of respect, humiliation.
[Activating Demon king aura]
Whoosh!
The Tarantulas shivered in terror at the aura. The fear made all the tarantulas tremble violently and even the king tarantulas guarding the queen shivered slightly. Terry’s only threat was no the King tarantulas as all the other spiders couldn’t even move. The nearest king was being stalled by Terry’s ghoul which was unaffected by the aura on account of it being a ghoul with no mind of its own. Terry would only have a few seconds before the effect would wear off.
[Activating Spur]
Terry rushed toward the massive pulsing body which he assumed to be the queen. The two kings attempted to block Terry but to little avail due to his speed and their weakness. Terry raised the massive sword and took a good look at the enemy before him from in the air.
Damn, If I didn’t have experience in surgery and brutal torture, I would have vomited on the spot, Terry thought. His face scrunched up in major disgust. Terry saw the massive pulsing body, at least 7 whole meters wide and 9 meters long. There were numerous objects inside the body that distorted the shape quite a bit. Possibly the eggs. What was worse, there was no shell. The only thing Terry saw was large, thick amounts of moist flesh with a thin layer of skin for simple protection against little more than dirt or dust. No wonder there were so many spiders protecting it. But what was worse, the 10 tiny hairy legs at the sides. For the Tarantulas, those legs would be massive but for this fattass, it was like strands of hair. Terry looked directly in front of him to see a massive hole in the back of the monstrosity which Terry could only assume to be a reproductive organ due to how large it was and how it began producing a massive egg sack.
[Activating Overwhelming strength]
Unwilling to wait any longer, Terry fell above the massive opening and plunged his sword into the massive creature, setting it ablaze. There was no response other than the blood spilling out of the massive wound and the embryos of the massive eggs becoming burned as well. Even with the immense pain and possible rage, the aura kept all silent other than the ghouls who continued to loyally fulfill Terry’s commands. Due to the massive body of the mother tarantula, even Terry’s strong attack couldn’t come close to killing, so instead, Terry ran around the body to the head while the flame on the mother was the prime focus and slashed through the enormous head of the queen.
[Level Up! 34/100]
Nice, finally a good amount of experience, Terry thought.
The other tarantulas stood silently for mere moments as Terry did the same. Watching for a response and next move.
The tarantulas remained frozen, even as Terry stared straight at one and his ghouls continued thrashing about in the tunnel. Then, they all began running around attacking everything in sight. The ghouls, rocks, Terry, other spiders, there was complete chaos. Any sense and leadership the spiders had was gone. Terry would normally use this chance to kill those that remained, but decided that leaving the tarantulas to themselves would be much safer and more efficient. Terry was also very weak. Many of his skills had been overused and he felt very tired due to his resolve about to reach the limit. Terry was pushed very far past his limit. More so than ever before, Terry had literally nothing he could do at this point. Terry fell flat onto the burning corpse of the mother as he sunk his teeth into the soft, warm, disgusting flesh and drank the blood. The blood didn’t taste inherently bad like the rest. There was nearly no acid in the blood. Instead, Terry tasted something juicy and sweet. Such rich blood, it drove Terry crazy with how tasty it was. Unlike the powerful acids in the other tarantula’s bloodstream, the queen’s blood was rich and sweet. Terry felt his energy slowly regenerating and even saw his mangled arm begin to slowly grow when in direct contact with the flesh of the queen.
Huh, I guess looks really can be deceiving, Terry thought. Even though the queen looked hella disgusting, the fact that she benefits me so is remarkable, to say the least.
Terry rested as a few other spiders attempted to feed on the queen as well in their states of insanity, but Terry put a quick end to those fools with a sword to their heads. By now, Terry had reached level 34, a level that took a few years alone. Terry had won and had nothing to fear, for now anyway. But still, this was a cave for a full team of numerous heroes and people of the world to reach a much greater level as a whole. And with Terry solo, He should've become much stronger.
So where were all of the monsters that gave the most Experience when Terry had to fight several for the same effect? The question constantly bugged Terry and even instilled some fear in him. He wasn’t alone, that was for sure. What was worse, Terry had survived for so long without finding a single one which meant they were probably hiding somewhere together and could slaughter Terry like a dog at any time. Although, that didn’t really tell Terry much especially since he hadn’t seen anyone else in the entire cave. Other than the girl who he had left to probe for danger, but she should’ve just died. Only one option remained, there was a hidden room in the cave with all of the variants of tarantula with the high levels. Terry had gotten a few, probably to throw him off a little. But still, his purpose here was simple, to get as strong as possible with the most cover because once he left, anything could happen and Terry wished to be ready for whatever awaited him.
Within a few minutes, Terry had regenerated his right arm up until his palm completely. His fingers had begun to form, but while functional, they lacked any skin but as Terry could regenerate the rest himself, he saw no further need to linger on the ground. He felt full of energy and better than ever. Much of his clothing had been ripped, but the skin underneath was fine and that was what mattered. Terry began to stand and watched as his remaining ghouls broke due to rotting to the bone and many of the tarantulas had killed each other off. There were only around 7 spiders remaining out of the previous thousand.
Heh, now to just kill them off and explore the cave in its entirety, Terry thought.
Slash!
Stepstepstepstepstepstep!
Terry began to stand but as he did so, his body shook violently in fear.
Terry couldn’t stand or even struggle and was forced immediately to the ground.
“All my brethren dead, killed by each other, by fire, by… you?” A massive figure stepped out from behind Terry.
What the hell?! Terry thought. I checked and there was solid rock over there and a bit of webs- sh*t! That wasn’t a wall, but a blockade! I was right wasn’t I? There's someone else in this cave who killed a almost all of the High-Leveled tarantulas or the tarantulas must’ve been hiding there for some similar reason. But there could be more than one person, I should be careful.
“Mother, you lie here dead, along with thousands of your children born and unborn. In the end, you were doomed to die here without achieving your dream. I am the only one left of us, with a mind at least,” said the massive figure.
Whoosh!
“Now the only beings that live here are me and you,” began the being in a furious tone down to Terry. “Speak! Why did you come here? Where is the rest of your group?! Roared the being angrily. Terry was too terrified to answer and that meant only one thing, the being was of a much higher level than Terry.
“You wish to act weak after all that destruction by faking your fear? Since you have come here, you must be quite strong so if you will not answer, then I shall kill you now hero!” roared the being as it attempted a slow strike at Terry to give him a last chance to speak.
This, whatever it is, I can’t see what it is from the ground, is f*cking stupid. Can’t it see I can’t get up with it’s massive aura and power forcing me down. Grr! I won’t bow to anyone ever again. Even if I die, I swore to kill all who oppose me!
[Activating Demon King Aura]
Whoosh!
Terry began to rise to his feet as the other aura was slowly pushed back from Terry. Terry still struggled to stand but was actually able to unlike without the aura. Terry looked at his foe. A massive tarantula stood before him. But this one looked much different from the rest. 9 eyes were trained on Terry and watched his every shiver. 6 legs supported the creature while it used 8 more as arms. The ‘arms’ though, fascinated Terry in that there were thin fangs replicating fingers upon the edges and those ‘fingers’ were incredibly sharp. The limbs of the tarantula, while thin, looked to be incredibly strong since they could support the weight so well of the massive tarantula and also moved through the air masterfully. Also, instead of just fangs, the creature actually had a well proportioned mouth. Not even close to the look of a normal one considering all of the small green, venomous fangs replacing the normal white squares for a human, but the creature had a mouth all the same. A massive figure of 18’ 3” was what Terry could measure. While the creature before Terry was a tarantula, the number of limbs and fangs it had were beyond frightening. The creature before him deserved to be labeled only one thing, a genuine monster. The creature studied Terry carefully before stopping its attacks and giving Terry a moment to respond weakly.
“I’m here alone and caused all these deaths by myself,” Terry said barely controlling his speech. Terry was still processing trying to think just how many heroes the tarantula in front of him had eaten in order to speak properly and even more so about what level it was.
[activating Appraisal]
[????????????=??????? Notice, your opponent is ??????????????????????????????????????????
Sh*t, Terry thought. This’ll be one hell of a fight.
“Oh, so then, you mean to say that you’re one of the failures that drop down here every once in a while. But that means one thing then, you are my dinner then,” responded the tarantula as it looked menacingly at Terry.
“I think I understand now, you thought I was the guys who threw me in here and wanted to kill me and your ‘brethren’ as you put it, thought I was a failure and wanted to eat me as well. Well then, that makes you my enemy doesn’t it?” Terry asked, Taking a small step forward.
[Activating Intimidation]
The tarantula looked at Terry and smiled disgustingly at him.
“Heheheh, that is one major way to die a gruesome death,” laughed the Tarantula as something in the air changed and suddenly Terry’s knees began to shake violently and began to collapse. “-but, then again, you are not the one at fault, in fact, they deserved this. They forced me to feed on my own brethren and never once gave me my own life. I wanted peace but they always said nothing but, ‘we must destroy all those who wish to use us for their own benefit and then we shall enslave all those who wronged us and watched us be wronged.’ but even so, they were still family, how can you possibly make amends for what you have done?” asked the Tarantula in a quiet, cold, bloodchilling voice.
[activating Mental control]
A shiver ran down Terry’s spine as he responded calmly.
“Heh, if you were going to kill me you would have done so, you have a use for me and I see rewards for myself teaming up with you as well. Besides,” Terry looked inquisitively at the tarantula. “Anyone else in your position would’ve slaughtered me like a dog regardless of who or what I was. But you, you actually sought a conversation with me, meaning we can be friends.
“Krekekekekekekeke! It seems we understand each other quite well and you are very cunning, but one is certain, I don’t know when that mind of yours could turn on me at any time. And while you are currently but a twig that I can snap at any time just by touching it, you have the potential to grow into a massive tree with no help from others as I’ve seen. But, if you wish to know why I can speak your tongue so fluently or don’t merely wish to devour you, you can probably assume that it’s due to the hundreds of heroes and other such failures and cripples that are thrown down here. Their languages and intelligence and skills have stuck to me. Although the chances are low, I have many skills now. That damn temple, they only care for massive magic and don’t care a bit for skills. Yet, while weaker, skills are far more versatile. But, I assume you will understand why I can’t possibly adventure alone out of this cave.
“Wait, a temple?” Terry asked.
“I don’t want to waste time explaining now but basically the temple is the group that summons heroes and wishes to spread their influence and religion to the rest of the world. That’s all I know though since the informed bodies never end up down here,” responded the tarantula
“Well then, I know you can’t exactly go to the city or anything, but, oh, you can’t fly and need my help getting that high up to escape through the entrance. Don’t you?” Terry asked knowingly.
“Krekekeke!” laughed the tarantula turning around. On his massive, brown, thick-skinned back were 6 legs, 3 on each side, with numerous strands of webbing between them to serve as a kind of wings. Terry stood in awe watching the makeshift wings and admiring the skill and intelligence used to make them.
“You fool, you didn’t notice the massive seal covering the whole cave. This whole place is surrounded as well by powerful foes. So much as touch the seal, and I imagine an entire army will be summoned to kill us. So I wonder, how did someone as strong as you get into here in the first place without activating the barrier and with such a blade no less,” said the tarantula eying the bloody stolen sword Terry held in an iron grip ready to strike at any time.
“They not just let me in here, they threw me in here. The sword came with someone less fortunate who attempted to survive. I was lucky enough to make my way to the back of the wagon used to throw heroes in. That's how I made my way in here. Although, there is one skill I could try but I can’t exactly take you with me if that’s what I use,” Terry said expectant of a rush of anger from his opponent.
“Hmm, that is a problem. So why don’t I just devour you and your skill here and now?” asked the massive tarantula, reaching its massive legs/arms around Terry ready to crush him into jelly before swallowing him whole.
Terry stood firm in response because he had gotten used to this situation with someone’s finger wrapped around his existence. He had died once, so what would another death change?
“Now then, if you did that, you could leave here, but as an insect to start, you would be hunted regardless of where you were or what you did. And the chances of that being possible are a chance of like 5% at most,” Terry responded in his own threatening voice as he gripped his blade in both hands and pushed it against the Massive tarantula, knowing full well that while it could kill him at any time, it wouldn’t and Terry wished to have fun exploiting that to the max..
“Damn, this isn’t going to work out, you got any ideas?” The tarantula asked Terry as he began to slouch and relax himself a bit.
“Hah! I knew it, you are pretty chill, we’ll get along fine. Anyway, while I could swear on my honor not to just abandon you, I have another skill that could be useful in this situation which is perfect for insurance,” Terry said.
“Consider me intrigued, while I don’t trust you, you can’t do much to me no matter what skills you use considering my level. I’ll humor you,” responded the tarantula as it began removing it’s arms/legs from around Terry. In response, Terry removed his left hand from the massive sword in his right and sliced into it a 5 millimeter deep cut. A bit of blood trickled forth from the cut before the wound sealed within a few seconds after reading,
[Activating Blood regeneration]
Terry then stretched out his sword to the massive tarantula.
“Pick a limb,” Terry said calmly.
The tarantula didn’t respond verbally and instead merely stretched out of his numerous arms/legs for Terry to cut. Afterward, Terry gripped the bleeding limb of the Tarantula.
[Activating Blood Contract]
“Aight so I pinky promise that Ima come back here for you with some strong enough people and bust you outta of here and then f*ck up the ‘temple’ or whatever together,” Terry said with a laugh letting go of the limb of the Tarantula and smiling.
[Blood contract made, unable to be broken other than by the vampire whose blood has been used for the contract. Nullified if the used blood is purified. Those who break the set terms to a certain extent shall lose their soul to the Contractor]
“Aight, good enough?” Terry questioned.
“Sure, considering what just happened, you will come, but one more thing, while I don’t know when exactly the heroes will come to clear this place and therefore blow the cover on this plan, I do know that you have around a year and a half or so, going on schedule with the typical clears that I learned from mother,” The tarantula said.
“Huh, so a year and a half. I mean, considering how strong I got within a few days of showing up here, I think I got this. But one thing, I didn’t really see anybody back at the entrance, can’t I just get out that way? While you don’t see them, I can use wings too,” Terry questioned the tarantula suspiciously.
“My mother has sent plenty of spiders attempting to do just that. While my wings are far more developed than the other of my kind who tried, many weren’t even able to remove the entrance which is held by a tight barrier. But those who could, which was at best a king tarantula of similar strength to mine, made using similar methods. Who was also my father, or so I’m told considering what happened next. Us tarantulas can communicate remotely with the queen as she is our mother. And the moment my father broke through the barrier, which alone, killed those who followed my father and somehow notified numerous individuals of similar strength to kill him within seconds. While you didn’t see anyone, there could’ve been plenty. So the temple probably hoped us to cease resistance entirely and attempt to enjoy our meaningless lives under the thumbs of another. And while some did, my mother had a different idea, to find another hole by making one inside the cave. But wherever we dug, there was always the barrier. Even deep underground. The barrier is a perfect sphere shape around the cave and the moment something makes its way through, we are all slaughtered like dogs except for the queen. But if you can possibly get through, then I put my trust in my only chance to slaughter the temple. And if you fail, then we die together as well as deal a major blow to the temple as best we can,” said the tarantula.
“Well then, I shouldn’t waste any time. I promise to visit, especially considering how alone you’ll get,” Terry said with a laugh. “But before that, tell me the best way out of here to not get spotted.”
“Firstly, don’t visit, I shall meditate in order to gain control of my skills as much as possible. Even if my level is very high, my skills that I have stolen from the numerous heroes I’ve devoured have much room to grow. It will also lower the food I’ll need to consume which is good considering how while I have a lot, with all the heroes I’ve eaten, my taste has improved causing anything dead to taste foul. But I will still eat the occasional heroes that are dropped in order to keep up this charade and improve my strength. Also, for the best way to escape, follow me,” said the tarantula beginning to walk and signaling for Terry to follow closely through the broken blockade that the tarantula had cut through and entered from.
“I would prefer if you were at a higher level, but I can’t do much about that now as I’m sure you understand,” said the Tarantula as Terry just nodded in response.
The tarantula led Terry through a tunnel that the tarantula had to crouch through to enter but Terry was able to enter without problems due to his smaller size. Eventually the 2 reached a small room with a massive hole in the center. Terry walked up to it and looked down to see total darkness. Webs were strung all around the hole, probably because the flame hadn’t reached nearly as far as the hole.
“Umm… will I die if I jump?” Terry asked uncertainly.
“Well, if you do have wings like you said, just use those. But the tarantulas did put a bunch of webbing at the bottom to mark where the barrier is. Just cut through the webs when you get there and jump through. Our attacks couldn’t go through the barrier similar to us and were instead dissipated. Also, all the areas that reach above ground where the barrier protrudes are closely monitored. Mostly to prevent others from using us to level up but it also serves as a way to keep us inside as well. So my kind has spent long attempting to dig and find a way out if we had a chance. And we were bored as f*ck. So, this hole opens into a massive mining tunnel. Thankfully, the tunnel ended partially inside the barrier so that you can just jump through instead of having to dig and stressing your skill therefore lowering your chances of avoiding detection,” responded the tarantula hopefully.
“Well then, see ya I guess. Good luck meditating and I sure hope I can actually get out of here. I’ve done some crazy, risky sh*t in my life but never once something like this. Except when I slaughtered those 17 kings in one go and had numerous militaries after me. But, since there's webbing down there as long as you’re telling the truth, I’ll be fine,” Terry said gripping his sword tightly and reaching one foot into the massive, seemingly endless hole.
“Well then, good luck. If you do survive, I will ask your story about how you came here as well as your name. Especially since all that rage in your heart is what intrigued me and caused me to trust me in the first place,” said the tarantula walking away as he prepared for a possible failure which would cause his death and readied himself to fight his last moments.
Terry spun around, “wait! I did forget to tell you- woah!” Terry said as his other leg left the ground and he slipped and fell into the hole.“Aaagh!”
